Split and Slide
We all know how easily can children get dirty during playtime. Almost as if they are intentionally doing it. Maybe they are. But this is exactly why they will really enjoy the next idea of outdoor activity. You should buy a plastic tarp of no more than 50 feet and some ingredients that are generally used for making banana splits – fruit syrup, ice cream, chocolate and caramel syrup and even some mushy fruits. Gather them all in a big pile at one end of the tarp. To be sure that they will slide well, you can also add some oil cooking. Then line up the kids and let them roll down into that heavenly mixture. If you do not want to have headaches when you will be washing their clothes, you can let them only wear a bathing suit. Now let the fun begin.

Blind walk
The blind walk game is… nothing else but a blind walk. Only that the path was previously analyzed by all the contestants. You, as the responsible adult, will have to prepare the route with all its obstacles. Let them fix it in their mind and then make them go from the start line until the finish line blindfold. If they do not make too well, you can animate the competition by allowing the others to offer verbal indications. Someone will have to keep the records of the finish times. As usual, make the winner feel proud with a some sort of recompense.
British bulldog
Here is an idea to make kids release their energy. Make two teams put side by side, in a line, allowing them to hold their hands. The purpose is getting to a single team after the opposite one was left with no members. By taking turns, every participant will have to run towards a child from the other side and try lift him into the air, yelling “British bulldog!”. If he succeeds, he will get back into the camp with a new member. Otherwise, he will stay caught in there. The main risk would be for the one that is lifted up to fall and suffer an injury, so pay attention. However, in the end, they will all sleep for quite a while after finishing this exhausting activity.

Blind snakes
If it’s summer and hot outside, take all the children in your backyard and prepare them for a funny game that involves sprinklers… Establish a starting and a finish line and bring in between these two several sprinklers. The task would be for every child to make this route without getting wet at all or staying dry as much as possible. For the little ones to find it even funnier, make them turn places at the faucet for controlling it by turning the sprinklers randomly. The prizes should be figurative – candies, ribbons or what else you think they might enjoy. And make sure that after this innocent amusement they will change into dry clothes.
Advice
If you have run out of ideas, just ask the kids. Seeing you are really interested into helping them, they will feel free to come with the craziest ideas. Just take care to see all the dangers and keep them safe.
