Cheap Nintendo DSi!

Would you sell your old Nintendo DS? No, wait, I have even a better idea - what if you would simply give it to me, heh? Isn't that just great! Here's my confession - I would be really glad to get a Nintendo DSi for my birthday(that's in June, so no rush), and I already started looking for a Cheap Nintendo DSI, finding the great offer I will tell you about next...
Nintendo DSi
Just think about the Nintendo DSi for half the price, how's that? Awesome, I know, and that's exactly what GAME is offering to British gamers. The condition for this Cheap Nintendo DSI is very simple - you'll get a new one for GBP 74.99, as long as you trade in some old console or handheld. Currently, the price of the Nintendo DSi is around GBP 150, so I guess we'll see a sudden increase of demand for old handhelds...

According to Robert Quinn, operations director at GAME, "Our customers are very excited about the launch of the DSi, and all of our stores are fully geared up to take pre-orders and help customers understand all of the innovative features of the new machine. We're working closely with Nintendo to organise a huge launch, which is perfectly timed for the Easter holidays."

Unfortunately, I don't think they'll accept my old Tetris handheld to give me a cheap Nintendo DSi, but I haven't been able to find out exactly what are those devices able to make you elligible for this trade-in. Could anyone help me with that?

NASA MMO…RPG!?!

I don't know if you're into NASA software, but I think World Wind is a great tool for those who really want to learn a bit about the Universe around them without getting a headache in the process. To be honest, I always thought that NASA World Wind is one of the most amazing pieces of software I used, apart from Kai's Power Tools and Ultra Fractal. Now, it seems we're in for a big one: NASA MMO...RPG!?!

NASA MMORPG

Simply called "Astronaut: Moon, Mars, and Beyond," the NASA MMORPG seems really interesting, as it was described by the CEO of Virtual Heroes, one of the studios chosen to work on this project - "Players will pick a profession like a roboticist, space geologist, astrobiologist or mechanical engineer and work together as a team as they explore space and complete missions, establishing bases and outposts and traveling to the farthest reaches of the solar system. The game will offer both individual challenges and team-based objectives to encourage players to use real-life applications of science, math and engineering to unlock new in-game vehicles, spacesuits, robotics and mining apparatus that will propel them further into space."

Just as a side note, Virtual Heroes is one of the studios in charge of America's Army, so I guess the final result should be fine, only that I know they can come up with a better name than this one. NASA World Wind...NASA Space Race? Hmmm...NASA Universe Conquest? Nope... any ideas?

Dead Space For Wii

As most of us know already, Dead Space is a (great!) third person survival horror game, released back in October 2008 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, as well as PC, and one of the reasons to make me hate EA less for what they've done to the Need for Speed series... Did you notice something missing above? Yeah, you're right, there's no Wii version, but that's going to change, obviously. The only thing that remains to be settled is when this change is going to happen...
Dead Space
Until now, Dead Space for Wii was only mentioned once during a conference call by EA's boss, and there were also a lot of rumors about it. Now, it's all official - Dead Space Extraction will be the game built from scratch for the Nintendo Wii. Even more, this is a prequel leading to the events around Isaac Clarke's mission on the USG Ishimura from last year's Dead Space.

According to Glen Schofield, VP and General Manager of EA Redwood Shores studio, "We could not be more excited to extend Dead Space into an experience exclusive to the Wii. Nintendo has a wonderful history in the horror genre and we are thrilled to build on that tradition with Dead Space Extraction. As we were developing Dead Space, we realized that there was so much of the story going untold. Dead Space Extraction tells that story with all of the intensity, blood and gore that fans would expect."

Expected to drop this fall, Dead Space Extraction uses motion controls and a first person perspective, adding new weapons, enemies, as well as cooperative multiplayer. Not bad at all, but there's plenty of time until it gets released, so I am sure we'll find out more in the future.
