Barney & Friends is a famous children’s television show that was originally produced in the United States of America. It aims very young children from ages 1 to 8, and it had become famous all over the world. The series was first aired in 1992, and the main character of the TV series is a purple dinosaur (Tyrannosaurus Rex) which is always happy and tries to learn the kids all sort of things through songs and dance routines. He is a stuffed animal likeness and his theme song is “Barney is a dinosaur” (which is sung to the tune of “Yankee Doodle”). Even though the Tyrannosaurus Rex was a carnivore dinosaur, Barney likes to eat many kinds of food, such as fruits and vegetables ( probably to learn the kids that it is good to eat fruits and vegetables) but his favorite food is the peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of milk.

Among his dinosaur friends you will find Baby Bop, which is a three year old green protoceratops. She carries with her a yellow blanket and sings the song called “My yellow blankey” to show that this thing is very important to her. Her favorite food is macaroni with cheese and pizza. The bigger brother of Baby Bop is B.J., which is also a protoceratops dinosaur, but an yellow one. He is also older and he has 7 years. His theme song is the “B.J’s Song” and he wears a red baseball cap and red sneakers. His favorite food are the pickles.

And the last friend of Barney is Riff, which is the cousin of Baby Bop and BJ, and he is a six year old orange hadrosaur. He wears green sneakers and his song is “I hear music everywhere”. And this is because he really loves music. He also likes to invent things and is a fan of marching bands and parades, just like Barney is. So here are all the four dinosaurs in the next image:

As you can see they look really cute and harmless, and this is just one of the reasons kids really love them. But they are just the main characters, and in each episodes there are also many other people appearing. Some appear like real humans while others are disguised. Today we are going to talk about some of the Barney fun games found on the site. When going in the “Jungle friends” category you will find three games: catch the monkeys, every animal talks and jungle friends music jam.

Let’s begin with the “Catch the monkeys” game. Whenever you will browse the site you will hear the voice of Barney saying to you what each button does, and learning you different things. Whenever you will enter a game, the voice of Barney will tell you exactly what you have to do. In this game there will be monkeys appearing behind tress, behind bushes or from the grass, and you will have to catch them before they disappear. Now let’s play the “Every animal talks game”. Every animal talks in a different way and in this game your child will learn these sounds. You will first here a sound, and you will have in front of you many images with different animals. You will have three clovers in front of you and you will have to click on the one with four leaves. Then the leaves will be more and more mixed together, making the finding of the right one more difficult.



In Japan, at the Cherry Blossom festival you will have to click the buds on the branches and the cherry blossoms will bloom. The mouse cursor will have the aspect of a big glow, making the clicking a little more difficult. In Brazil at the Carnival, you will have to help Barney to dress up for the parade. Just click on the arrows from the left and right side of the screen to change the clothes of Barney. But his relaxation is interrupted by his creator which is Doctor Neo Cortex,  so Crash must defeat him in order to restore peace and quiet on the islands. We already mentioned in previous articles that the topics of the free online games are really diversified, and there is a free online flash game with anything you can possibly think of.  So of course there are many games inspired by the console video game series. And today we are going to discuss about some of the many free fun Crash Bandicoot online games. Let’s begin with a game that is actually the original version found on the Sony game consoles, but is a free online version. It is simply called “Crash Bandicoot” and it is found on many sites, one of them is http://www.y8.com/games/Crash_Bandicoot

Of course in the original game you would play using the joystick from your game console, but here you will play using your keyboard. The keys you need to use are: the left and right arrow keys to move Crash around, the up arrow key to jump, the down arrow key to duck and the space bar is the action button. For example when pressing the space bar Crash will spin really fast, destroying boxes and other things around him. We don’t for sure if this was the case in the original game, but here in the online version you can  play in any of the levels you want.

The first level is called “peaceful wall”, level 2 is called  “the 51^st crate”, level 3 is the “snow joke”, level 4 is the “crash smash” and level 5 is the last one, and it is called “final cutter”. But after completing level 5 the game is not over, and you will have to defeat the big bass, which is Ripper Boo.

We just don’t seem to find any other free online games with Crash, so we’ll just take this game and discuss more about it. So let’s begin like it is normal, with the first level called “peaceful wall”. Just step next to the first portal (or any other depending on which level you want to begin the game with) and press the up arrow key to make Crash jump into the portal. Then he will be transposed into that specific level.

In the upper side of the screen you will see the number of apples collected so far, the number of wooden boxes destroyed so far and also the number of remaining lives. Just get near a box and then rotate using the space bar and go into the box to smash it.  Some boxes will bring you different items or apples, while others (for example the green ones, or the boxes close to a TNT) will kill you. So be careful and avoid them. Simply jump over them and you will be fine. But if you will spin into them, you will make them explode and Crash will become an angel – so you will lose a life, and start the level all over again.



The action of the first level takes place somewhere on a green field with trees and other things like that. As you advance in the level, there will be some turtles getting in your way. Simply jump on them, or spin into them to kill them. When you reach a box containing the C letter, it means that you reached a checkpoint, and if you die you can continue the game from this checkpoint instead of starting from the beginning of the level. When hitting a specific box, you will be taken to a bonus level, where you will have the chance to collect more apples and destroy more boxes. You will go on like this for a short time, and then you will complete the first level and move on to the next.

The next level will be somewhere on a land covered just with earth (so there is no grass) and of course the level will be a little more difficult than the first one. Instead of turtles your enemies will be carnivore plants that just can’t wait to eat you. The goal of each level is to collect the purple diamond, and of course get to the end of the level. With each diamond collected you will fill the purple liquid that you will see on the level selection place. By filling up the entire tank, you will be able to unlock the final monster, and of course try to defeat him and finish the game.

Now let’s move on into the third level, and here you will play on a land covered with snow. Be very careful when you are walking on icy surfaces, because they are really slippery, and after you stop walking Crash will slip a few more meters. And this will easily throw you into the dynamite boxes, so watch out! In the forth level you will play on a rainy weather, and on a land full with dangers. One of them is that big round rock that you will see, and that will fall right on you if you are not careful. To avoid it you will have to move very fast. At some moment the rock will be stopped by a building, but then another rock will fall and get after you. So you will need to try a few times to complete this level. And finally let’s see how the fifth level is. Here you will play in some kind of a dungeon. Be careful at those green round surfaces because they will go down if you stay for a long time on them. So move away fast!

Of course this is a racing game, with jet skies, and your goal will be to make air tricks and also win the race riding on your jet ski. You have to use the arrow keys to steer the vehicle and the Z, X, C keys to make tricks. Also collect the coins for more points and avoid the obstacles in your way.
