Fun Games For Couples

There are a lot of romantic games two could play, and I mean couples, and here are some ideas to get you started!

A lot of games in which you thumble down laughing with your partner are very good. In the classic Twister game, the box for playing contains a spinner and a mat made of plastic marked with colored circles. You have to spin the dial, and then to place a hand or a foot on the corresponding colored circle on the mat. The official rules say that a referee should spin the spinner, but when you play with your girlfriend or boyfriend, you could adjust the rules so that one makes the spinner reachable by his opponent. Winning is not a very well defined situation in this formula, but I think that fun is more important than winning.

Truth or dare is not a game just for teenagers and it also can be fun for couples too. The game consists mainly of asking a question, "truth or dare?" and according to the answer, the games continues with another question in which the other player must say the truth or with a challenge. The questions can belong to any topic, but take care what you ask your partner, so that you don't transform the game into a fight. If the partner chooses "dare", it's up to you to come with challenges. There are so many examples for these challenges, but it is always funnier when you invent them.

Roll the Dice requiters only a pair of dice, preferably different colors or styles. You should make a list on a piece of paper with all the romantic things you can do with the partner and count them from 1 to 6, and then another list with 6 places (kitchen, bed, shoulders, toes, etc). Each of the players takes the turn and rolls the dice and the challenge is to do what the dice combination says. Going along with the example, you might the kitchen-hug combination, and this means that you and the partner will have to hug in the kitchen.

Another interesting idea is to make your own game board. This is pretty easy and all you need is a piece of cardboard or heavy duty paper like card stock, and something to write for drawing a board. On each square you should write some actions. You can recycle old game pieces or small toys, and use them as your game pieces in this invented game board. At the end you can write on a square "Congratulations! Now that you won, the partner is all yours in the next 10 minutes!".

You could also make a romantic puzzle. For this you might have to pay some money, to make a puzzle with one of the pictures with you and your partner. You could spend a lot of time together trying to put together all the pieces. It is nice because it creates stronger bonds between you and the partner, and you can have a lot of fun reconstructing a puzzle.

Sometimes it is difficult to ask your partner a lot of details about his/her personal life, and a very easy method would be to play a game. If you would like to know more about the person next to you, then you should try playing a special and funny games. The players must write on some pieces of paper more intimate/detailed questions, what they would like to know about know about the other's life, then mix them up and each person then takes one little note from the box, or wherever you put them, and answers the question.

If you would like to play something special, you could try strip poker. Each of you wears no more than six pieces of clothing and then, with each hand which is dealt, the loser of the deal must remove one piece of clothing. This game is very good for hot summer days, and a tip for the guys: try to remove the socks in the beginning, because naked men which wear only the socks look pretty funny.

Another interesting and cheap way to spend quality time with your partner is writing messages on her/his back. This is tickling and fun in the same time. If the person who must guess is right with the answer, she/he can request anything from the writer. If the person is wrong, then you might want to get exactly the thing you have written on her/his back. There can also be helping options, like repeating a letter or saying it loud, but for this, the other must pay. Of course, in the game's frame, don't expect cash!

You can sometimes pretend that you are strangers, and that you meet for the first time. You can revival this way your first moments together, or outline another beginning for your story. This brings some novelty in the couple, and it is funny to talk to your partner like you would talk to a stranger, because you know her/him very well and it's funny to see how he/she distorts the reality.

Fun Room Decorating Games

Games which offer you the opportunity to play with decorations in a room are very interesting because they help you express your creativity, and they allow you create your custom designs for house rooms. They are fun for sure, and even if you convert a small bedroom into an office, or you rearrange the virtual basement, these games are a welcome addition into any home. These room decorating games allow you to see how a room would look if you arrange the furniture in a certain way, and see how much space you will get after all the moves done.

When working with small rooms, it is very important to get the best out of what you have, so it might not be recommended to place in a small room a pool table, or to overcrowd it with furniture. Some small classy pieces would be the best. You should think of placing first the most important things like sofas, beds, a wardrobe, tables and other absolutely necessary pieces of furniture.

If you want a small room to look good, you should think about placing items with various utility, like placing beds and sofas for relaxation, but in the same time entertaining elements, like TV sets, computers or music players. Having fun is possible also in small rooms. If you like poker, a small cosy poker table can be placed in a corner, or it can be the central element in the room, and you and your friends can have fun there. Another interesting game for small room might be Darts, which is a quite unexpensive form of leisure. When compared to pool, it is much easier and it occupies less space, and it is cool because Darts needs only a wall space and a set distance.

Of course you cannot do all these combinations in the room, because you might not have the time to do it, and it is a great effort to make all the changes when a new idea comes in your mind. For this, you can use special software for house decorating, or you can just play some funny games. These games are interesting because they provide you an easy and entertaining design tool, and they allow you have some relaxing minutes on the seat in front of the computer.

Decorating games give you some character, and they make this activity fun. I personally like these games because they allow you to be somehow silly. If I want to see how my room would look with 3 sofas, I can easily do that, and visualize this on the computer's screen. I actually don't have to bring those 3 sofas in the house and then see that it's a stupid idea, or that blue doesn't work with the pink of the rugs. These games offer players a lot of freedom, and they can even offer advice, because there are games which help you calculate the lighting system in the house, and they will tell you if the lights in the house are enough, if sun's light is enough during the day, and if you need additional lights.

These design combinations between the pieces of furniture you already own, and maybe new ones are practically unlimited, because you can arrange the house exactly the way you like, and you make this virtually, this is very important. You don't have to make all the changes, and then start it all over again because something doesn't fit well in a place.

Room decorating games have huge items libraries, and you can pick objects in various models, patterns, colors and even brands, because there are big retailers of furniture, accessories and other household utilities which are present in a lot of games. These games are another method of communication between these big companies and the customers, which can be found among the players of room decorating games. For example, someone sees a nice lamp in a game's item library, he/she can easily search for the object on the Internet and they are easily guided to the right place for purchasing the lamp. This is somehow a marketing instrument, and I personally like it because it is a pleasant way for potential customers to be redirected to the purchasing place.

Relaxation and creativity are brought together by room decorating games, and many of them offer you the possibility to save your creation and use it later in the real process of house decoration. Some games have many levels, and if you properly decorate one room, then you can increase the house's size, and express your creativity in larger spaces.

IKEA, the most well known furniture and accessories offers an online solution for customers, to see before purchasing how specific pieces would look into their homes. It isn't a game actually, but I find it an interesting tool for potential and current IKEA customers.

A game which is worth to mention here is Sims, in which you can create your house from the foundation, and all the items you place around have an influence on characters' mood, on their energy level or on their comfort. A lot of room decorating games are adored by children, because they are colorful and they allow them to create a special design for their rooms; they can also make competitions, like "who designs the most beautiful room?" or "who has the most beautiful pieces of furniture for children?". Children room decorating games have interesting characters, which guide them through all the process, and you can find games with Barbie, Kitty, Bratz dolls or even celebrities, which can suggest decorating ideas for the room.

Other interesting games are those in which you have to pass some tests, or play quizzes, and this is how you achieve money for buying furniture or expanding space. I personally like them because they are an easy learning method for children, and they can also have fun in the same time.

The range of room decorating games is quite wide and they offer plenty of creativity freedom

Sudoku Puzzle Games

Sudoku is a combinatorial, number-placement puzzle game based on logic, and its objective is to fill a 9x9 grid, in such way that each column, each row and each 3x3 boxes composing the bigger square, contains the digits 1-9 only one time. Euler is often mentioned as the source of the puzzle, maybe because his work related to Latin squares, but the modern version of the puzzle was invented by Howard Garns, an American architect, in 1979, and it was published in Dell Magazines. It became popular in 1986, when a Japanese puzzle company called Nikoli, brought it to the public with Sudoku name, and it became an international hit only in 2005.

Sudoku completed grids are nothing more than Latin squares, which have the property of no repeated values, in any of the 9 blocks of 3x3 cells. Dennis Berthier, in his book, "The Hidden Logic of Sudoku", proved that a first order formula doesn't mentions blocks, is valid for Sudoku, if and only if this order is valid for Latin Squares. The first calculation of the number of a classic Sudoku game solutions, with 9x9 grids, was posted on the USENET newsgroup in September 2003. There are quite a lot solution for only one grid:  6,670,903,752,021,072,936,960.

In the United States, Sudoku was published for the first time by Wayne Gold, in The Conway Daily Sun, in New Hampshire, in 2004. Now, this game is pretty popular, on PCs, websites and mobile devices. It comes with a lot of Linux distributions and versions for video game consoles have been already released, like Nintendo DS, PlayStation and GameBoy or Xbox. Just after 2 weeks after Apple launched its online App Store in 2008, July, there were already prepared 30 Sudoku games for iPhone and iPod Touch users. A very well known video game which includes Sudoku is Brain Age, which sold more than 8 million copies around the world. Nintendo released the Brain Age2 version, which brings 100 new Sudoku puzzles and activities.

This funny game has a strong link to mathematics, and especially with Latin squares (an N × N table which must be filled with n different symbols in such a manner that each symbol occurs only once in each row and in each column). This sort of puzzle can be solved with a variety of algorithms (backtracking, brute-force method, optimization/stochastic search, constraint programming and others).

Some Sudoku games seem to be very hard, and they can only be solved with more logical systems more complex than the human mind. Most of the players would categorize them as unsolvable, after trying many solving techniques. Computer programmers were interested in these cases more than the other players, and they tried to solve them and then generate more difficult puzzles.
