Javelin

Javelin is the new weapon introduced in Americas Army game. In this game, each player undergoes hard training based on the training simulator or Javelin based skills. Players get a training to identify enemy targets and assemble their weapons in battlefield conditions. Every qualified player will get to hold only one Javelin as it weighs around 60 pounds while all the non- qualified players can support qualified players by carrying spare Javelin tube in order to reload the Javelin.

Player can call out Enemy Spotted Command in case of danger. There is a line of sight that is designed for in-field communication and pre-mission planning. Team Leaders and Squad can keep eye on their soldier throughout their mission in order to have better coordination and also for soldier’s welfare. Players can switch their map on full screen on a press of key and can check out their target and enemy point more correctly and in detail. There is a level with the name of ‘Eagle Tower’ that every player has to play as this level is the part of Future Level Training System application. Weapon Familiarization is a new feature that includes instructions about how to use M9 Pistol, AT4 Armor Rocket and other deadly weapons so that player should know how to use these weapons when needed.

Explore the Army is the new feature added in this game for those who don’t have player account for this game. Overall this game has got all those features that you are expecting in a war game, so have a trial round of ‘Americas Army: Special Forces’ and share your experience with your friends.

FPS (First-person shooters) games are a kind of 3D shooter game. They feature a first person outlook with which the player watches the action through the eyes of the player protagonist. The prime design component is combat, largely involving firearms. They have no similarity with light gun shooters, a similar genre with a first-person outlook. FPS games use conventional input devices for movement but light gun shooters used light gun peripherals. The best FPS games are harmonized below. Scroll down to pick your favorite.

Wolfenstein

This game was released on 5th May, 1992. It is famous as the grandfather of first person shooters. Wolfenstein 3D gives players the feel of William B.J. Blazkowicz who tries to flee from Castle Wolfenstein and oust the Nazi regime. Though historically imprecise, the game was and continues to be a treat to FPS buffs.

Half-Life

The game shot Valve into one of the most illustrious developers in the industry. Players never saw themselves as Gordon Freeman. It is played totally in first-person mode. An experiment at Black Mesa has done wonders to the FPS genre at large.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Released back in 2007, this game set a novel standard for military-based shooters. In its online mode, this game offered great quantity of customization and upgrades. It ended up being grand experience for those who enjoy multiplayer online gaming. The single player mode was fairly good, but the online approach was something which other games offering online modes had to observe.

GoldenEye

Released in 1997, GoldenEye was the true deal for the FPS genre. It brought mainstream FPS games to consoles in quintessence. The game was wonderfully famous. People loved its remarkable background score, its multiplayer deathmatch modes and ground breaking stealth elements for finishing objectives in single player mode.

Doom

Doom made first person shooters a trendy genre. Several developers made a ton of Doom clones after its release. The main character of the game was a nameless space marine which made the player feel more involved in the game.

.

Bioshock

This game weaved an incredible plot which kept players engrossed in the game. It was ingeniously implemented in the gameplay system. Released in 2007, it is most certainly among the best 10 FPS games.

Quake

After the genre was revolutionized by Doom, Quake upped the bet by featuring some of the top 3D visuals and environments. It was also among the few games of its kind playable over the internet than on a local network. In the game of Quake, the player turns an un-named protagonist who is sent to a threshold in order to prevent an enemy code-named Quake.

More games in this list include games like 2 Duke Nukem 3D, 5 Counter Strike and Half life 2.

FPS games offer the player to experiences the action through the eyes of a protagonist. The above mentioned best PFS games will take you to the fantasy land of shooter games from where you would not like to come out.

Combat Arm game is much more similar to other commercial games like Ghost Recon, Counter Strikeand Call of Duty etc. Combat game has got number of different modes to play like One Man army, Capture the Flag, Elimination, Search and Destroy mission, Bombing Run, Seize & Secure etc. One of the best things with Combat Arm game is that it is based on total experience; it uses total ranking based system. In this game, the player has to complete objectives by killing enemies and then you will get one level up along with the reward points in the form of Gear Points GP and we can use these GP’s to buy new weapons. Once you got end up with these Gear Points, you can also choose another option of buying weapons from the black market.

While buying weapons from black market, you will notice that they are entirely different from one that you bought using your Gear Points. This is because Black Market weapons have no rank or level and there are some weapons that can be purchased from Black Market only. Every weapon has life time of 1 to 90 days depending upon how killing they are. Combat Arms has almost 4,000,000 registered players and this game has lot of features. Combat Arm is a Modern Warfare PC game that is liked my almost every person who played it once. You can download access keys of this game and can play this multiplayer game free of cost. Combat Arms game is developed by NexonCompany that has got specialization in multiplayer games. Combat Arm game is much more similar to Counter Strike. Combat Arms is based on solid multiplayer engine that has got unique GUI interface.

This game has an ability to locate your friend in game that is online on the internet. Player comes in active mode as soon as they start playing game using modern weapons and player can upgrade their experience based on their performance in previous game. There are two modes of Combat Arms, one is Elimination or Search and another is Destroy. In this game you will get 4 maps that are located in industrial settings. This game is player addicting and models or levels of this game is smooth. This game has got tremendous weapon sound.

Multiplayer mode of this game makes up major content release of this game. This game gives you real combat locations and you can make up team up to 16 members along with location maps. For this game you need to have 2GM RAM and 640 MB Graphics Card and can run on high graphics settings. So if you are looking for a game that suits best to your computer system, you can go for this game. So don’t waste your time, it’s time to pick one copy of Combat Arms.

Halo is a series of science fiction games that were created by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The games are featuring the adventures of Master Chief (who is a human super soldier) and his companion of artificial intelligence soldiers. In his missions Master and his soldiers will fight against a theocratic alliance of aliens and against a parasitic organism known as the Flood.

<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->

The Halo trilogy of video games has been consider to be the best FPS (first person shooter game) on a video console. The game became more and more popular and demanded by gamers, and the Halo 3 sold more than 170 million dollars worth of copies…and this is not the number of the overall sales, and it is the number of sales made in the first 24 hours after the release! Even though the game is originally for consoles such as Xbox, Xbox 360 or Windows PC-s, there are also many free online Halo games on the internet.

And about these kinds of games we are going to discuss today. You will find many of them and one is the “Flash Halo CTF” game. The rules of this game are quite similar many other FPS games and your goal is to capture the enemy’s flag, before he captures your, and also to make a lot of frags. The frags are specific to the FPS games, and the difference between kill and frag is that an enemy that has been fragged can respawn (play again), so the kill is just temporary. This flash game is horizontally scrolling, so you can move just forward or backward, and you won’t have a 3 D perspective like in other FPS games.

Use the left and right keys to move your soldier, the up arrow key to jump and the space bar to shoot. When getting close to a vehicle press the CTRL key to get into it. And then you can use the arrow keys to drive the vehicle, and the space bar to shoot from it. Before starting the game you can choose the number of captures that are necessary to win the game (from 1 to 99). You will be in one side of the map and have the blue flag, while the enemy will be on the other side of the map with the red flag.

All you have to do is get to the other side safely, capture the enemy flag and then get back to your base with it. But along the way enemies will get in your way and of course you’ll have to kill them. They are quite very easy to kill, and you won’t have any problems. As we already said, the enemies will respawn after a few seconds, and they will get back right from the place you killed them. So even though you killed an enemy an moved on forward, he will start again and still get to your flag. But don’t worry because you will kill him while he is trying to get back to your base. You can shoot the enemies to kill them, or simply run over them with the big vehicle. Good luck!

In October 20, Gearbox will release “Borderlands” in North America, a both RPG and a shooter game, that appears to be counted among the games that were head titles on the 2009 list of new releases. “Borderlands” is planned to be an RPG and a shooter, but actually it is perceived more as a shooter. In this game the player has to make use of his quick reflexes skills in order to tag the foes in their weakest points; the foes present themselves in a shape of humanoids and monstrous creatures; for these last ones, the player has to pin in their mouth or in different vulnerable spots behind their armor. Being not skillful with targeting the player’s life will not last too long.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
So you play as a shooter, but all this time you are in the hands of statistics that will affect your weapon’s accuracy, or it can bring a lot of damage to your playing. Choosing a specific type of weapon, you are able to become more familiar with its use, in this way boosting the rating of your class’ shotgun that leads to improved accuracy of your shots. Your skills are also classified, the game scoring you one point for every skill that belongs to five character levels. The class nominated for soldiers was tested and the result lead to a division of the soldier’s skills in medic, infantry and support branches.

In your unfolding of skills your character is allotted aids, such as scorpio turret, in order to fire at the foes next to you in the battle. It depends on you how you decide to allocate the points, and according to this you will get weaponry upgrades such as guided missile upgrade or, for the one who reaches the of the medic tree will have health improvements upgrades. Your weapons (pistols, combat rifles, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, energy weapons as well) are endowed with special effects such as fire rounds or acid blasts or electrical discharges. To guard yourself against death you have a spring of health from where you can take ‘supply’ and a shield that can be upgraded and will be recharged after damage is done. In case you find yourself in a close-to-death state, you are given the option to crawl and aim to kill some enemies nearby, thus you would be able to get back on your feet.

The game offers also a tutorial not before entering the option of picking up a class and a name for after that to be guided by a talkative tiny robot that will teach you the basics of motions and shooting. At the beginning to make the things easier for you, you are simply facing the killings and collecting variety with few possibilities of gaining access to machines’ vendors, allowing you the option to purchase grenades, weapons and even health packages. After this guide tour, you are cast into the game with different levels of combats and different types of enemies, but no further details are to be displayed; this part is left to the players to discover in the October release of “Borderlands”.

‘Activision’ has decided to postpone the release of “Singularity” until the first quarter of 2010, because, as it was declared, it needed to be separated from the competition revealed by the holiday marketplace. This decision is mainly seen as the Activision’s desire to lay a distance between Singularity and Wolfenstein, so long as they are so similar one to another, well at least they look like being the same from far distance, but if you play them you’ll figure out the difference.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Singularity is an FPS featuring time maneuvering where the alteration of game’s time has an influence upon the state of singular objects. Targeting some objectives may lead to their destruction and once their ruins being found you are able to restore them. The mechanic of the aging and restoration is constructed in such a way that it generates some attractive puzzles. Everything that is destroyed seems to work in your favor, creating paths for you to continue your way along the game. But it is not something that you can pass through at your own will; the puzzles that are displayed apparently lead to a single solution.

To manipulate the time there are other features incorporated such as targeting at human foes and make them to age transforming them in horrific ghouls. The purpose of this feature is not quite that clear, but there are some other utilities presented with the restoration and aging feature, for instance finding a destroyed box that once restored it reveals ammo and useful items inside.

The island where you play is loaded of messy leftovers from the Russians strange experiments performed by them in the 50s. And the fact is that you are able to view into the past to spot items that belong to the past and drag them into the present. The fun part happens with the explosive barrels that are pulled from the past amidst a firefight in the purpose to be chucked at your foes; you can catch and reverse projectiles using them like rockets, and with adequate timing you can boomerang an RPG out of the air.

Beside all these powers you are offered a feature described as a telekinetic thrust that doesn’t damage too much but it reveals itself to be a useful tool to fight against your devilish enemies. Some of those creepy corpses can slide between a state of tangibility and the one of ethereality. While they are tangible, you can shoot them into pieces, but being ghostly, you are quite restricted in that you can’t do pretty much of anything.

The controls of the game are not sensitive at all, and the demo presented, failed to teach players how to use the field of skills, but this is mainly because of the demo’s poor construction and not a problem of the game itself. “Singularity” looks like “Wolfenstein”, but while playing it offers a totally different experience and a good one indeed.

Spending some time with Left 4 Dead – part 2 that contains Swamp Fever and Parish campaigns, one may wonder if in case of a zombie apocalypse he should after all choose wilderness instead of city. The Swamp campaign is about survivors running to seek for a refuge in a community which refused the help of some military forces. In the first moments you live under the feeling that you are OK, but shortly after this you realize that actually you are in a swamp with all the locals watching. The Swamp is the only mission in “Left 4 Dead” – 2 with the settings belonging to nightmares images and they actually resemble to the images of the swamps from American South.
You can escape from the zombies that populate the areas through the shacks that are able to take you up out of the waters. But the shacks don’t seem to be that safe since they are easily crushed by the zombie hoards, and as a character in the game you have to try to stay oh higher ground in order to stay alive. The levels are rendered by the Swamp or Parish plays which alters according to the type of the zombies. In Swamp the zombies are mud men with different skills, that force the player to be very cautious while wandering as they could have come out of nowhere and draw your attention in undesirable location, thus distracting you from your purpose. The Parish campaign features zombies in the form of biohazard suit infected and present immunity to the fire and this is a tough situation especially when relying on molotovs in order to feel safer.

Beside these zombies, there is also a Spitter infected which can perform a ranged attack over a group of survivors in the form of an area where once you are caught within its limits you are damaged, well, not entirely but yet you can get really hurt. The Swamp’s finale resembles the original L4D, whereas the Parish campaign shows a new type of climax with a change of pace, when the players meet situations otherwise common to be presented in a different texture, forcing the players to change strategy or to act very carefully. The perception of time while playing this second part is somehow different compared to the one you have while playing the first part of Left 4 Dead.

More than that, the addition of ammo packs and adrenaline meant that the team while playing is delivered new options when they have to face disastrous situations. The fans of the first part may be taken by surprise while encountering these new situations, but be sure that you will be into a lot of excitement and surprise elements that will you going; ah, and one more thing, after you’ll be done, properly (!) speaking, the L4D2 makes you think that there is not a spot to deliver safety to you.

At the price of $10.00 you can buy an online multiplayer shooter having eight special levels, featuring characters from comic books to play as, everything looks appealing and somehow of a decent value on the image displayed on the case for “The Punisher: No Mercy”. But while playing you discover that the first-person shooter is not too specially deep bearing a mark of ordinary in its definition. Next to this aspect we find the thrill only in the first half an hour of playing, for after that to be left in the hands of a repetitive series of shootings longing for a way to take your guns online.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The online multiplayer mode of the game is the appealing thing followed by a total disinterest for those who need some practice in order to gain their skills that enable them to perform the challenges cast by the enemies in a competitive gameplay. The story is leveled on four stages revealing Frank Castle, a character who fights against the clones of his arch nemeses. Your opponents are stripped of tactical skills and health in this way player is left with no chance in being prepared for human-controlled foes. The play is separated in cooperative and competitive modes, but given the fact that your the artificial enemies present too much of a mentally retarded side you are left with the wish to fight against ones who can actually lead a fight.

The game offers various modes to choose from, but they are only mild diversifications of the well-known “deathmatch” formula, displaying also a monotony to predominate in the objectives field. The stages present plenty of dangerous situations watching behind the corners without revealing actually the reasons that determine you to guard your back. Each fight ends very fast, enemies being killed way before they have a chance to fight back, an aspect that is not quite that satisfactory for the proud of a gamer.

Maps are present also in the game, making room for a game for eight players, but it proves that cutting in the number in half is more funnier to play with. You have the abilities to gather health packs, to drop (apparently too often) the unreliable automatic weapons and reach for a rocket launcher, moment that is filled with noisy and big blasting where you need to wait and hope for the best to happen. Leveling up your guns through upgrading make you a better and more powerful shooter, but these upgrades slowly vanish as you die. However you can be rewarded with permanent abilities that are to be earned by playing longer, killing hundreds online, unlocking more powerful weapons. Upgrading as a way to stimulate a play is a good idea though the demands are too high, especially that a player has to spend long hours to see what is it in the game for him at the end of the play. But still you don’t know in the end if it was worth playing a character too superficial to keep you connected to the long displayed plot of the game.

How about a “free to play” game? Sounds great. EA has already made this move releasing “Battlefield Heroes” with some elements left out putting them aside for paying customers. You’ll say it’s not fair, and we have to agree with that, but think again and you’ll find out that is all about business; is all about promoting a product in whatever shape it is for in the end to get some money out of it, otherwise what will be the point of running it as a product?
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
EA is doing this promotion with “Battlefield Heroes”, a cartoon war which has its own attractive design and a theme song that lasts in your mind long after you ended the game. As a battlefield game, the vehicular control seem to have the reins and for this part the game manages great. The vehicles present in the game can be handled very well responding prompt to every move you make. The elements that bring special powers and weapons are still present in the features of the game; gaining playtime and accomplishing missions enables you to be have extra powers and weapons to use in your further steps. The paid elements for the game get you avatar clothing, few upgrades for accessing higher level weapons, but you do not have to get angry; you have to keep in mind that you are actually playing for free.

The game starts right from the beginning with your direct involvement into the action and the moment you are in you have to stick to your position. To access the game you have to visit the site, login and when the big yellow button that says “play now” appears you just press it and there you are, right into the game. The problem is that while being logged in connection or server issues might occur but this is not up to you or to your game skills to prevent. The beauty of the game is that the killing element is present only if you are run over by a land vehicle, and this can not happen as long as you pay attention to the game. Everything you encounter is never hidden in the way that you might not be able to see it coming. The other shooting elements, such as sniper headshots, or grenade or dynamite are able only to take away part of your health.

These are the nice aspects of the game, but along with them can happen tricky things that create you a bit of frustrations, such as being caught in an ambush, or vehicle damages. The game also offers a feature called vehicle map, but no way to select it and play. The moment you press the “play now” button you are cast to a server that half of the time displays an infantry map; perhaps the presence of an option that enables you to list specific maps, for instance, wouldn’t be such a bad idea, after all. But considering that Battlefield Heroes is free to play game you can just sit down, relax and enjoy the trip in the world of cartoon visuals that the game offers.

In search of a new Half-Life 2 and its Source Engine, we may bump into “Smash Ball’s hours of fun to play game. It is a game that combines soccer with field hockey, only that it uses guns and gripping hooks. As a player you are given the possibility of chhosing one of the four characters available: speedy but weak forwarder, a slower halfback, a full back loaded with mines, or a fat man wrecking ball, called goalie. The round begins as a contest between the Team Blue Balls and Team Red Socket that are in a mad crowded rash to get the ball. The goal is the job of ball carrier, meaning that he is the only one to shoot the ball into the opponent’s gate.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The fun comes when you begin throwing weapons and gripping hooks, their type depending on what player you are using and so is the health. Your weight also marks your falls, the bigger you are the harder will be for you to fall. For getting the ball in a much easier way is the tools you can use called modifiers. You will have the skills to cut your knock-out time in half, double your health recovery feature, increase and decrease chances of advancing in the line or fumbling the ball while being hit from another player respectively.

Pressing the shift key (through default controls) you are able, due to gripping hook and turbo features, to explode forward and also jump higher, run faster at he enemy’s goal whenever you control the ball. The grappling hook provides you means to travel further. By clicking the right button of your mouse you can draw a connection line from the aimed surface to the point where you are at. Then a leap forward follows across the map with the only condition that your line isn’t shot at.

Everything is happening at a frenetic pace of action. As a teamwork play sometimes is hard to get a successful effort in scoring the ball, since the fast rhythm gives the feeling of a wayside passing of the ball. Playing as a fullback allows you, more than other characters, to draw a strategy due to the spidermines that are meant to be key defensive installments.

The visuals are quite good thanks to the built off of the Source Engine. There are explosion effects and rockets blasts, characters design is well defined so long as you realize the difference between your team players and the opponent’s. As a conclusion, we may say that Smash Ball delivers a fun game to play that takes you out of the ordinary gaming habits. It is too bad however that you can miss the beauty of defining strategy since the rhythm of the game is too fast paced. But you don’t need to worry too much since there are still a lot of other things to do as you are assigned to different character types and power-ups. Altogether Smash Ball has got an IGN Rating of 7.9, which in the terms of the gaming world is translated as a GOOD rate.
