Warhammer Online: AOR a worthy adversary for WoW?

Warhammer Online Age Of Reckoning Game
Well one thing is for certain if there’s a game out there that can rival World Of Warcraft it has to be Warhammer Online.

Unlike all the other MMORPGs that have challenged Blizzard’s money making machine this one really stands a chance, the Warhammer franchise has been around since 1983 and if you ask me this fantasy universe rivals and even surpasses Warcraft in every way.

I’ve seen some of the artwork for this game, and all I can say is WoW!!! watch out.

Let’s face it we’re in for an epic battle right here in the real world…just imagine : In a world of online gaming… WoW reigns supreme…many have challenged and failed time and time again…only one game can truly challenge it’s rule…it’s name…WARHAMMER ONLINE: AGE OF RECKONING…let the battle begin…

Warhammer Online Age Of Reckoning GameThe guys from Mythic promised not to disappoint and I really hope they come up with something breathtaking, cause that’s the only way they’re gonna have a chance in the fight for the top spot.

World of Warcraft – Undisputed sales champ

World Of Warcraft Game
It seems the World of Warcraft franchise is just unstoppable and the public can’t get enough of it. At least that’s what NPD’s latest PC sales chart says.

As it turns out the online RPG came in first place while it’s expansion pack, “The Burning Crusade” came in second. What’s even more amazing is that the Warcraft franchise sold more copies than the next five runners up put together.

Sims 2 GameThe Sim’s 2 expansion pack came in third place with over 50.000 sold copies, while Supreme Commander the successful RTS from Gas Powered Games took fourth place with over 40.000 sold copies in the first eight days.

PlayStation 3 helps medical research

PlayStation 3 Game
Sony Computer Entertainment announced that it has joined Stanford University in it’s quest to find the cure of diseases like Parkinson’s, Alhzimer’s, cystic fibrosis and many cancers.

The PlayStation 3 will be able to connect to Stanford’s Folding@Home program, a computer project aimed at understanding protein folding, misfolding and related diseases. The pocess of protein folding is very complex and computer simulations are needed to study the process, but to simulate this process on a single computer could take up to 30 years, so a computer network is needed to shorten this activity . And since the PlayStation 3 Cell processor is about 10 times faster than a standard PC processor, the researchers could speed things up even more.

With the latest software updates PlayStation 3 users will be able to join the program by clicking the Folding@Home icon or set the application to run automatically while the machine is idle

Sony Computer Entertainment also declared that this is only the beginning as they intend to support other academic fields such as social sciences and environmental studies.
