World of Warcraft – Undisputed sales champ

World Of Warcraft Game
It seems the World of Warcraft franchise is just unstoppable and the public can’t get enough of it. At least that’s what NPD’s latest PC sales chart says.

As it turns out the online RPG came in first place while it’s expansion pack, “The Burning Crusade” came in second. What’s even more amazing is that the Warcraft franchise sold more copies than the next five runners up put together.

Sims 2 GameThe Sim’s 2 expansion pack came in third place with over 50.000 sold copies, while Supreme Commander the successful RTS from Gas Powered Games took fourth place with over 40.000 sold copies in the first eight days.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact ath blizzard has the practice of banning hundreds of accounts on the suspicion that they have been cheating. Possably forcing people to re-purchase the client software to be able to start a new account to resume their addiction to the alternative virtual life?

Could be Mead...but if no one does anything about it. all that matters is they get richer by the nanosecond.

The percent of the WOW population that is banned on suspicion of cheating is less than .05% If you do the math, you'll realize that there's something else that's making this game sell. Hmm let me see, a fun MMO experience and constantly updated content at a reasonable fee. No,that can't be it. It's gotta be the cheating thing. /sarcasm

There are very few ways you can cheat on Blizzard servers which is what makes it so much better that previous mmorpg's where a handful of Uber chars would run seem almost invincible and hacked hacked items etc. So yes banning is partly why it's become so popular.....Also because it's too damn addictive!!! Thank god i've quit and don't intend to go back.....or will I hmmmm?
