Fresh GTA 4 News

I guess I told you already that I failed in running GTA 4 on my computer, so what I am going to tell you today it doesn't really make me happy. As long as I won't get a console, I won't try to touch GTA 4 again! Damn, how I hate PC gaming from time to time... but let's look at the bright side - new GTA 4 content has just become available, and it's also an exclusive deal for Microsoft!

GTA News

The short version of the story is this - you have to get $20, then spend it on the "Lost and Damned" content pack for Grand Theft Auto IV, and the good part of the deal is that your silver subscription will bring you six free days of gold-level access to Xbox Live, once you have done that. Pretty cool, huh?

According to the official announcement, "For the first time ever, starting Tuesday, February 17 at 9:00 am (PST), Xbox LIVE multiplayer service usually reserved for Xbox LIVE Gold members will be completely free of charge for LIVE members while playing Grand Theft Auto IV or The Lost and Damned—the first exclusive downloadable expansion episode on Xbox 360."

Sure, that's great GTA 4 news, but what about the PC version? Well, I guess PC gamers can wait, since "This limited, Grand Theft Auto multiplayer promotion is applicable only to players of either Grand Theft Auto IV or The Lost and Damned expansion episode, and will end on Sunday, February 22 (11:59PM PST). Be a part of this unprecedented event and join the legions of Grand Theft Auto fans across the world to wreak havoc upon Liberty City."

Well, that's life, you win some, you lose some, but stand by for our Burnout Paradise PC review - that will surely avenge those who weren't able to play GTA 4 on their PCs, I can tell you that!

Gimmie5games, No More… Almost!

When it comes to casual gaming, TeaGames is good enough for me, but I would rather take my Powerball Techno for a spin instead. After all, if you work with a computer most of the time, I see no logical explanation for the need to play during your breaks. Breaks should be used to relax, not to keep staring at that screen, but it's obvious not a lot of people are aware of that. The bad part is that, as more and more casual gamers lose their jobs, casual games sites should see a decrease in traffic, or...
Gimmie5Games No More Eidos
...or maybe the truth is completely different, but one thing is certain: another one is getting near to biting the dust! Previously a part of the Morpheme Games Studio, picked up in 2007 by Tomb Raider's creators, Eidos, Gimmie5games is now headed towards becoming an independent team, and despite the fact the official claim is they'll continue to focus on Web and casual markets, I think they're headed down.

Why should I say such a thing? Just look at that site! To me, it looks just like a few other thousand similar Flash games sites that are swarming all over the Internet, but let's not be mean. Well, I was mean, not you...whatever.

According to Matt Spall, general manager of Gimmie5games, "This is the best route for all parties involved. We understand we're not the focus of Eidos' business right now, but we passionately believe in our business and this way the team here are free to explore new and exciting business opportunities."

I guess he's right, and despite the fact casual gaming sites are still going strong all over the world, I have to ask myself (you can answer this one, if you want, I won't mind at all) - "for how long?"

Anyway, to conclude the story, Eidos has sold back the rights to Gimmie5games.com and differencegames.com, so its core properties can get all the attention, as Rockpool Games, a mobile studio belonging to Eidos, has been shut down last month...

PlayStation 4 Graphics, By Intel?

If I had to choose a console tomorrow, I would surely go with the PlayStation 3. I won't get into details, but there's a game I am crazy about... I leave you the freedom to guess it, based on what I usually write about racing games. No, it's not Burnout Paradise. OK, that's as close as I'll take you to the answer, so let's move forward and talk about the PlayStation 4 graphics now, shall we?
PlayStation 4 funny
No, you didn't travel in time, the PlayStation 4 is not here just yet, but we already know some things about it. For example, we know it's very likely for it to drop the Blu-Ray drive. It's not a fact, just something you can figure out for yourselves by looking around...

Anyway, that's not the main story, because PlayStation 4 graphics may be pushed forward by Intel's forthcoming Larrabee GPU. No, this isn't a fact either, because a Sony spokesperson told ArsTechnica that "PS3 is still in its third year from launch and it is too premature to talk about the next-generation home platform. At this time, nothing concrete has been decided."

Speaking for myself, I would like to see the PlayStation 4 graphics being provided by AMD. There has to be a balance on the market, and I think Intel already has too much hype surrounding it, especially when the performance-per-buck crown of the budget section still goes to AMD when talking about CPUs, while the ATI GPUs are going very strong, from integrated graphics to the enthusiast market.

So...what's you guess on PlayStation 4 graphics? AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, or even some outsider? Drop your comments below, don't be shy!
