Blind Guardian Into The Storm

If you're not into metal at all, then let me tell you that Blind Guardian is a notorious German heavy metal band, often credited as one of the most influential bands in the power metal and speed metal subgenres. Their lyrics usually revolve around the themes found in the writings belonging to Tolkien, King, or Moorcock, as well as traditional legends and epics, so it's no wonder they have been chosen to support Sacred 2: Fallen Angel at Comic Con 2008!

If you're familiar only a little with the RPG world, I am sure you're no stranger to Sacred, so let's concentrate on what's going to happen at Comic Con, shall we?

In a official press release, Cdv Software Entertainment USA announced that Blind Guardian will enter the storm and help Sacred at the Comic Con booth 5129. Unfortunately, we're not talking about a metal show, because only Hansi Kürsch and André Olbrich, lead vocalist and lead guitarist of the band will be there, but having their autographs is just as good, especially if you're a metal fan!<-180x150 Small Rectangle - right->

To be sure you won't miss them, you should reach Comic Con's location in San Diego during Friday or Saturday, from 5 to 6PM. I hear there's also a song written exclusively for Sacre 2: Fallen Angel, so I am sure you won't get bored there.

According to Hansi Kürsch, "The opportunity for Blind Guardian to work on a popular video game is quite exciting alone. To have us be able to contribute to and have our band exist within a game as rich as Sacred 2: Fallen Angel has been very rewarding for us, as gamers and fans of the Sacred series."

Ascaron Entertainment's founder Holger Flöttmann added that "We've been long-time fans of Blind Guardian's music. The opportunity to have one of our favorite bands write a song and include their alter egos in-game has been a wonderful experience. It also signifies how great music and amazing games can fit together to deliver an even more enjoyable experience to gamers."

I am already dreaming about Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, but the problem is that we'll have to wait until September, when the PC version will come out. Unfortunately, console owners will have to wait a little this time, because their versions will only show up in November.

One last thing - if you're eager to grab some Blind Guardian material, you'll be able to find a lot of stuff at the Nuclear Blast area at Comic Con 2008, at Booth 116. Rock on!

Dragon Age News

Let me say only one word: Bioware. If that doesn't ring a bell, it means you got your first computer earlier this week, or maybe you got here by mistake. Anyway, let's see a few more keywords: the Neverwinter Nights series, Mass Effect, the Baldur's Gate series, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, shortly known as "KotOR," or even Dragon Age: Origins. While the others have been released already, Dragon Age is still under development, and I just heard some hot and interesting news about this incoming RPG from Bioware. Want to hear about it?

Dragon Age: Origins is expected to be the "spiritual successor" to Baldur's Gate, with party-based combat, a deep story, and lots of things to customize. According to Bioware's CEO, Ray Muzyka, "Dragon Age: Origins is a dark heroic fantasy that doesn’t pull any punches. Our fans are in for the most emotionally intense gaming experience we’ve ever created, and we hope to surprise them with just how dark and gritty it gets!"

Expected to arrive in early 2009, Dragon Age has a very nice feature list, now confirmed in a press release, as you can see below.<-250x250 Square - right->

- Epic Party-Based CombatDragon Age: Origins will introduce an innovative, scalable combat system, as players face large-scale battles and use their party’s special abilities to destroy hoardes of enemies and massive creatures.

- Powerful MagicRaining down awesome destruction on enemies is even more compelling as players apply “spell combos,” a way of combining together different spells to create emergent unique effects.

- Deep CustomizationPlayers will develop their characters and gain powerful special abilities (spells, talents and skills) and discover ever-increasing weapons of destruction.

- Your Story, Your Way With its emotionally compelling story, players choose with whom they wish to forge alliances or crush under their mighty fist, redefining the world with the choices they make and how they wield their power.

- Origin StoriesPlayers will select and play a unique prelude that provides the lens through which the player sees the world and how the world sees the player. The player’s choice of Origin will determine who they are and where they begin the adventure, as they play through a customized story opening that profoundly impacts the course of every adventure.

Leaving the feature list aside, the cinematics look great, as you can see above. With this, I rest my case, and think harder about making a day last 48 hours, so I can have enough time for Bioware's games that I missed so far, but especially for those that are currently in the makin, like Dragon Age... Any comments?

Two Worlds Epic Edition Uncovered

SouthPeak Games seems to be unstoppable lately, announcing more novelties than I can bear, but this can't be anything else than good news for most of us. Look, for example, let's take Two Worlds: a role-playing game developed by Reality Pump and published by SouthPeak for the Xbox 360 and PC less than a year ago that got mixed reviews in the beginning, but got better and better with each patch. Now, SouthPeak has plans to release the game again, along with two of its expansion packs, using the Two Worlds: Epic Edition name.

According to Melanie Mroz, SoutPeak Games CEO, "Two Worlds has seen unprecedented popularity, not only upon its original release, but in the months since it has gained even more fans." Considering this, squeezing some more money from the fans with a "Gold," "Collector's," or "Epic" edition sounded like a good idea - isn't it so?

Regarding this new edition, Ms. Mroz said "Epic Edition collects everything available for the world of Antaloor into one package so those who have yet to explore its rich and vibrant lands can now do so in its entirety."

What we'll have here is the Tainted Blood and Curse of Souls expansion packs, adding more than 70 online quests, 8 new multiplayer maps, a PvP challenge mode, as well as the explorable town of Tharnburg. If you're a fan, I am sure this sounds good to you, but I think I'll pass this time...

When Is Diablo III Coming Out?

Do you remember Diablo? Come on, did you miss both games, and their addons? Well, the sad truth is that, while the gameplay and story can still be considered fresh by a lot of people, the graphics are outdated, and running Diablo or Diablo 2 on a modern computer can prove to be a greater adventure than the one inside the game... Now, Blizzard has two games in the making that will probably become instant hits as soon as they are released, and while Starcraft II is expected to drop by pretty soon, Diablo 3 has just been officially confirmed to be in the making, along with a lot of goodies, including screenshots, a great cinematic trailer, and gameplay footage, but no answer to the question "When is Diablo III coming out?" just yet.

I am sure you're ready to hear and see all there is new, because we've been waiting for Diablo 3 for almost a decade, so I am sure all those Diablo fans out there are dying to hear more about the story, before anything else, so here you have it!

"Two decades have passed since the demonic denizens, Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal, wandered the world of Sanctuary in a vicious rampage to shackle humanity into unholy slavery. Yet for those who battled the Prime Evils directly, the memory fades slowly and the wounds of the soul still burn.<-125x125 Button - right->

When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells--and even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself."

The feature list looks just as good as the screenshots and the videos, and I hope only one thing - they won't torture us too long with them, and keep delaying the game, as it happens with Starcraft 2. After all, when is Diablo III going to come out? Good question, no answer, so let's get to those features, shall we?

"Explore a fully-realized Sanctuary – the living, breathing gothic fantasy world of Diablo III rendered in gorgeous 3D.

Battle the unholy forces of the Burning Hells with all-new character classes like the otherworldly Witch Doctor, or with re-imagined warriors from Diablo’s past: such as the fierce Barbarian.

Rain Hell on your enemies wielding the interactive environment as a weapon: lay cunning traps, turn destructible objects against your foes, and use environmental obstacles to your advantage - all powered by the Havoc physics system.

Experience the intensity of multiplayer Diablo III over an all-new, wickedly-enhanced Battle.net platform with numerous enhancements to make connecting with your friends easier – and cooperative gameplay more fun."

Need I say more? I am still trying to breath, after seeing the cinematic trailer. Incredible! To find out all about it, simply go to the official Diablo 3 website.

Oh, yeah! The quick answers to what we're all asking ourselves - the system requirements, price and release date are not available yet, so we're going to keep asking ourselves when is Diablo III coming out for a while, but I am sure it's going to worth the wait!

Rise of the Argonauts Images

Ever heard of the Argonauts? Come on guys, a bit of mythology! OK, I'll help! In the Greek mythology, the Argonauts were those heroes that, before the Trojan War, started a trip together with Jason, in the quest of finding the Golden Fleece. The name comes from Argo, the ship they used, ship that was named after its builder, Argus. Arriving in our days, there's a game you should expect! Its name is Rise of the Argonauts, and the first screenshots have started appearing already!

<-234x60 Half Banner - left->Developed by Liquid Entertainment and published by Codemasters, Rise of the Argonauts is one of the most anticipated RPGs of the year.

Based on the legend I mentioned above, the game will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, and will be probably launched in September or even later. Until then...stay close, if the gameplay gets close to the graphics, we're going to have one hell of a ride looking for the Golden Fleece, I can bet on that!
