Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, One Thumb Up for its Fans
There is strict relationship between movies released in theatres and games having the movie’s theme. This relation is based on synchronicity, meaning if the movie game is not released on the market at the same time with the movie than its life-time on the consumers’ market is short or predicted to end up in a discount shelf. But apparently this problem seems to extinguish with the new release of the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”, since the game focuses on engaging multiplayer battles that are held between the teams of Decepticons and Autobots with a lot of explosions, characters to choose from, and robot-to-robot actions involved.

The digitally activated Transformers gives you access to different kits of destruction, such as: secondary gun machines, vehicle weapons, unique forms of attacking, and skills to devastate an entire action place. The ability to transform from vehicle to robot and vice versa is given by holding down a shoulder button, enabling you at the same time to make various helping moves during the fights. The single-player version consists of short missions (two campaigns – one for the Decepticons and another for Autobots, where you blow up enemies while you are fully equipped with racing and turbo boosting, ending up with final battles against the opposing leader) that are performed across some regions located in the west and east coasts of America. There is also involved a battle at sea when your Autobot is given the ability to fly over in defense of allied aircraft carriers.

The multiplayer mode is the one that seems to keep the image of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” still fresh and desirable to the players. Each Transformer is given a role to play, even if it is the one of a healer, sniper, artillery support, or speedy scout. The objective of the games requires a lot of teamwork, this one including the capture of the flag in the chapter called “Battle for the Shards”. The rhythm of the game is fast using massive robots that have firepower, and if it is played by opponents that are evenly matched the result is given by tensioned efforts that lead to exciting finishes. The moves are performed in a total freedom given by Transformers’ vehicle shapes, leaving you the impression that you have never played a multiplayer shooter before.
The graphics displays a series of very well created Transformers paying attention to the detail in an attempt to resemble the most to the ones in the movie. The flaw in the graphics is rendered by the world around them with environments that do not look real. But leaving this aspect aside, “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” has proved to measure up to its fans’ expectations.
