Wrath Of The Lich King Release Date

As you probably know already, if you subscribed to our news by email, or you're simply checking back from time to time, I managed to stay away from World of Warcraft until now, at least as a gamer. Anyway, with each new update, I get drawn more and more to this game, especially since I got to know a lot about it, only from my beer chats with friends, not to mention online sources, and the upcoming expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, looks really interesting, despite the fact it's going to be released on a 13th...

Yes, you heard that right - the Wrath of the Lich King release date is no longer something to guess, because it has been officially announced that the game "will be in stores on November 13 in North America, Europe, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Russia, and on November 14 in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia. The expansion will be available in Korea and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on November 18, and the launch timing for China will be announced at a later date."

The best part of it all is that, apart from the standard package, a special one will also be available, as the official site says - "Wrath of the Lich King will be available in both a standard edition and a special Collector's Edition (in select areas). <-250x250 Square - right->The Collector's Edition will contain an art book, behind-the-scenes DVD, exclusive in-game pet, and more."

I hope you weren't hoping to get out of this only with the Wrath of the Lich King release date, so here you have the features:

* Master the necromantic powers of the Death Knight - World of Warcraft's first Hero class.
* Quest to level 80, gaining potent new abilities and talents along the way.
* Learn the craft of spell augmentation with the new Inscription profession.
* Brave the harsh new continent of Northrend, the icy domain of the Lich King.
* Engage in epic siege warfare, deploying mighty siege engines to lay waste to destructible buildings in your path.
* Transform your hero's look with new character-customization options, including new hairstyles and dances.
* Explore perilous new dungeons filled with some of the deadliest creatures -- and greatest treasures -- on Azeroth.
* And much, much more...

Dances? I love dances! If you're not into WoW yet, just check the Archlord Emotes article, that could be a good game for you to start with into the MMORPG world, especially since it's free to download and play. Now, one more thing - if you want to check the details about the Collector's Edition, but especially if you want to pre-order it, go ahead and click the link above to visit the official page, it's going to worth your time, believe me!

Electronic Arts Vs. Take-Two – Game Over!

I don't know if you remember the story regarding Electronic Arts' plans to purchase Take-Two, and - if you ask me - there's not that much to remember, either. After all, last time when we talked about this, EA was decided to extend its initial offer, although Take-Two already refused it. In the meantime, some rumors and brief reports about the entire "battle" surfaced, but nothing really interesting. Now, it seems this is finally over, and I hope it won't come back from the dead a few times, as it happened with the Yahoo - Microsoft match...

Following a presentation from the Take-Two management team, EA finally decided to terminate the discussions with Rockstar Games regarding a takeover, without giving a specific reason. In a statement from EA, it is mentioned they still have "a high regard" for Rockstar Games creative teams and products(who could dare to say GTA 4 is not a great game, huh???), but <-336x280 Large Rectangle - right->
"after careful consideration, including a management presentation and review of other due diligence materials... EA has decided not to make a proposal to acquire Take-Two and has terminated discussions with Take-Two."

Soon after EA's news, Strauss Zelnick, chairman of Take-Two said they are still seeking business partnerships, being pleased with the financial performance of the company in the last 18 months.

"We remain focused on creating value for our stockholders and our consumers. This has been our goal since EA launched its conditional and unsolicited bid six months ago, a bid which was repeatedly rejected by our stockholders. As part of that commitment, we remain actively engaged in discussions with other parties in the context of our formal process to consider strategic alternatives. We're especially proud of the success we've enjoyed over the past eighteen months and we remain confident in our ability to generate value for stockholders," commented Zelnick.

They have Bioshock and GTA 4 in the portfolio, who wouldn't be confident in the future considering those? All I can hope it that their fans will also be satisfied by future releases, and not only the shareholders... but that's what remains to be seen!

Fallout 3 Survival Edition – No More

Survival is all about getting out of it alive, there's no doubt about it, but what can you say when survival...dies? No, I am not trying to recreate the meaning of words in the dictionary, it's just that Fallout 3 Survival Edition for PS3 has been sold out, even before the official release of the game! Now, that's what I call "success," don't you agree?

The IGN Fallout 3 blog just received some bad news, and here's the sad story for all of you who missed it:

"Just a head's up, we've received word from the folks at Amazon that the Fallout 3 Survival Edition for PlayStation 3 has sold out. <-125x125 Button - right->So if you're looking for it on their site, now you know why it's not there. For those wanting to order the Survival Edition on Xbox 360 or Games for Windows, we're told these are expected to sell out soon as well.

If you missed it, the Survival Edition includes:

-Fallout 3 (yes, it has the game)
-A life-size replica of the Pip-Boy 3000, the wrist-mounted device worn by characters in the game.
-Vault Boy Bobblehead: Your very own Vault Boy collector's item is direct from Vault-Tec.
-The Art of Fallout 3: Features nearly 100 pages of never-before seen concept art and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists.
-The Making of Fallout 3 DVD: An exclusive, inside look at Bethesda Game Studios and the team behind the game.
-Vault-Tec Lunch Box: A fully customized metal lunch box.
"

What a pity! Well, at least we're talking about the PS3 edition, so I hope to see the PC one showing up some day in the near future, and maybe I'll get to order one before it runs out of stock!
