LA Tale Closed Beta Begins

Tired of World of Warcraft already? Well, that happens, and I can't accuse Blizzard for this, because they managed to deliver one of the most solid MMORPG titles available on the market, but Age of Conan looks even better to me, although it's far from being perfect. Anyway, if you don't want to get involved too much, you can go ahead and try one of those dozens of MMOs still in Beta stage, some of them being in a "eternal Beta," and only a few in "closed Beta," as the one I'll quickly tell you today, LA Tale.

To be honest, I have no idea how popular this game may become in the future, because I signed up for a few MMOs until now, and some of them, even notorious titles, only managed to annoy me, and make me bored to death, and nothing more. I know most MMOs are not my thing, and I'll live with that, don't worry. Now, about those subscriptions to LA Tale, right?<-250x250 Square - right->

What you have to do is apply to the link above, and then wait. The signup process ends on the 21st of July, and between the 22th and the 30th, the 5,000 lucky chosen ones will receive emails about this. At last, on the last day of July, the Closed Beta test stage will open, if everything works well.

According to Don Choi, COO of OGPlanet, "The beta testing period will be the public's first opportunity to get their hands on our newly localized version of La Tale. We're eager to give the North American audience its first taste of this charming MMO, and to start hearing our players' feedback and refining the game accordingly."

This is it for now, but we'll get back to LA Tale as soon as the Open Beta period will start, hopefully.

Age Of Conan Digital Download

Less than 30 minutes ago, I received an email that almost made me jump out of my chair, cheering. No, I didn't manage to win any prize, and Angelina Jolie is not going to drop Brad Pitt for me, either. Anyway, since I mentioned Angelina Jolie(still boiling hot as a mother of two-three-doesn't matter how many, in my opinion), let me tell you this: "which is the most brutal, savage and sexy online game?" Yeah, got that right, I'm talking about Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures!

I don't know if you have seen any of those Age of Conan trailers so far, but that doesn't really matter now - you can easily go to YouTube and search for them, it can't be too hard! Now, back to the game - here's what Funcom has to say about its creation: "'Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures' is a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO) brought to life using next-generation Nvidia graphics technology that thrusts the player into the savage, sexy and brutal domain of the world's greatest fantasy hero. Heralded as one of the most anticipated PC games in development, 'Age of Conan' is the winner of multiple industry awards such as 'Best Online Game' at E3 and the Games Convention, and is also a key title in Microsoft's Games for Windows line-up." Now, just look at the picture above, if you missed all those movies and want to get a better idea about what's happening here...;)

Regarding the savagery and violence...that's something you have to see in full motion, believe me! Anyway, if Age of Conan seems like something new, here you have the main features of the game:
<-250x250 Square - right->
An advanced combat system lets you choose every cut, thrust, and swing in real time.

Groundbreaking graphics and advanced DirectX 10 features plunge you into a world of breathtaking beauty.

A massive fantasy world based on over 75 years of books, movies, art, and music, developed in close collaboration with Conan Inc. to ensure the most realistic Conan experience ever seen.

An unprecedented character development and customization system with combo attacks, skills, special abilities, and deadly spells ensures no two characters are exactly the same.

Massive Player Versus Player combat. Capture battlekeeps and wage epic warfare between players and guilds, or hire yourself out as a mercenary and battle for pay!

New and exotic classes, such as the Demonologist, Herald of Xotli, and Dark Templar, along with incredible twists on classics like the Ranger and Assassin.

A detailed and engrossing crafting system, allowing you to make everything from armor and weapons to an entire city!

Hundreds of unique quests for combat and crafting with extensive NPC interaction and voice acting, immersing you in the living world of King Conan.

An extensive story-driven single player adventure to start the game drawing you deep into the scheming, seduction, intrigue, and betrayal of Hyboria.

While the system requirements may seem a bit out of this world for those with older computers, Age of Conan alone it may be worth a system upgrade, especially with the latest Radeon HD 4870 X2 cards from ATI being just around the corner, with a great price...

What else do I have to say....of yeah, the mail I mentioned at the beginning was about the Age of Conan digital download method available from now to get the game, and if you have a download manager in place, and your credit card loaded, you can give it a try - price of the game is about $50, and the download is as large as 15GB! If you want to play on a European server or an American one, there's nothing stoping you now, not even the fact that your favorite game store doesn't have Age of Conan in stock any longer!

Stargate Online Game

Did you watch at least one of the Stargate movies, if not the whole series AND the feature films? If this sounds like something new to you, welcome to the world! More than anything else, "Stargate" is a science fiction media franchise owned by MGM since 1994, when the movie with the same name was released. In the meantime, Stargate SG-1(1997-2007) and Stargate Atlantis(since 2004) arrived as pretty succesful TV series, accompanied by a few DVD movies, already released or still in the making, like Stargate: The Ark of Truth or Stargate: Continuum. Now, we can also add a computer game to the collection!
Stargate Worlds
Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment is the company in charge with the upcoming MMO, Stargate Worlds. Today, G4 Network's X-Play episode will host the official debut of in-game footage from the game. I watched some of the movies and a part of the TV series, and I must admit the screenshots I've seen so far don't look bad at all, but it seems there's still a long road ahead, until we'll get to the point when Stargate Worlds arrives on our computers.
<-125x125 Button - right->
I don't have any supernatural powers, and I can't tell when is this going to happen, but since the X-Play team got their footage playing a pre-alpha build, you can figure out for yourselves the game is far from being ready. Even more, the team also had a chance to talk about the game with Studio Head Dan Elggren, Creative Director Chris Klug and Art Director Howard Lyon.

Unfortunately, we weren't that lucky, so this is all we got on Stargate Worlds for now, but be sure I'll get back to it as soon as something new pops up!

Mabinogi Pets

If you don't like pets, you must know someone who does, but if you don't like computer games, you surely got here by mistake, but don't go yet! What if...what if you like pets, but you don't like computer games? Well, I am sure we can work something out! For example, you should go ahead and try Mabinogi, a fantasy MMORPG released by South Korean Game Distributing Company Nexon and inspired by Celtic mythology, because a pet system and new magic skills have just been added!

Mabinogi Pets

<-250x250 Square - left->I won't get deeper into the game, because I am sure you can do this by yourselves, so let's see what's new in this fully featured MMORPG that managed to gain huge popularity while avoiding to be just "another MMO."

The pets available are a dog, two cats, a fox, and a wolf, which can be purchased through the Nexon Cash Shop, and will surely enhance your gaming experience. Each pet has its own appearance and skills, and apart from the "firepower" provided, you will also be able to take advantage of their inventory to store more items than before.

Next to the first five pets, there will be an additional five ones added on the 25th of June, as well as a new boss monster, dungeon, and the chance to learn and use a new high level magic spell, the Thunder. At last, once the 25th of June update arrives, it would be an idea to look out for Fleta, a new roving merchant having some unique items for sale.

Oh! One more thing - if you want to play Mabinogi but you're worried about the costs, you should know that this game is free to download and play, but some items require real money to be obtained.

Conan Crushes GTA!

Who could have ever thought we'd see the day when the almighty Grand Theft Auto would be surpassed by a MMORPG? To make things even more interesting, it's about the latest game in the series, GTA IV, the best seller of the series, so far, and the long-awaited MMORPG Age of Conan, which has debuted in the top position of sales charts all over Europe, and where it missed the first place, it still managed to arrive ahead of Rockstar Games' masterpiece!

Age of Conan Keaira

<-180x150 Small Rectangle - left->Before moving on to the charts, I have to confess something. You know what I like best about Age of Conan? Take a look at the picture above, and you'll see. Finally, we have a MMORPG where the female characters are going beyond the beautiful priestess/cute warrior, now we finally have chicks that KILL, in any way you want to take it! Compared to GTA IV, no matter what kind of adult patches are going to appear for that one, Age of Conan's chicks RULE!

Now, off to the charts we go, so let's see how are things looking, according to next-gen.biz)!

Say whaaat? Incredible! A few days ago, I was checking the Age of Conan website, and noticed that the Collector's Edition became sold out already. Fortunately, I found it in a local store the next day. Unfortunately, I had no money (to be read as "I am afraid of losing all the contact with the real life if I start playing," but lack of funds is always a good excuse), so I will remain away from the Hyborian realms for a while...

At last, what about you? Did you get your hands on Age of Conan yet? What do you think? Can we give it the "Game of the Year" crown already, or should we wait until 2008 ends?
