Release Date For Resident Evil 5? No, Better!

I don't know why you're still looking to find out about the release date for Resident Evil 5, because there's something even better out there. Oh, yeah, just as a side note - Resident Evil 5 is already available! Anyway, today we'll only mention briefly that part, because some great Resident Evil 5 figures are out there, waiting for you...

...and if you don't like what you see in the image above, then you surely need to see a doctor, or - even better - start playing Solitaire, and leave serious games to serious gamers. All right?

Just to get rid of that part, remember that the release date for Resident Evil 5 is behind us already, since the Capcom survival horror third-person shooter was released on March 5, 2009 in Japan and on March 13, 2009 in Europe and North America for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It quickly became the best seller of the franchise in the UK, and got a lot of positive reviews from gamers and the press.

Good, now collectibles started appearing, with Hot Toys from Hong Kong coming up with Chris and Sheva as 1/6 scale figures that feature an impressive amount of detail. This is the good part, but the bad part is that, apart from a bunch of pictures that appeared in a Hong Kong magazine and all over the Web, there's no official release from Hot Toys, so pricing and availability info should become available...someday.

Best F1 Game

Over a decade ago, I thought Accolade's Grand Prix was the best F1 game in the whole world, and there won't ever be something better. Fortunately, things started moving pretty fast in a few years, and now most young gamers who would see the racing games available in early 1990s won't be able to understand how could ever anyone enjoy such a junk. Gold today, junk in a few years...that's how the gaming industry seems to move, but the spot for best F1 game remains free, especially since I didn't see any serious Formula 1 sim lately.

Best F1 Game

If I am wrong and there's some awesome F1 game that I've missed recently, be sure to drop a comment and let me know about it! PC games only, please, thank you, let's move on, shall we?

The story is that Codemasters, the company behind so many great racing games, like the Colin McRae franchise, Race Driver: Grid or the notorious TOCA Touring Car series, is going to hit us one more time. No, they won't have Britney Spears featured in any game, at least as far as I can tell you, but they're going to try and fill the best F1 game position, throwing two games in the battle.

The two games were officially announced by Codemasters, and we know that the first one will be out later this year for the PSP and Wii, with the second coming in 2010 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. While the 2010 F1 game will be using the Grid engine, the 2009 one is more of a mystery, for now.

While Race Driver: Grid was (and still is) a great game, I am sure that Codemasters can come up with something better. To me, there's a pretty big gap in the PC gaming market left by Need for Speed's latest epic failures...

Battlefield 1943 Release Date

If I had a wish granted for my birthday, coming in mid-June, that would surely be to get a 120-hours day, or to have time stoping for a few months. The reason should be obvious, but if you're one of the new PlayerzBlog readers, I'll say it again - I missed a bunch of games so far, and I am talking about that kind of games one shouldn't miss, so...it all becomes clear - I don't want hardware, I don't want any new games, I just want the time required to catch up!

Battlefield 1943

Here's my greatest obsession of mine when it comes to gaming - World War 2. Should I say it once again that Panzer General 2 is the best game I have ever played? Whoops, I just said it! Well, these being said, let's leave all these behind and move to another great WW2 themed game, Battlefield. In fact, we're talking about an entire franchise here, and today the time has come to find out the Battlefield 1943 release date...

According to DICE, its Battlefield 1943 downloadable online multiplayer shooter will arrive on the PlayStation network, as well as on Xbox Live Arcade just in time for my birthday. Oh, yeah, sorry - you have no idea when my birthday is, right? No need to know, it's enough said that the Battlefield 1943 release date is the 15th of June. The rest of it is history.

Heh, don't worry, I won't live you staring at the sun, because there are only a few points of interest that need to be highlighted: US Marines vs the Imperial Japanese Navy, 24-player battles fought in locations like Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.

There you have it, brave marines! It can all be yours for only $15, or 1200 Microsoft points...and a serious slice of your free time, you can be sure of that! :)

Oh, yeah - one more thing - while the console versions will arrive right in the middle of June, as I said, PC gamers will have to wait until September. Just don't ask why...
