Highlander Video-Game By Eidos

Since we're on the topic of movies that inspire video games, here's another piece of news: Eidos is working on a title inspired by the Highlander movie series. The game trailer doesn't present us many in-game details, however a few details have leaked - it's going to be a third person adventure and judging by the voice from the trailer, the gamers will get to play the role of Connor MacLeod, battling their way through 18 missions and 4 environments.

Hellboy Video Game

Hellboy Video Game Enough movies based on video-games! Let's see how it works the other way around: a game ispired by a movie - in many cases such games are not that good or as impressive as the movies that inspired the developers but in the case of Hellboy, we might be looking at a good upcoming title. Actor Ron Perlman, who plays as Hellboy in both films and animations, has arranged with Konami to bring the red character in the game "Hellboy: The Science of Evil". In an e-mail-interview, Ron says: "I do not play video games, so I am unfamiliar with the finished product of the Hellboy game"(...) "I can only judge it on the level of what my experience acting the roles offered to me was like. And I thought the writing for the game was smart and well realized, with the extra added attraction of Guillermo’s personal involvement in the project." The game is scheduled to ship in June 2008.

Go Alone When Buying M-Rated Video-Games

Assassin’s Creed Yes, that is the "safest" thing to do if you plan to buy any type of M-rated video games or movies. According to a story of Matt D., a young man of 21, the sales staff did not allow him to buy Assassin's Creed (the game is M-rated) because they thought he was buying it for his younger brother, thus doing somethig illegal. While Matt appreciated their concern at first, he mentioned he was 21 years old and has given his ID to prove it. While the staff members still didn't agree that it was a legal thing to sell the game to him, Matt insisted that it was his right to use the gift-cards he had in order to aquire the Assassin's Creed video-game and an XBOX Live Gold: "The Best Buy cashier then came back and shouted that I'm purchasing a video game for a minor in front of everyone in line behind me and her fellow cashiers. She even had the nerve to ask, "Is that even your brother with you?!" Hell yes he is! I was embarrassed! It's like she was condemning me for purchasing alcohol for a minor.(...)<-250x250 Square - right-> In front of the store again he told me that I am illegally purchasing a video game for a minor. I responded back that they are my gift cards! I want to make a purchase. That's when he picked up Xbox Live GOLD. I then asked if I couldn't buy that either. He then took a few minutes to scrutinize the box looking for an online peripherals rating. He never found it and said to me, he's not sure, I might not be able to do that either (Xbox Live was also rated E for everyone mind you). I continued to repeat that these are my gift cards, I'm 21 and I want to make my purchase. The cashier and manager continued to condemn me in front of all that I'm illegally purchasing the game for a minor." In the end, Matt had to go miles away to another "Best Buy" store where he didn't have any problems and even had a nice experience. The question is - what can you do when the brains of the people you might depend on refuses to help them?

Run Through Doom 3 - Resurrection of Evil

Some friends got into playing older games on their newly upgraded desktop computer to see what they have missed some years ago. One of the games they tried to play was Doom 3 - Resurrection of Evil - and they still got scared when encountering a few enemies in some levels. But they also played with the lights off, in the middle of the night - I guess they were testing their courage. Either way, the hell-knights and the imps did what they usually do in this game and made the gamers run from one corner to another. In order to give these friends an idea on how to run-through certain levels that are a bit more difficult here's a video of an entire gameplay of the title mentioned above. I hope this helps.
