Activision Got FreeStyleGames
I don't know if you remember B-Boy for PS2, but here's the precious info about it - while the game was released by SouthPeak Games, the studio that worked on it was the UK-based FreeStyleGames. B-Boy was a pretty successful title, and maybe that's exactly the reason that lead Activision into acquiring the little British studio. Today, we'll try to see what's going to happen with FreeStyleGames under the Activision banner, especially since it seems plans have been laid out already...

According to the FreeStyleGames website, "As of today FreeStyleGames will become part of Activision and join their illustrious list of internal development studios. We have been in on-going discussions with Activision in relation to our current projects and over the last few months they have presented an offer to acquire the company," so this is more than just a rumor.
Good, so we know that. Now, let's see what's up with those plans I mentioned earlier, shall we? According to Mike Griffith, president of Activision Publishing, "FreeStyleGames has an award-winning team with a history of developing innovative and creative music-based games and they are uniquely positioned to help us expand our leadership in the genre."
Hmmm...music games... To be honest, I always enjoyed listening to music or going to shows, but music games seem to me like something out of my reach, for now. Anyway, this is just a personal thought, since some of my friends are crazy about Guitar Hero, for example - exactly the game Activision is currently working on, localizing content.
As long as everyone is happy at FreeStyleGames, all I have to say is "Good luck, guys!" and hope future titles will get better and better.
