First PS3 Unreal Tournament Map Released

Shrine UT3 Map

Epic Games has released already a map for the PS3 version of the Unreal Tournament 3 shooter video game. It is called DM-Shrine and it is adressing to a relatively low number of player that can play on it at the same time, however the tight spot does increase the adrenaline levels just as it is mentioned in the description of the map. The mod-map can be downloaded from Filefront and the PS3 installation instructions are as follows:

"DM-Shrine is is a great little map that's perfect those close-quarters, 2-6 players, matches that keep your adrenaline pumping from beginning to end. A lot of our DM maps in UT3 are designed for larger player counts so this provides a great contrast and a chance to play in a more intimate setting.(...) Here is how to install UT3 mods on your PlayStation 3:

- Unzip the file to the root directory of any memory card that is readable by your PlayStation 3. It is already in the proper directory structure but, just in case, the path and filename need to be: ps3\savedata\blus30086-modimport\userdata.jam
- Boot up Unreal Tournament 3 on your PS3
- Go to the "Community" menu
- Choose "My Content"
- Press the [SQUARE] button to "Import Mod"
- Follow the directions on the screen to import it from your memory card. Once imported you'll be able to see the map in your list of Deathmatch maps."

Gears Of War – Book

Gears of War

Apparently the fans of the Gears of War have a new reason to be happy - a book explaining the pre-story (which lead to the situation presented to us at the beginning of the game) will be released at the end of August, this year. The title of the book will be “Gears of War: The Pendulum Wars” and gamers will read the legends that brought the fame to Marcus Fenix. There’s just one “catch” - the book will be written by Steven L. Kent, who reportedly has a reputation very similar to Uwe Boll’s - he does to literature what Boll does to movie adaptations of video games. However, I doubt that this will stop the true fans from getting their hands on this piece once it is out for sales.

Assassins Creed – HD Gameplay Video

Do you remember the old Thief game series? Assassins Creed has a relatively similar gameplay style, however it's a shame there's no PC version to it (although we might see this on the 12th of February). We know that a lot of gamers would have loved to play this title on the PC as well. It's the stealth-action that attracts a certain type of gamers who wish to explore the missions by using smart moves rather than brute force. For the moment, the PC gamers can only enjoy the HD video below, in wich the main character, Desmond Miles, shows us his climbing skills on a cathedral.
