LA Tale Closed Beta Begins

Tired of World of Warcraft already? Well, that happens, and I can't accuse Blizzard for this, because they managed to deliver one of the most solid MMORPG titles available on the market, but Age of Conan looks even better to me, although it's far from being perfect. Anyway, if you don't want to get involved too much, you can go ahead and try one of those dozens of MMOs still in Beta stage, some of them being in a "eternal Beta," and only a few in "closed Beta," as the one I'll quickly tell you today, LA Tale.

To be honest, I have no idea how popular this game may become in the future, because I signed up for a few MMOs until now, and some of them, even notorious titles, only managed to annoy me, and make me bored to death, and nothing more. I know most MMOs are not my thing, and I'll live with that, don't worry. Now, about those subscriptions to LA Tale, right?<-250x250 Square - right->

What you have to do is apply to the link above, and then wait. The signup process ends on the 21st of July, and between the 22th and the 30th, the 5,000 lucky chosen ones will receive emails about this. At last, on the last day of July, the Closed Beta test stage will open, if everything works well.

According to Don Choi, COO of OGPlanet, "The beta testing period will be the public's first opportunity to get their hands on our newly localized version of La Tale. We're eager to give the North American audience its first taste of this charming MMO, and to start hearing our players' feedback and refining the game accordingly."

This is it for now, but we'll get back to LA Tale as soon as the Open Beta period will start, hopefully.

Street Fighter IV News

If you are old enough, I am sure you remember those glorious arcade times - Pong, Space Invaders, Pac-Man...but that was happening almost 30 years ago! If we step one decade closer, we'll find the single and two-player fighting games that changed history, including Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. The last Street Fighter game, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future, was released back in 1999, but now we just heard some exciting news - Street Fighter IV is already here!

Unfortunately, it seems Street Fighter IV won't drop in our living rooms too soon, but it has already become available for those into coin-operated arcade games...so if you have enough room (and money) to get one of those big machines inside your house, you can enjoy this game way ahead the rest of us, because PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC users will have to wait, probably until the end of the year.<-125x125 Button - right->

Leaving the "coin-dependent" version of the game aside, it seems there's a lot left for the PC, PlayStation and Xbox gamers too, since Capcom has in mind a lot of goodies for them. Want to know more about it? Well, at least that, because other details, like pricing or system requirements, are still rather sketchy.

Here's what I know I would like - a deluxe package including a high-end joystick so I won't break my keyboard in two days, some bonus characters to enjoy, and let's not forget that we're in the 21st century, so having some nice cinematics for the end scenes, instead of the static images on arcades should also make sense. Other than that, I think we should keep our fingers crossed so the arrival of Street Fighter IV on computers and game consoles is not going to suffer any delays!

Angelina Jolie, Wanted On PC!

One of these days, I was reading some comments related to Angelina Jolie on a site, I can't remember exactly the site and the movie/image those guys and girls were talking about, but one thing is certain: Angelina Jolie is HOT, and I guess she'll remain this way for a very long time, and "Wanted" is the last movie to prove it. The interesting part is that we just heard something to make us dream about having Angelina on our PCs in a game...

...since Universal Studios Home Entertainment has just made public the fact that a game based on the movie is in the making! Just read this: "Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group (UPDPG) is creating a video game based on Universal Pictures' blockbuster action-thriller "Wanted", starring James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie. The game will be published worldwide by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and is being developed by renowned game developer GRIN, best known for its work on the Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter series and the upcoming Bionic Commando. The film, which was released on June 27, 2008, has earned $192 million in worldwide box office to date."<-180x150 Small Rectangle - right->

Now, there's one big question - could we get at least a glimpse of Angelina on our PCs, during the game's cinematics, or maybe even a 3D model of her, or not?

According to the developers, this game has been "between the hammer and the anvil" since early 2007, so I guess they will keep the promise of giving us the game before the end of this year, especially since Wanted - the game promises to be more than just a game based on a movie, with a completely new story, starting exactly where the movie left off, so this would be more than a sequel of a movie turned into a game, rather than just a game closely following a movie, and nothing more!

After going through the press release a few times, I had a sad revelation - Angelina Jolie and the other big stars in the movie are only mentioned in the first paragraph, the one I quoted earlier, so they won't probably be in the game, but let's hope for a surprise! After all, hope dies last, isn't it?

Devil May Cry 4 Cheats

Devil May Cry 4 is a great game to play on a console, and one that, once you have paid for it and got home, installed, and played for a few minutes, send you to the computer store once again, with only one purpose - to purchase a game controller! Just like any good game that appears on a certain platform, you are probably expecting for Devil May Cry 4 to have cheats, aren't you? Well, things look a bit different...

While I can't exactly give you Devil May Cry 4 cheats here, I will do my best to tell you all there is to know about the unlocks in this game. Things are pretty simple - you play the game, you finish it, and you get access to more stuff, then you finish it again on a higher difficulty level, and get access to even more game modes or cool stuff, like custom artwork. Here you have the secrets:

Unlock Super Nero & Dante Costumes - finish the game on Dante Must Die difficulty
Unlock more difficulty levels(hardcore ones) - after Son of Sparda, you can play on Dante Must Die, and then, Heaven and Hell<-125x125 Button - right->
Unlock full ending - to see the extended ending, be sure Kyrie is not being hurt for at least a minute and a half as the credits run
Unlock Bloody Palace Survival Mode, gallery & bonus artwork - finish the game on devil hunter or human difficulty mode
Unlock Son of Sparda Difficulty - finish the game on devil hunter difficulty

As you can see above, there's no such thing as Devil May Cry 4 cheats, but there are plenty of reasons to finish the game over and over again, discovering new things every time. After all, Devil May Cry 4 is far from becoming boring after being finished for the second or third time, so...time could be the only problem in discovering all the above, since I know a lot of people that consider that playing a game more than once, twice the most, is a complete waste of time.

Anyway, Devil May Cry 4 cheats or not, I hope the tips and tricks I just told you above will help you in your adventure. Good luck!

Dragon Age News

Let me say only one word: Bioware. If that doesn't ring a bell, it means you got your first computer earlier this week, or maybe you got here by mistake. Anyway, let's see a few more keywords: the Neverwinter Nights series, Mass Effect, the Baldur's Gate series, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, shortly known as "KotOR," or even Dragon Age: Origins. While the others have been released already, Dragon Age is still under development, and I just heard some hot and interesting news about this incoming RPG from Bioware. Want to hear about it?

Dragon Age: Origins is expected to be the "spiritual successor" to Baldur's Gate, with party-based combat, a deep story, and lots of things to customize. According to Bioware's CEO, Ray Muzyka, "Dragon Age: Origins is a dark heroic fantasy that doesn’t pull any punches. Our fans are in for the most emotionally intense gaming experience we’ve ever created, and we hope to surprise them with just how dark and gritty it gets!"

Expected to arrive in early 2009, Dragon Age has a very nice feature list, now confirmed in a press release, as you can see below.<-250x250 Square - right->

- Epic Party-Based CombatDragon Age: Origins will introduce an innovative, scalable combat system, as players face large-scale battles and use their party’s special abilities to destroy hoardes of enemies and massive creatures.

- Powerful MagicRaining down awesome destruction on enemies is even more compelling as players apply “spell combos,” a way of combining together different spells to create emergent unique effects.

- Deep CustomizationPlayers will develop their characters and gain powerful special abilities (spells, talents and skills) and discover ever-increasing weapons of destruction.

- Your Story, Your Way With its emotionally compelling story, players choose with whom they wish to forge alliances or crush under their mighty fist, redefining the world with the choices they make and how they wield their power.

- Origin StoriesPlayers will select and play a unique prelude that provides the lens through which the player sees the world and how the world sees the player. The player’s choice of Origin will determine who they are and where they begin the adventure, as they play through a customized story opening that profoundly impacts the course of every adventure.

Leaving the feature list aside, the cinematics look great, as you can see above. With this, I rest my case, and think harder about making a day last 48 hours, so I can have enough time for Bioware's games that I missed so far, but especially for those that are currently in the makin, like Dragon Age... Any comments?
