Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Not even a year has passed since the superlative game Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds came out that the company Capcom came out with a new version of the game called the Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

The reasons for this new release are many. One, although the predecessor was fun to play with for both novice and expert players, there were many issues related to it. These included the unstable characters such as the Dark Phoenix who was very powerful, the combo glitch that let you run a series of moves that did a lot of damage and the online module that was unresponsive.

And although the aforementioned issues could have been resolved by running a patch, Capcom decided to come out with a newer version of the game that includes some new extra characters and a few more game modes as well. The plus point is that it is launched at a cheaper price compared to its predecessor minus all the hindering bugs.

There are twelve new characters in the new version. Half from the Marvel’s roster and the rest from Capcom’s. The quirkiest entry from all the characters in the game is the lawyer Phoenix Wright from Capcom’s comical Ace Attorney series. This character just seems to bumble across the screen but if in the right hands he becomes a devastating addition to the gallery of heroes, monsters, villains and aliens. From the Marvel’s line-up we have Dr Strange, Ghost Rider and Iron Fist. These characters may not be household names but they definitely do add variety to the roster.

Each and every fighter in the game is one of its kinds and you could find yourself spending a lot of time just mastering the moves of a single character.

From all the new game modes, the biggest attraction is the Heroes and Heralds mode. In this mode you can create your ultimate three character team and gain ability cards that give your team special powers such as invisibility and speed boosts.

This game can be played by a single player offline or you can go online to gain the multiplayer experience. This game is apt for fans who love action packed games. The game might be a tad too boring for a casual player. The game much like its predecessor is highly suitable for novices and expert fighting veterans.

The responsive controls and configurations make it a lot of fun to play with. The imagery of the game is done in a super wide color palette. The game is quite similar to the older version but all the new additions make it very entertaining and fun.

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is definitely for the entire fighting game fan crowd. If you haven’t played the earlier versions of the game then you should definitely take a look at the Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. You can skip this release if you’ve played the earlier version of Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

QUBE-The Puzzle Game

Toxic Games’s latest launch takes you to a secret passage where you have to work your way down by moving blocks

Q.U.B.E. short form for Quick Understanding of Block Extrusion is the latest launch by Toxic Games. The game takes you to a secret passage from where you will have to find your way by solving puzzles and moving blocks. When you play this game you will experience a sense of nostalgia especially if you have played the Valve game, Portal in the past. However, the games are not similar in any regard except that they look very similar.

Disappointingly, although Q.U.B.E. belongs to the puzzle genre, it fails to create the kind of intriguing and fun world that Portal or Valve created. In Q.U.B.E. there is no story created and therefore you will feel as though you are playing for no reason or goal. Mystery blankets the game right from the beginning, while it may generally be a good thing it somehow does not work in its favor. In the sense, while playing the game you are suddenly introduced to a character without any information such as name or background of the character. You are just able to see the character and therefore have no idea as to why you are there in the first place and what you are supposed to do.

You find yourself waking up in an elevator moving downwards and all you know is that you are slipping on a pair of super-gloves that have penlights at its tips. And then you may find yourself in this sterile facility that has stark white walls. The room is filled with colorful intermittent blocks which can all be handled differently. For instance, the blue blocks can be stepped upon in order to raise it in the air and the red blocks can be raised by touching them with the super-gloves. There is a nice tutorial that the game takes you through. The tutorial explains everything you need to about the game.

Q.U.B.E really shines with its puzzles that have been worked out logically. The puzzles are very challenging to keep you intrigued to continue to the next level, but never a headache to solve. Plus, the game does such a fantastic job in training you on the basics that you will find yourself playing like a pro in no time. You can never get bored with Q.U.B.E. because the puzzles keep changing constantly. You are constantly put through various scenarios, plus new block types are always being introduced in the game play.

Although the game play is really good, the real problem lies within the actual basis of the game itself. You feel lost in the world of this game because there is no personality or basis in the game. The lack of a timer or score keeping board just puts you off and you are left feeling hopeless. The only thing that keeps you intrigues is that what the next puzzle holds for you. But you’re not sure why you are playing the game and solving all the puzzles and where it will lead you eventually.

The only right thing in Q.U.B.E. is its brilliant puzzles. Apart from that there is very little scope of it being a great game. You can play this game if you love solving puzzles but do not expect anything more than that.
