Alien vs. Predator Requiem PSP Game

Alien vs Predator

<-250x250 Square - left->The success of a Sci-Fi movie is in most cases accompanied by a video game that stimulates the fans. Alien vs Predator makes no exception in this case, and our sources confirm that there will be a PSP game based on the latest movie (that is expected to be released this Christmas). Just like the previous series of the AVP games, this one will be developed by Sierra as well, and we hope they will be just as good as the scary scenes from the movie trailer that promises a lot of action and "legendary" scenes.

You will be able to play as the "Predator" and you will be given access to all the sleek devices and his technology. “The Aliens vs. Predator-Requiem movie promises to provide a thrilling experience, and we are very excited to get the adrenaline pumping before the big screen battle begins with this exclusive title for the PSP system,” (...) “Twentieth Century Fox has been an excellent partner, and we are very proud to be giving the fans of the franchise this action-packed interactive extension of the AvP series”, said Pascal Brochier, president, Global Retail for Vivendi Games. Have a look below at the trailer of the upcoming movie to get an idea on what to expect:

PlayStation 3 Will Be DivX Compatible

PS3

After the release in June of the 1.8 firmware for the PlayStation 3, the new capabilities included recognition and playback of the video files encoded into the AVC High-Profile format video. The MPEG4 codec allows the files to be compressed and to keep the a very good level of quality.

The DivX Company announced today that its famous compression technology for videos will be implemented in the PlayStation3 systems as well, as part of a firmware update. Therefore, all PS3 users will be happy to find out that their gaming systems will soon be alble to play DivX files as well. The DivX compression technology is well known on the internet for its extremely good reputation when it comes to file size and video quality, by combining a lower bitrate with the reduced size of the video file. You might have seen in my game reviews here many DivX videos - I selected the format for its superior streaming capabilities.

DivX

The PS3 owners were already able to stream videos, but from now on, with that upcoming firmware update, they will be able to watch video files natively encoded in the DivX format.

Need for Speed: ProStreet Has Arrived!

Almost 14 years have passed since The Need for Speed hit the road for the first time, changing the world of racing computer games and opening a path followed by many other games. Unfortunately, since Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, Electronic Arts moved away from the racing simulation and created arcade games that were successfull on the market, but didn't match the tastes of many old fans.

Today, it may be a new beginning for the NFS series, or even the beginning of the end. Taking a turn, Electronic Arts' Need for Speed: ProStreet offers realistic car handling, damage, and graphics more advanced than before, as expected. The best part is that, after being announced on the 31st of May, we finally have the chance to grab it from the stores, because Need for Speed: ProStreet was officially released today, after a 2 weeks delay.

NFS is back

The good part is that, from now on, you won't bump into walls at 200mph and get out of it slightly scratched and with a car that behaves exactly the same, and even better, we'll finally be ble to race in daylight. Of course that fans of the latest releases of the game aren't going to be happy, probably, but that's life, after all - some win, some lose.

For more details, you can check the official site, but I am sure that old NFS fans will be thrilled to drive in Drag, Drift, Grip, and the all-new Speed Challenge races with new cars, top-notch graphics and, hopefully, the old feeling that only Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed was able to offer. Be sure to check back this site, because we're preparing a large article about the entire NFS series, including the first and the last...
