Instant Online Action

Without any doubt, online gaming is the way of the future, so every new site with 3D games to play online with your old friends - or make new friends while having fun, of course - is a good occasion to have a party. Today, I am talking about InstantAction, an excellent site currently still in Beta stage.

Think Tanks on InstantAction

Developed by GarageGames, InstantAction offers console-like games with full #D graphics that look very good. For now, the only games ready for you to play are MarbleBlast Online, Screw Jumper, Think Tanks and Wideload Shorts'Cyclomite, with more to come in the near future, including the Fallen Empire: Legions FPS.

I guess I should say more, but you know the recipe already - good games, social gaming features, combined with a platform that is not limited by system resources, this is exactly what most people need for those few minutes of casual gaming that can turn into a real addiction!

For now, a low-end computer with Windows XP and Internet Explorer or Firefox should be enough to enjoy InstantAction, so...get in!

Age Of Conan System Requirements

Remember Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures? You know, the upcoming MMORPG that gave you the chance to pray your way into beta testing... Now, system requirements just became available, and they seem to be pretty high, a fact that may not be taken so lightly by many players...

Age of Conan

<-250x250 Square - left->When talking about Age of Conan, we should expect "a massively-multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) based on the world and works of acclaimed author Robert E. Howard. In Age of Conan, players enter Hyboria with thousands of their friends and enemies to live, fight, and explore the dark and brutal world of King Conan."

Unfortunately, the minimum system requirements already look like we're talking about Crysis here, and not a game that is supposed to attract thousands of players in an online universe -
OS: Windows Vista/XP
Processor: 3GHz Pentium IV
RAM: 1GB RAM
Video Card: Shader Model 2.0 and 128MB RAM: NVIDIA GeForce 5800 or ATI 9800.

When we arrive to the recommended system specifications, all hell breaks loose. While this may not be much above an average gaming setup one would buy as we speak, it's pretty high for most gamers currently playing such games, I am sure of that. Just check these -
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz (E6600) or better
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950GX2 or better
RAM: 2GB or more!

If this game proves to deliver the experience Funcom promises, I guess a lot of gamers will be upgrading their computers in the months to follow...

Infogrames To Grab Atari?

Only a few days after getting new forces ready for battle (I am talking about their new president, obviously), Infogrames announces a big move. Basically, this may fail, but probably everything will be sorted out somehow, since purchasing Atari entirely won't probably hurt anyone...

Atari logo

The news that emerged at the end of last week sounds like this - Infogrames came up with a non-binding offer to buy absolutely every single piece of Atari Inc. stock they don't already own. The price offered is $1.68 per share, and Atari's only response for the time being is that a special committee within its board of directors will review the offer and decide what to do about it.

In my opinion, this may prove as a smart move, since the Atari name is better known in the US, than Infogrames. Obviously, it must be approved, first of all, and then we'll see what happens next...
