Prince of Persia 2008

Prince of Persia is one of those game franchises that always managed to stand out of the crowd, and - at least to me - all the games from the series were great. In the Prince of Persia trilogy, Princess Farah had no effect on gameplay, but now, Ubisoft Montreal wants to change this, by adding Elika to the game, the Prince's female cohort. If you want to know more...just watch the great trailer available below!

<-250x250 Square - left->Didn't you get it yet? Well, here's the short story - our Prince finds himself in a beautiful oasis, after being lost in a sandstorm, but this beauty is only an illusion. An evil spirit, Ahriman, breaks free from his prison and begins corrupting the outside world, but this time the Prince won't fight alone - Elika, one of the last remaining Ahuras (the guardians of Ahriman's prison), is going to stand by his side.

Obviously, all the above is just the beginning, but since there's some time left until we get to see this game on our computers, the new Prince of Persia game is just another item added on my "wait, seek and purchase" list...

Street Fighter IV Platforms

1987...can you believe it? More than two decades have passed since Street Fighter made its debut on arcades, changing the gaming world forever. Designed by Takashi Nishiyama and Hiroshi Matsumoto, the game placed you in control of Ryu, a lone martial artist who competed in a worldwide tournament, spanning five countries and no less than ten opponents. Now, after a very long road, and a lot of games, comic books, movies, and so on, the Street Fighter franchise is going to hit us with a new title, Street Fighter IV!

Street Fighter IV

<-250x250 Square - left->Today, Capcom just confirmed that this "next gen" fighting game known to the world as Street Fighter IV, will arrive on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, as well as Windows-based PCs.

According to the press release, "Street Fighter IV features a mix of returning favorites such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile along with new characters created for this game, such as Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus."

While the arcade version of the game is expected to launch in July, specific dates for the console and PC versions mentioned above still have to be confirmed, so until then, let's dream about what we are going to get...

"Characters and environments are rendered in stylized 3D, while the game is played in the classic Street Fighter 2D perspective with additional 3D camera flourishes. Six-button controls for the game return, with a host of new special moves and features integrated into the input system."

Turok For PC

Hunting is not one of my passions, but hunting dinosaurs is surely something many of us dreamed one day. Anyway, we're not going to talk about Jurassic Park here, because I have a subject that's going to keep you occupied for a longer time, that's for sure. Its name? Turok!

Turok 2008

<-250x250 Square - left->While the Turok character appeared in 1954, the first Turok game appeared 43 years later - Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, for the Nintendo 64 and PC. This game was followed by Turok: Battle of the Bionosaurs for the Game Boy, the same year, and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, in 1998. Since then, 3 more games in the series were released, but the last one gets back to the roots, being simply called "Turok."This year's Turok is available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and the PC version has been officially announced by Touchstone yesterday. With a suggested retail price of $49.99, Turok for PC allows you to play with the mouse and keyboard or a game controller, and features a very interesting story-driven single player mode, as well as multiplayer gaming for up to 16 players.

"Fans of Windows-based PC games have been excited about the opportunity to experience Turok on their favorite platform. We are confident that Turok delivers a unique gameplay experience that will make their wait worthwhile," said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Touchstone.

Need I say more? The dream is over, now get your black ops commando boots, impersonate Joseph Turok, go to a mysterious planet in the future and start hunting dinosaurs!

Hellgate: London 1.2

Did you get your hands on Hellgate: London so far? If you hesitated because this game had its share of problems, now you should be (almost) out of excuses, because the patch 1.2 has been finally revealed officially, after a previous release to an exclusive bunch, as a Beta. Anyway, before moving on and reading about this patch, I suggest you to go and read PlayerzBlog's review of Hellgate: London first.

Hellgate London

To install the patch, simply click the "Update Available" button in the game. Now that you know this, let's see what changes brings version 1.2 of the Hellgate: London action RPG, shall we?

Since the list is extremely long, I will give you only the general changes here, leaving the rest of them for you to explore, if you are really interested.

"Based on the number and depth of balance changes to skills in this update, certain characters will be provided a "respec token" that allows them to reassign their skill points. This token is automatically placed in the character's inventory and can be used at any time.

• The timer and quest requirement have been removed from the mini-game.
• Fixed a bug where chat entry became visible in the Character Select screen after logging in and then logging out of the game.
• Fixed a crash bug associated with exiting out of the Character Creation menu.
• Players now only need to make a Normal Mode character to be able to make an Elite Mode character.
• Fixed a bug which caused audio and sound effects to sometimes stop playing.
• Adjusted difficulty of the Nightmare endgame. Decreased the ramp of the damage penalty that players face against monsters higher than their level.
• Fields from different sources can now stack. Please note that the graphics from new fields still override those of previous fields.
• Players must now wait 5 seconds before they can re-enter a Hellrift.
• Fixed a bug which caused weapons to disappear when swapping weapon sets in the middle of performing certain skills.
• Fixed a bug which caused the /played command to display the incorrect amount of time played.
• If a player dies during (or just before) a cut-scene begins playing or the game begins loading, the re-spawn options menu will come up after the cut-scene or loading screen is completed.
• Vendor inventories in Nightmare difficulty should now be stocked with Nightmare-level items.
• The Shock effect now deals damage immediately when it's applied.
• Several character and monster animations have been improved.
• Fixed known Blueprint exploits.
• Fixed a bug which sometimes caused files to require unnecessary patching.
• Fixed a bug which caused the mini-game to become stuck if the player zoned to town or quit the game immediately after completing a round of the mini-game."

The very looooong list with all the changes can be found on the official Hellgate: London site, so feel free to check it out!
