Flash games are the very definition of accessible fun. If you ever end up on armorgames.com, kongregate.com or others you won't get bored too easily. Over the years, we have witnessed different eras in the flash game development. By eras, I mean the types of games that most people play.

The first so-called flash “game” I ever played involved a gerbil and a microwave. Now, to be fair, that wasn't much of a game, more like an interactive animation. In the past six or seven years, there have been two major flash game eras. The first one has been, without a doubt, what I like to call the “Tower Defense” era. NO matter where yo looked, I think seven out of then people played at least one TD game.

The first TD I ever played is Desktop Tower Defense. The action takes place on, you guessed it, a desktop; by which I mean the top of the desk, not the Windows desktop background. You need to position and upgrade your defensive turrets in such a manner that the incoming hordes of “creeps” don't get by your towers. Of course, once this rave started, more and more games like this started to appear like mushrooms after raining. The second era is what I call the “Crush the Castle” era. And you can still see this today; it's closer than you think. I am talking, of course, about the “Angry Birds” game that somehow manages to get the users' attention even after performing tasks that are quite repetitive. But let's not forget: it all started with a game called “Crush the Castle”. It's all about catapults in this game. The king gives you orders to eliminate some building and you have to execute these orders so you can get better and better at hitting stuff with oversized rocks. The fewer swings you take to crush the members inside the castle, the bigger your score will be.

This era actually evolved into what I would call a phenomenon: the “Angry Birds” game. This one follows the very same rules of “Crush the Castle”, but instead of people, there are pigs in the castle and instead of soldiers, there are birds; and they throw themselves in suicidal style into the walls. If I understood correctly, these pigs stole some eggs from the birds. And of course, the birds got a little angry and started throwing themselves at the pigs' fragile establishments. I wonder what era awaits us now. As time passes, people will start looking for something new in flash games and that should really get developers started. I think that with a little luck, puzzle games like Bloxorz will take over and then we'll see enough clones of that, too.

If you are an American you have surely heard about Family Guy. I don’t know if you know but Family Guy is pretty popular in America and not only; the weird and crazy thing about this is the fact that a great deal of the American population is fond of Family Guy and on the either side there are a lot who can’t stand this cartoon. Many say that Family Guy is nothing but a failed copy of The Simpsons; this aspect is depicted in a Simpsons episode where Homer makes a lot of copies of himself and one of the copies is Peter Griffin.

If a movie or a cartoon is very popular then somebody must make it into a game and this is how everything starts. As you already figured out by now I am going to talk to you about Family Guy and the fact that besides the fact that this is a cartoon it was also turned into a game.

Today I am going to present you a nice and catchy game which unfortunately after you play it five or six times you kind of get bored; but if you challenge yourself every time in completing the task in a very short amount of time; everything will be just fine and very funny. The game that I am talking about is called „Family Guy Match”; I don’t know if the title of the game helps you figure out what this game is all about; even though you get it or not I am going to tell you. The game is about you finding the matching picture in a very short time. You have a set of pictures which are very scrambled and you will have to find the pairs in order to make them disappear; if you are fast and lucky you will complete the task in a very short amount of time. Actually this is the idea of the game, to pair the cards in order to finish in a record time; this is the main challenge of “Family Guy Match”.

The game is not that complicated and it becomes catchy when you decide you want to compete with yourself and beat your own record every time. There are many Family Guy games which can be found either on the Internet (look out for the free ones because there are some) and you can also find them in specialized stores. The games are not that pricey and I don’t advise you buy them to your 10 year old child because it is not appropriate at all. So, try this game and others and then pick one and stick to it until you finish it.

It is impossible for me to list you all the fun games that there are; the games that I am going to present to you are very subjectively classified as being funny and challenging in the same time. Games have always been a source of amusement and competition since they were invented; and until now they didn’t lose their main purpose and that is: to entertain and to help us socialize.<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The first funny game that I want to talk to you about is called :”Plants vs. Zombies”. This is one funny game which offers you a whole lot of levels and other challenging modes that keep you wide awake and entertain you in ways that you can’t imagine. The graphics of the game are very well developed, the characters are cartoonish and not at all scary and the plot of the game is simple and it offers you the possibility of juggling with the characters. This is a tower defense type of game, you will have to plant some plants on your lawn which shoot all kinds of vegetable missiles which harm and kill the zombies that want to eat your brains. You have to pass some levels in order to get to the final one where you will have to fight with a zombie doctor and his zombie robot. Two words describe this game: challenging and funny.

Another game that you are familiar with is Zuma’s Revenge which I am sure that most of you played or at least tried to play. This is not much of a game but as the game with the zombies and plants, this one too is very challenging. The main plot of this game is for you to match certain colored balls before they are eaten by a big head in the ground. The matched balls disappear and step by step you will have to destroy all the row that is given to you by the game in order to win the round; the most important thing is that you don’t let the balls to pile up and get eaten by the scary face in the ground.



Snail Mail is another fun and very easy to play game which allows you to experience the wonders of being a rather fast post-snail. This snail has to deliver some letters and others but in order to get to the point where it is supposed to deliver them it has to go through a lot of narrow strips which are supposed to be streets. in its way it encounters a lot of obstacles which hurt it or even kill it; you have to make sure that the snail doesn’t fall over the edge because you will lose a life. The challenging part about this game is the fact that you have to collect some packages on your way to the delivery point and you will have to do it in a record time.

There are a huge amount of games which are funny, interesting and very entertaining; these games can be bought over the Internet or you can look for them in stores.
