On September 17, 2009, Lima Sky LLC released "Doodle Jump - Be Warned: Insanely Addictive!" one of the top arcade games for iPod touch and iPhone running the second or third operating system for iPhone mobile platform. "Doodle Jump" was the most downloaded arcade game in five countries in only eight months (on a monthly calendar: United States, France, Austria, Germany, and Spain). Because this is a nice, funny game it has to provide good social networking for you to brag about your score. Therefore, "Doodle Jump - Be Warned: Insanely Addictive!" provides you the possibility to tweet your score. Believe it or not, this game is really addictive, probably because of its simple graphics and nice adventures (if you even can the game play "adventure").

However, "Doodle Jump" feels like a mini (or micro if you like this measurement more) game. Lima Sky simplified all the sophisticated features a game must have until the core. By doing so, you get a funny and simple addictive arcade game. The game play is pretty straight forward, respecting the casual game genre. Your missions is to control the Doodle, and to help it go as far as it can (up, down, jump, tilt, avoid black holes, and enemies) without getting the Doodle "terminated". The Doodle is a four legged "creature" who must jump on and off a series of platforms (consider them plates) in order to continue its journey.

The graphics are, well, simple, but that is the whole point. Simple graphics, for funny games, in order for you to relax at work, at school, on the go, or maybe in the comfort of your own bed. The animation, however, is quite good and provides a good user experience. You don't really get quality sounds, and it is needless to say, you don't get soundtrack. However you can easily listen while playing to your own playlists form your iPod touch or iPod function found on your iPhone.

The controls are intuitive, by just using all the features your touch screen provides, tilt to move right, or tilt to move left, and when you need to shoot just tap the touch screen of your iPod touch and iPhone. You can also equip the Doodle with a jetpack in order to improve its speed over s limited time period. During the game the Doodle will encounter several types of platforms such as moveable platforms, exploding platforms, broken platforms, and also disappearing platforms. You get three obstacles to defeat or avoid. The first category, monsters, provides with five different types of monsters (you have to shoot them). Black holes will appear in the game play (you will need to avoid these black holes).

The last category, UFOs are quite dangerous. Whatever you do, just don't jump under them, because these UFOs will abduct you and eventually and the game. Another nice feature in the combat mode is that you can jump on top the monsters to destroy them just like in Mario franchise. On the top left side of the display you will find your score while on the right top side the number of life remaining. This score will be included in your game's database, and will allow you to export them online, either on Twitter or Facebook. Also, you can challenge anybody to a competition using these online social networks accounts. Overall, "Doodle Jump - Be Warned: Insanely Addictive!" is a fun game, with a funny action and nice features. You can find it on App Store for only $0.99 price tag.

On August 31, 2009, SkyVu Pictures released "Battle Bears" one of the most funny action adventure games for iPod touch and iPhone running the second or third operating system for the iPhone mobile platform. SkyVu Pictures is an animation developer headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. They also have studios in Vietnam and Singapore.

Originally, SkyVu Pictures was specialized on computer generated animation (used mostly in advertising and several entertainment projects). Later the company specialized in animation software. "Battle Bears" is their best game for iPod touch and iPhone. If someone would summarize its presentation, he or she would probably say it's one of the funniest games, providing a great sense of humor. Believe it or not this game is one of the best shooter games you can find for your iPod touch or iPhone.

The graphics are excellent. You get the latest 3D graphics with a lot of animation. The story line is quite simple (after all this is a shooting bear game). Your bear, Oliver, is stuck in a crowd of pink bears with their only purpose to hug you until death. In order to keep Oliver alive so that he can star in its next film, you have to arm Oliver and shoot all the enemies in order for your brown bear to survive. "Battle Bears" offers 20 levels of shooting fun, with animated movie clips inserted along the game. Because not only the graphics matter in one game, SkyVu Pictures offers interesting controls.

You can choose to play with one hand or with two hands. By default you can find the second aiming style available when you first play the game. However, you can choose from Options to change the aiming style into one had. The two hands aiming, require for you select on the touch screen with your thumb were you want to shoot, and then tap with your other thumb the touch screen to actually shoot. The controls are easy to use, and in time will prove quite fun. Beside the normal game mode, "Battle Bears" also comes with a Survival mode. This game mode is really fun, and delivers an increasingly intense battle. With each and every level finished you are being given a score. Also by finishing levels you are unlocking new weapons. These weapons will prove to be useful as more and more teddy bears will appear (depending on your current level).

To provide a nice user experience, SkyVu Pictures also included an original soundtrack. You can also listen to your own playlists from your iPod touch or iPod function from your iPhone. You can find "Battle Bears" on App Store in the Games category with the latest version 1.1 for $0.99 price tag (a true bargain). The 1.1 version added to the original version anew checkpoint (therefore if you die in level 4 or 5, you can now reload from level 4 and not from beginning).

Also the 1.1 version brings improved motion and better responsive controls. As new features you get a new tutorial movie and a new score meter for the teddy bears killed. If you already own the latest version then you should know that "Battle Bears" version 1.5 is on its way, and will bring beside new levels, new weapons and new enemies (new teddy bears, or new funny stuffed animals, we don't know yet, we just have to wait and see).
