Be Different This Christmas

I’m sitting here looking at my Christmas tree and aside from that feeling of pride for decorating it myself, I feel like I want to take all the garland and lights and globes out of the tree and redecorate it again and again. I can’t wait to see what present will be under it on the morning of the 25^th.

I discovered an online application that allows me to do just that: redecorate the tree over and over again. It may not be as much fun as the real thing, but it gives you the chance to put up a Christmas tree that you can have all year long without having to take it down. Gifttreez is the name of this new Facebook application and even if it’s quite simplistic, it has a deeper meaning and it provides a special way of spreading the Christmas spirit.

If you have a Facebook account, browse this application and install it on your profile. Choose the best looking tree out of those 6 which are available and invite you Facebook friends to join. Many of them probably never heard about this application because it’s brand new (thank you, GreenPixel). Let them know about the fun of sharing gifts and decorating Christmas trees just by sitting in front of the computer.

When your friends join you, you can visit their trees and vote for them or send them gift. When you vote for a tree, you receive 1 points and the friend you have voted will also receive 2 points. The next best thing is putting up Christmas decorations into their tree. Just click the second option which is available underneath the tree and a new small window will appear which provides a list of possible decorations that you have to put in the tree. Along with the gift you are supposed to write a message, which can be Christmas cheer or a special thought (you can even tell some long distance friends that you miss them) and then send the message.

For every such action you get 10 points and the person that receives your gift along with the special message, you receive 5 points. They can read the message on their Gifttreez profile. When you receive gifts, they will appear in your tree and if you move your cursor on a gift (you don’t have to click it) you can see who sent you the gift and what they wrote for you.

When you have 750 points you can exchange your current tree which is small with a medium one or even with the big sized one if you have 1500 points to spend. We know that to many of you this application may sound pretty basic and boring but it is a special and different way of wishing happy holidays to your online friends. We welcome this application on our Facebook profile to show the other that Christmas spirit can also be spread around the internet and, besides, it’s much easier that sending our Christmas postcards.
