Fallen Empire: Legions Public Beta

No matter what others may say, the future of gaming is online. The bandwidth available is impressive, in most countries, the computers of gamers everywhere are getting more powerful with each month passing by. Usually, I hate online FPS games, mostly because they are full of cheaters, and my skills are not suited to match good players anyway. Despite all these, there are some shooters I'll never forget, like the Wolfenstein series, the Quake series, or Unreal Tournament. Fallen Empire: Legions is not a notorious title yet, but looks good enough to make me interested, so here it is!
Fallen Empire Legions
Why isn't Fallen Empire notorious yet? Well, it just entered Public Beta stage, what were you expecting? More than just another shooter, Fallen Empire: Legions is a fully-featured 3D game that you can play inside your browser, so nothing needs to be installed on your hard drive. Great, now you can pretend you're working with more success than before!

According to Josh Williams, CEO of GarageGames, "Launching 'Fallen Empire: Legions' is a huge milestone for the company. Not only have we proven that technically the game can exist in a browser, but we are delivering on our promise to gamers of fun, 3D action games nearly any place they can get on the Internet."

While nothing is new, it's great to be able to play Deathmatch or Capture the Flag inside your browser, don't you think? To sign up for the beta, simply sign up at www.instantaction.com, and then get in the game. See you there! ;)

GTA 4 Characters

Goood...so we started with Niko Bellic, continued with his cousin, Roman, and ended up right in the middle of the McReary family. Now, we have to move on, and finish revealing all those GTA 4 characters helping this game to have the best story in the GTA series so far. OK, these being said, let's see who's left, shall we?

Kate McReary, with Mary Catherine Donnelly's voice "under the hood," is considered to be the only genuinely good member of the clan. After meeting Kate in the second section of the storyline, introduced by Packie, things are moving on to the point where she becomes Niko's girlfriend. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any picture with her, but if you'd like to help with that, please don't hesitate to write us or drop a comment!
Francis McReary
<-180x150 Small Rectangle - right->The corrupt police officer of the family is Francis. Francis McReary, voiced by Thomas Lyons, has some information about Niko's past, threatening to expose the past if Niko doesn't work for him when needed. Despite this, being a cop created a distance between him and his brothers - Gerry, Packie and Derrick, so Francis is a very independent member of the McReary clan.
Gerry McReary
The head of the McReary family is Gerry, pictured above. Voiced by P.J. Sosko, Gerry calls all the shots, currently working for the Pegorino family in Alderney - sabotaging a rival clan, known as the Ancelottis, to be more precise.

Berto Colon's voice was borrowed to Manny Escuela, a retired gangster from South Bohan, who managed to leave the past behind and now is trying to help others do the same. He's currently leading the "St. Mary's Community Project," having a documentary made about himself, during his struggle to turn the streets of Liberty City into crime-free areas.
Elizabeta Torres
Elizabeta Torres, pictured above, has been a successful drug dealer for over a decade. Voiced by Charlie Parker, she has recently become a drug addict, turning into a paranoid and delusional individual.

Playboy X is a hustler who was introduced to Niko by Elizabeta, owning a large penthouse suite in Algonquin, and usually doing business with Dwayne Forge in the past, a guy recently released from prison. In the meantime, Playboy X moved on without Dwayne. He requires Niko to do some jobs for him during the game.
Dwayne Forge
Dwayne Forge, pictured above, is very disturbed by the fact that his old friend, Playboy X, seems to have forgotten him, so there's a growing tension between them as the story goes on.

Ray Boccino, voiced by Joe Barbara, is an Italian mobster working for Jimmy Pegorino, and is trying to help Niko find someone. Introduced to Niko by Packie, Ray only seems to care about himself, but he needs Niko to run some errands.

Phil Bell, the image of Frank Bonsangue's voice, is a mafia goon, close associate of Ray Boccino. He's extremely paranoid and cautios.
Jimmy Pegorino
At last, we have Jimmy Pegorino, voiced by Tony Patellis. He's the mafia boss in Liberty City, or so it seems. As you can see in the picture above, he looks like a Godfather...so I guess any other comments are pointless.

These are the main characters in the GTA 4 story, but there are plenty of other minor ones, so I will conclude this article here, but I have to ask you something, before the curtain falls. What's your favorite minor character, who wasn't presented here? Tell us a few things about him/her!

GTA 4 Characters

Did you miss GTA 4? Don't worry, today we'll get back to it! So...what's left to say? We had GTA 4 cars, we had GTA 4 bikes, GTA 4 boats, and GTA 4 aircraft. No, I won't give you any new GTA 4 cheats yet, because there's something even better and more interesting to check out for now! Still...no idea? Obviously, you have an idea, because the title is obviously a spoiler. Yes, my friends, today we're going to talk about the men and women that bring the GTA 4 universe closer to reality and help building up the entire story.
Niko Bellic
<-234x60 Half Banner - right->To be honest, I have no idea who's more important in this game, because there are plenty of characters that come after Niko and Roman Bellic, so I'll just get into the game now, because that's the best thing to do. The images above and below should be pretty obvious - above, there's Niko, and below, his cousin, Roman.
Roman Bellic
OK, before we move on, let's see what Niko Bellic has to say about coming to the land of dreams - "Life is complicated. I killed people. Smuggled people. Sold people. Perhaps here, things will be different." On the other hand, his cousin, Niko, has been here for fifteen years, but his taxi business is far from being all right, and to make things even worse, various criminals have put a price on his head, especially because of his debts. Niko is being voiced by Michael Hollick, while his cousin's voice is provided by Jason Zumwalt.
Little Jacob
Little Jacob(pictured above), voiced by Coolie Ranx, is a Jamaican arms dealer. As the story progresses, Jacob becomes a trusted friend of Niko's, and can provide weapons for great prices.

Brucie Kibbutz(voice: Timothy Adams) is a fitness enthusiast crazy about cars, and a bit of a megalomaniac. He lives life to the fullest, surrounded by beautiful women, cars and expensive accessories. If Niko gets along well enough with him, he could get a free helicopter service, so don't overlook Brucie!
Mallorie Bardas
Mallorie Bardas, backed by Elena Harvey Hurst's voice, is currently dating Roman Bellic, but they don't have a perfect relationship. Early in the game, there are suspicions that she may have an affair with another character, but other than that, she doesn't have any influence on Niko or the flow of the story.
Vladimir Glebov
Patron of the Comrades bar, Vladimir Glebov, pictured above, is a Russian money lender, bully, and top international businessman, working for Mikhail Faustin. Voiced by Misha Kuznetsov, Vladimir is less important than he thinks, trying to win the respect of the bigger boys in town.

Voiced by Moti Margolin, Dimitri Rascalov is Misha Kuznetsov's associate, and they have known each other for a very long time, but in the last years, their friendship had to suffer...
Mikhail Faustin
...because Mikhail Faustin(pictured above), voiced by Karel Roden, despite the fact he's a powerful and commanding figure in Liberty City, has become a drug addict, and the subsequent paranoia is slowly destroying the relations with the close ones.
Patrick McReary
Last character in this episode is Patrick "Packie" McReary(voice: Ryan Johnston), an Irish hoodlum who is related to bent cop Francis McReary, living in Dukes with his mother and his sister, Kate. The McReary family had a few more members, and a lot of power, but they slowly got pushed aside. Anyway, we'll get back to them in the next episode...

Vega Strikes Again

Vega Strike sounds familiar? If it doesn't, you'd better get your hands on it, because I won't tell you anything about it! Why? Well, it's not about Vega Strike, but about Vega, and apart from the name, there's not much these two games have in common. Since Reflective Layer announced today Vega for PCs and Macs, let's see what is this all about, shall we?
Vega Deep Space Rescue
As you can see in the image above, there's nothing to blow your mind here, just another arcade game, perfect for killing time when there's nothing left to do. Featuring 10 levels, Vega challenges you to secure resources using one or mall rescue ships, for the survival of a damaged space station. With these ships, you can move resources around, which fall from above, to the secure landing zone. The prize? Points, of course!

To get a demo of purchase the full game, you can go to ReflectiveLayer.com and maybe even you'll end up finding more than just Vega to match your gaming needs. Good luck!

Call of Duty 5 Details

Without any doubt, Call of Duty 4 is a masterpiece. Don't come here saying that Crysis is better, because I have something you don't have anything to counter - please, tell me how is it possible for Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare to run that well on mid-range systems with details pushed to the maximum, while Crysis will surely crawl on those systems? I rest my case here, because we're not here to fight over COD4 vs Crysis. Something BIG is waiting, and that thing is nothing else but...Call of Duty 5!!
Call of Duty 5
<-250x250 Square - left->According to Activision, the fifth installment in the notorious Call of Duty series takes us back into the World War II, and is going to be called Call of Duty: World at War.

The fifth game in the series is taking things to a whole new level, but if they take a step forward as big as COD4 did, I am sure that COD 6 will require brain implants! Here's what Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch, has to say: "With Call of Duty: World at War, we’re redefining what it means to play a WWII game. We’re excited to give players a host of new enemies that employ entirely new tactics, as well as new, groundbreaking tools – like co-op and the flamethrower – to succeed in the epic fight."

The game will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and all these versions will support online cooperative play for up to four players, while the Wii version, expected to drop by pretty soon, will also have support for split-screen offline cooperative gaming! Oooh, my, remembering me about good old Nintendo times...
