Gothic 3 Add-On!

Gothic 3, released back in 2006, managed to be well received by the public, especially since the first games in the series managed to draw attention and already gained the Gothic franchise a faithful crowd of followers. Even prior to its release, in October 2006, Gothic 3 was nominated as the best game of E3 by IGN, and now it seems that Piranha Bites will finally release an add-on for it! In fact, it's official, not only a rumor, so let's find out more about it, shall we?

Gothic 3

Entitled Gothic 3 - Forsaken Gods, the official add-on announced today by JoWooD Productions will help you make a smoother transition to the upcoming Gothic 4 game, and will also answer some questions that were left unanswered by previous games. The story? Well, "Once more you take on the role of the nameless Hero and again you have to raise your sword in anger to save the world of Gothic. On your journey you will meet old friends - but be careful, some old alliances may not have lasted the test of time..." That makes things clear, right?

Well, Gothic 3 - Forsaken Gods is scheduled to arrive in the last part of the year, probably just in time for the holiday season. For now, this is all we got, but more information is expected to become public pretty soon, so be sure you subscribed to our news by email already, or at least keep us in your Favorites...

Gran Turismo PC?!!

I must confess something - good simulations always made me lose my nights in front of my computer, no matter if it was about history or racing, but I also must admit I was never too much into sport sims or "The Sims" series... Anyway, every time when I hear "Gran Turismo," something happens. Even a few days ago, I was in a store with a friend, and I saw racing on a TV. "Wow, racing! What channel is that?" In fact, it was Gran Turismo 5 Prologue but, until now, there was no chance to play this amazing game on your PC...

Does this mean we will get to play Gran Turismo on PCs anytime soon? Unfortunately not, but even the hope of such an amazing thing on my computer makes me think about those nights I will probably loose racing around...so let's see what do we have, shall we?

In an interview with a German magazine, Gran Turismo's project head, Kazunori Yamauchi, said "It is very very unlikely that GT will come out on another console. But perhaps it may come out on the PC."

The Chinese gaming market is a huge one, but PCs have the largest part of it, and so releasing this awesome game for the PC is a brilliant idea, the only problem being the extremly high piracy rate there. Anyway, as soon as this game arrives on PC, I'll be the first in line to buy it!

Panzer Command Reloaded!

In the last years, I've been pretty sad. The reason is the lack of new turn-based military strategy games able to keep me tied up to my computer as Panzer General 2 did, but I guess those times won't ever come back. Well, that's life - evolution doesn't really means you're going in the right direction. Anyway, finding out that one of those few good turn-based military strategy series remaining on the market, namely Panzer Command, got a major new release, is always good news, and today I must share this with you.

Panzer Command Kharkov

Earlier today, Matrix Games and Koios Works announced the release of Panzer Command: Kharkov, a game in which you have the chance to step back to early May, 1942, when both German and Soviet armies prepared major offensives aiming the same place - Kharkov.Panzer Command: Kharkov comes with a Random Battle Generator and a Random Campaign Generator, apart from the historical missions. According to David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, "Panzer Command: Kharkov sets a new benchmark for our series of 3D tactical wargames and we're very proud of the exciting new features and the historical content we've built into this release. This is really a major leap beyond the original Winter Storm release!"

The feature list of Panzer Command: Kharkov is very long, and I won't give it to you here. What you need to know is the price of this game - $39.99 US for the digital download and $49.99 US for a boxed copy with a printed manual, and the location of the official Panzer Command site. These being said and done, I will leave you rewrite history now...

Stephen King vs. Bill 1423

Sometimes I wonder how is it possible for Stephen King, the notorious "King of Horror," to get a good night's sleep, considering the (brilliant!) stuff he usually writes, but that's not the main topic now. After all, we should talk about games here, and that's exactly what we'll do. Probably you know that already, and if you don't, you'll find out now - currently, moves are taken, trying to introduce a law to ban the sale of violent (that includes horror games, of course!) games to kids, and Stephen King is against it!

Stephen King

Currently, the House Bill 1423 is being considered in Massachusetts, and if it goes through, any games depicting "violence in a manner patently offensive to prevailing standards in the adult community" will carry a legally enforced age restriction. Once it passes, this law will bring violent games in the same shelves with pornography, since selling them to kids would be a criminal offence...

Stephen King claims that such a law would be "undemocratic," and used a few logical arguments to prove his theory - US gun ownership laws contributed to more violent crimes than videogames, so it's not about passing through a law to turn selling games such as GTA or Doom to kids illegal.

So, what's the solution? Well, parents should "have the guts to forbid material they find objectionable" and "monitor their children’s lives," which sounds perfect to me. After all, you need laws to forbid your children things that your kids should be smart and well-educated enough to choose by themselves?

MLG 2008 Season Kicks Off!

I don't have to tell you that serious gamers can earn some nice cash, if they are good enough, because I guess most of you know what's that "professional gaming," so I'll get straight to the point - the 2008 Pro Circuit Season of the MLG!

MLG match

The American Major League Gaming is going to start the 2008 Pro Circuit Season with what seems to be its largest and most spectator-friendly event so far, with exclusive exhibitions from Bungie and Microsoft Game Studios, as well as Ubisoft. Add a wide range of giveaways and other activities from MLG's sponsors, as well as live broadcasts of top matches, and you get the idea!

One of the most attractive parts of this whole deal is the new Halo 3 map, "Blackout," which is going to be available to everyone for a hands-on just before its official release, with open gaming stations available since Saturday afternoon.

The MLG competition will take place at Meadowlands April 11-13, and will also be featured live on ESPN Saturday Night with more online broadcasts Sunday, so be there, or watch it, there's no excuse to miss it!
