It has been confirmed for a while that the work for Bioshock 2 has started already. A source (Hrej.cz) states that Bioshock 2 is already in the pre-production phase and the the expected release date is around the middle of 2009. It is a common fashion these days to see famous movies having prequels, with plots having the action set before the events from the original story. Bioshock 2 might be the one to set a precedent for games: the action will take place before the story in the first Bioshock. It will be interesting to see what game-engine will be used this time and what system requirements will be presented.

A lot of gamers agree with the fact that despite a few bugs, the games from the Prince of Persia trilogy, the "Sands of Time", "Warrior Within" and "The Two Thrones" have a very good story behind, and a very stimulating soundtrack as well. Since the story was so inspiring, a movie will be made based on the first of the three games, as I previously wrote in an earlier news article. Lately we have seen many game items gaining ground into the real world, sleek swords, super guns, and now it's the time to see another game-inspired device - in the image below you will a fan-made Recon Helmet from Halo 3.

<-125x125 Button - left->It is a known fact that Xbox team has organized a contest for a full Recon in-game armor. A lot of gamers want it and think of it as a very "precioussss" (like Golum says in Lord of the Rings) item. The fan who made this real helmet doesn't have one in the game, but his creation is a very good hint he might get one.

 

The Gizomodo website has decided to put to the test the latest firmware update from Sony's PS3 console, to see how it deals with the new Blu-ray 1.1 new format against the only new Blu-ray player that accepts the new standard, Panasonic DMP-BD30. The results were pretty interesting and they ruled out that it is far more to the advantage of the buyer to get a PS3 for a couple of good reasons: while it does perform much better than it's competitor in terms of motion (image) processing, it also offers a lot of other entertaining methods (gaming being the basic one), and it will also last longer because "any standalone Blu-ray player without an Ethernet jack may be in danger of obsolescence in a few years".

As I was saying in a previous article, the medic class from the Team Fortress 2 is going to be updated and improved for a better gaming experience. So far we got a temporary list which should give us an idea on what to expect, thanks to the German site TeamFortress2.de. After the update, the following fixes and tweaks should be applied:
