11.5 Million World Of Warcraft Subscribers!
I can't say I love World of Warcraft, but I don't hate it, either. Despite its reputation, World of Warcraft is one of those notorious games that simply didn't manage to make me an addict, and so I stopped playing after a few hours of enjoying the free trial. Anyway, this is not about my addiction to one or another computer game, since World of Warcraft just managed to break its own record, reaching a new milestone...

...and the barrier just left behind is the 11.5 million subscribers mark! Now, that's what I can call impressive! After all, with more and more people losing their jobs here and there, we have more gamers with time left for WoW..or not, but let's see what Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard has to say about this new milestone:
"We're pleased to welcome the new and returning players who have helped World of Warcraft reach these new milestones, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and support that the game's global community has continued to show. We look forward to providing all of them with an excellent entertainment experience for a long time to come."
Regarding the performance on the market of the game, Bob McKenzie, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop, said "Not only is Wrath of the Lich King still doing well, the base World of Warcraft game and the World of Warcraft Battle Chest [in the US] are performing better than last year. That type of traction is very impressive for a game that is going into its fifth holiday season and speaks to the enthusiastic player base Blizzard Entertainment products have."
All the above won't make me try WoW once again, but I guess it's not exaggerated to call it "the greatest MMORPG of all times," don't you agree? ;)
