GRID’s Million

If you say Codemasters, I can't help but looking back and remembering those great games that once were all those in the Dizzy series, 750cc Grand Prix, or the TOCA Touring Car series. Obviously, we can't forget the more recent Colin McRae series, or games that don't have anything to do with cars, like the ArchLord MMORPG, or Clive Barker's Jericho. Anyway, today it's about racing, and I got some great news - Codemasters' upcoming title, Race Driver: GRID, promises to take things even further than Colin McRae: DIRT did, and the firt proof is already here...

GRID

...because the number of downloads of the demo versions of this game is already larger than 1,000,000!!

<-250x250 Square - left->On the other hand, you should know that GRID is already Gold, being expected to start shipping on the 30th of the month. The final car list is pretty long, including the Dodge Viper SRT10, Toyota Supra, BMW 320si, Porsche 911 GT3, Lamborghini Murcielago and many others, while the tracks available will be no less than 15, from Donington Park and the Nürburgring GP track, to San Francisco, Washington DC, or Long Beach.

Most people that played the demo already consider this game an impressive one, with amazing graphics that won't require you to upgrade your computer, as long as you have a decent gaming machine for the year 2008.

Now...what else can I say? The demo can be downloaded from every major gaming site, so choose the one which allows you the fastest download, because the demo has almost 900MB in size, and that's it. Godspeed!!!

Burnout Paradise Coming To PCs

I love racing games. Sometimes, if you can't get perfect realism, awesome graphics could do the trick, as long as you don't feel like driving a brick on ice while playing, as it happened - at least for me - with the latest installment in the Need for Speed series. Leaving NFS aside, today we're going to find out about another product from Electronic Arts, Burnout Paradise.

Burnout Paradise

Currently available only for the consoles, it seems Burnout Paradise will be available for PC users too, in the future. The good part is that, according to Electronic Arts and Criterion Games, the game is being rebuilt for PC, and that should mean more than just simply ported from the consoles. Well...

...as long as it comes with new features, sounds like a serious rebuilding process to me! Just hear this - the upcoming PC version is expected to offer "expanded multiplayer, enhanced online features, and community driven content."

For now, this is all, but you can find out more about the game at the Criterion Games site.

Gran Turismo PC?!!

I must confess something - good simulations always made me lose my nights in front of my computer, no matter if it was about history or racing, but I also must admit I was never too much into sport sims or "The Sims" series... Anyway, every time when I hear "Gran Turismo," something happens. Even a few days ago, I was in a store with a friend, and I saw racing on a TV. "Wow, racing! What channel is that?" In fact, it was Gran Turismo 5 Prologue but, until now, there was no chance to play this amazing game on your PC...

Does this mean we will get to play Gran Turismo on PCs anytime soon? Unfortunately not, but even the hope of such an amazing thing on my computer makes me think about those nights I will probably loose racing around...so let's see what do we have, shall we?

In an interview with a German magazine, Gran Turismo's project head, Kazunori Yamauchi, said "It is very very unlikely that GT will come out on another console. But perhaps it may come out on the PC."

The Chinese gaming market is a huge one, but PCs have the largest part of it, and so releasing this awesome game for the PC is a brilliant idea, the only problem being the extremly high piracy rate there. Anyway, as soon as this game arrives on PC, I'll be the first in line to buy it!

73 Days To NASCAR 09

Currently under development by EA Tiburon, NASCAR 09 will arrive in June, but PC users won't have the pleasure to enjoy it, because the 12th installment of the EA Sports NASCAR series will be released for the Xbox 360, PS 2 and PS 3 only... Anyway, the interesting part is that Jeff Gordon, Four-Time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion, will guide you though the game, as previously announced on 12th of March. Well, yesterday, the final press release regarding this part of the game arrived...

NASCAR 09

About its involvment in the game, Gordon said "The game is as real as it gets and it's been great being involved with it on this level. I look forward to helping gamers in NASCAR 09."

How is he going to help you? Well, it seems he will be your guide and mentor, standing by your side as you push through up to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion level, of course!

The game will feature a completely rebuilt handling model, being more easy to play by beginners, but remaining a serios challenge for experienced drivers, at the same time.

Interesting enough? I bet it is, so I hardly wait to see this game in action, but until then, I'll check the official page from time to time for news...so you know where to go.
