Every child or grown-up has heard or used some Lego in his life. Lego is a line of construction toys, made by the Lego Group, a company from Denmark. The Lego products consists of very colorful pieces that can be combined with each other to make buildings, structures and many kinds of cool things. The small pieces may be accompanied by other items such as gears and tools or minifigures. No matter what you are building, you can always dissemble the pieces after that, and use them to build something else. Or if you really like what you have build, you can leave it that way and make a new figure with other pieces. The Lego toys first appeared a long time ago, back in the 1930’s in Europe, and slowly they taken over the whole world. There are not just Lego toys, but you can also find Lego movies, games, competitions and even  amusement parks with the theme Lego.

In this article we are going to talk about some of the free Lego games online. You can find some on other sites too, but if you don’t want to waste time searching for them, just go on lego.com, at the “play” section. The free games that you will find here are divided into 5 categories : action, creative, exclusive, preschool and puzzle games.

Now let’s take a game from each category, play it  and  then discuss it. For an action game we’ll choose the one called “Cave convoy”. Here you will have to take your Lego power miners vehicles on a rock-busting , crystal collecting journey through hidden caves below the surface of the Earth. Your goal is to avoid obstacles and rock monsters while steering your vehicles over crystals. Use the mouse to control each vehicle and click on the up/down buttons around each vehicle to change the vehicle’s location. Each power miners vehicle has a special function, so click on the arrow at the front of the vehicle to activate it. For example the Thunder driller breaks through walls and barriers and it’s special ability is to make tunnels underneath obstacles. The Crystal Sweeper knocks out rock monsters and destroys all obstacles in his path. And finally the Claw Digger smashes rocks in his path and bashes through any kind of obstacle. When clicking on an obstacle(other than a pit) you will destroy it with dynamite (if you have it of course). You will be able to purchase dynamite and other items between the missions. When a vehicle hits and obstacle it will take damage. If you have a repair kit, the vehicle will repair automatically, and if you don’t you will lose that vehicle. The further you advance in the game, the more vehicles you will control, and the more territory you will cover. So keep playing until you ran out of vehicles. Good luck!



Now let’s take a game from the Creative category, and we’ll choose the Lego digital designer. This is a game where you will be able to build with Lego bricks on your own computer. So it is not even necessary to buy some real Lego bricks to build something, because you can simply play this game. Of course the real thing is much more fun, but you can try this game too. This one is a little bigger and more complex than a simple flash game, so it requires download. But don’t worry because the installation doesn’t take so long, and then you will be able to make all kinds of interesting things with the Lego pieces.



In the “exclusive” games category there are just 2 games: The city train game and the Brick game. So let’s try the first one. First you can choose between classical and modern trains. In the game you will have to use just the arrow keys to control the train. The game is very similar to the classic “Snake” game. Your train will be just like a snake that moves across the screen in all the directions, and you will have to collect passengers. For each passenger that you collect the path behind your train will get bigger and bigger making the train more difficult to control. Collect as many passengers as you can! The game is over when you hit into one of the margins, or when you hit with yourself (when you have a very long train). So good luck!



Let’s play another train game, but this time one from the “Preschool” category. We’ll choose the one called “Duplo train driver”. First you also have to choose the type of train, between passenger or a cargo train. Then type your name. Since this game is for kids, it is very simple. First you will have to click on the train to get it started. Along the way he will face some obstacles in the road, and you will be given three options to choose from. For example what should you place over a river? A barrier, a bridge or a piece of rail? Just click on the item that you consider to be correct. After that there will be more other  fun activities, from where your child will learn many useful things about trains and railroads.



And now the last category of games from the site, the Puzzle games. Let’s play the Turbo tracks. The race is about to start and it is up to you to make sure the Lego racer reaches the finish line safely! The track has been shuffled and only you can fix it. The object of this game is to use the track tiles to connect the start and finish line. This is done by using the mouse to select and click on a tile. Each click will rotate the tile one-quarter turn. Also keep an eye on the timer! As soon as the time runs out, the Lego race will begin, whether if you are ready or not. If the track is correctly set, the racer will reach the finish line and you can go to the next level. If the puzzle is not completed in time, the racer will run into the wall. Of course, if you complete the puzzle early, just hit the Start button to begin the race before the time runs out. This will give you bonus points. Good luck!

Among the games for kids there are many educational games. While playing them kids can learn how to read, how to count, how to draw, they can learn different names of objects and animals, but they can also learn how to type on the keyboard. So this is what we are going to talk in this article : the learning to type fun games.

Let’s begin with the one called “Typing speed test”. Your goal here is simple, just type the text as quickly and as accurately as possible. This is both a game for kids to learn how to type, but also for adults to test their writing speed and accuracy. You will have a text in front of you, and you will have to type it exactly like you see it on the screen. Be careful to respect all the capital letter, the spaces and the other signs from the text, because you can easily make mistakes. Whenever you are typing correctly the letters will turn in blue, and when you type them wrong they will become red. If you made a spelling mistake just move forward and type the others correct. Don’t try to erase or to go back like you are used to, because these will also count as spelling mistakes. In the upper part of the screen you can see the time in seconds, the speed and the accuracy. We are guessing that wpm means “words per minute”. After you have finished the first text you can submit your score, and then try again, with a different text. Good luck!

Now let’s move on to the next game called “Typing monster”. Here you will have to beat the monster by typing in the magic spells. Don’t forget to destroy the fireballs by typing the numbers on them. This can be a very fun game for both adults and kids. You will have some short sentences written, and you will have to write them as accurate as possible. In this game when you will make a mistake the cursor won’t move forward, so you get the chance to correct that error. But if you see a fireball coming, forget about the sentences, and write the numbers first, to make the fireball disappear. If too many fireballs will hit you, the game is over. So good luck!



The next typing game is called “Arachnid falls”. Here you must type letters and numbers that are on the arachnid’s back to avoid them capturing cherries and your ice creams. Type the word bomb or life when you see them written on flying bugs to get extra bombs or lives. Press the space bar to use a bomb. This game is also really fun. First there will be just numbers falling, then letters will appear, then shorter words, and so on until it gets more difficult. The game is nice, and your child can easily learn how to type faster. But the game can also be played by an adult, to test his agility and to make a high score as possible. After the game is over you can submit your score and compare it to others.



Now let’s play the “Qwerty warriors” game. Your goal here is to type the word that appears below each enemy. Hit enter key to fire, and if the word is spelled correctly, then the enemy will be destroyed. Survive as long as possible to get a high score. You can adjust the quality, volume, and you can press the Ctrl key to pause the game and then quit it from the pause menu. There are 4 levels of difficulty: easy, medium, hard and impossible, so choose which one you think it’s the best for you. The game is also really fun. Try to type as fast as possible, otherwise the enemies will shoot you, and you will loose health. Also type the other words seen on the screen (for example “detonate” to activate a bomb, or “fullhealth” to restore your health). You will find many more others games that allow you to learn how to type or to test your typing speed, but the time allows us to present just one more. We’ll chose the one called “Dance Mat typing”. First you can choose your character, between a funny goat called “home row”, a octopus called “ei” and a chicken called “ru”.  Each has a different graphic and tasks, and this is mostly a game for beginners (mostly for the kids).



You will be learned how to place your fingers on the keyboard and you will get the chance to warm up, then to use your left hand only, your right hand and then both hands. You will learn just a few letter at a time, so you won’t get confused. The game is really fun and useful for the kids, so enjoy it!

Whenever you want to have a little break from work, or to relax after a long day, or just to have some fun on the computer, you should definitely play a free online game. These are very simple, easy to play and also fun games that you will find on the internet. Just search for them, and you will find thousands. They don’t require any installation, because you just play them from that site. They usually have simple controls (probably you will use only the mouse and some keys), and they can be really funny. Some of them are featuring real character to make the fun bigger. Now let’s take some random games and discuss them. We’ll begin with a Christmas game, because there are just a few days left and Christmas will be here :). Let’s choose the game called “Santa rock star 2”. It is a fun game, especially for the fans of rock music. There are two modes to play: basic and rockstar.  In the basic mode you will use the keys A S D K L to hit the notes in the correct time. When your frost power is ready, press the space bar to double your points. In the rock star mode you will have to use the keys from 1 to 5 to hold the strings and then press the enter key to hit the notes in the correct time. Also hit the space bar to double your points when the frost power is ready. There are also three difficulty levels: easy with just 3 notes, normal with 4 notes and hard with 5 notes. In this game Santa is actually the biggest rock star in the world, and his is on tour to rock the world, from pole to pole. There will be three different locations and each one has different songs. The notes will fall pretty fast, and you will have to react really click to press the correct key. Enjoy it!

Another new game from the site is the one called Damn birds 2. In this game you will play as the character of a statue, and your goal will be to shoot the pigeons that want to poo on statues. You have to use the mouse button to aim and shoot and the keys from 1 to 9 to select a different weapon. Or simply press the TAB to switch to the next available gun. When you run out of ammo, press the R key to reload. But of course the weapons will require money, and you will have to make them by yourself. For each pigeon that you shoot you will gain a few dollars, so try to shoot as many as possible, because the best guns are very expensive. The graphic of the game is really cool, and the statue, the birds and the guns are looking really good. Sometimes even the weather will change and it will begin to rain. But this is a very good thing for you (the statue), because it will wash the poo away from you. Each time a bird poos on you, the defense level will grow, and the game is over when that bar is filled up. Not only that there will be different guns as you advance in the game, but the birds will also be different. Some of them will be bigger, some smaller, some faster and others  slower and also some will die from the first shot, and others will be more resistant.

Let’s take another random game, for example the one called Starlight. It is an unique online game, and your goal is to find a viewpoint where stars form a picture, before the time ends. Use the mouse to rotate the stars, and if you can’t find the picture you can use the “Show solution” button. There are three different game options: Relax, where you won’t have any time limit, Time run -  where you will play as fast as possible, and Timer where you must finish the game before the time runs out. There will also be lines between the stars to make it easier for you to find the image. You will notice that if you move the mouse anywhere on the screen, there will be just some lines on dots, and no image. But you will have to move it in the indicated spot, and you will find the image much easier. Actually this is the case just for the first levels (until you get the idea of the game), and after that you will have to find the image all by yourself. It can be pretty difficult, but you will be very satisfied when you will find it. First move the mouse faster and in larger moves until you find the approximate idea of the image, and after that move it very very slow until the image is correct. When you will find it, it will automatically highlight and you will be able to move on to the next level. There are 64 levels, enough for you to have a lot of fun. Good luck!
