Metal Gear Solid To Go Mobile

Metal Gear Solid for iPod Touch and iPhone, now that's what I call good news for the year to come! Obviously, the previous sentence says it all, but I think we should get in just a little deeper, since even more interesting titles have been confirmed(more or less) to be headed toward's Apple's handheld gaming platforms...

According to GameSpot, Konami announced that Metal Gear Solid will be another title on the very tasty looking list of games to arrive on iPod Touch and iPhone in early 2009, next to Frogger, <-125x125 Button - right->Silent Hill, or Dance Dance Revolution.

The best part of the story is that I was expecting to see the first or the second game in the Metal Gear Solid series to go mobile, but this is better than one could ever dream - Solid Snake will drop in a completely new adventure that features a wide range of characters and locales introduced in Konami's recent PlayStation 3 blockbuster Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Now, we just need to wait and see how is going to look and feel MGS on Apple's iPod Touch and iPhone, but I think we may have a very pleasant surprise around the corner...

Ready To Buy Cheap Xbox 360?!?

Crisis? CRISIS? Who said that? Just look at the prices of the game consoles! Unfortunately, we won't be eating consoles, but I think nothing can stop you if you really want to buy cheap Xbox 360 consoles, since now they are cheaper than cheap! Even earlier today, I was amazed to find cheap Xbox 360 consoles for sale, and I started writing down, adding various expenses to come, but now the Xbox 360 just got much closer to my wallet's capacity!

OK, let's hear it! Buy cheap Xbox 360! Buy cheap Xbox 360! No, I am not being paid by Microsoft to write this, I am simply amazed by the low price point I spotted for the Xbox 360, now available through the "UK Best-Buy," namely Zavvi. How low? Well, what do you think about ONLY £210 for a premium Xbox 360, Ubisoft's best-selling Assassin's Creed, the JRPG Lost Odyssey, as well as <-125x125 Button - right->the almighty Halo 3?

Just think about this - a premium Xbox 360 can be found on Amazon for about £180 alone, and Assassin's Creed, Lost Odyssey and Halo 3 are - obviously - worth more than just £30, and once you get this bundle, you won't need any other game for at least one month, that's a sure thing!

One last thing - if you had no plans for a trip to UK, now it's the right time - you can go see London, and maybe also take your time to buy this cheap Xbox 360 bundle from Zavvi, why not?

TN Games’ Gaming Helmet

If I hear about such a thing as a "gaming helmet," my first thought is that such a device would be great for protecting you against blows to the head you may suffer when your mother/sister/lover/wife calls you for the 11th time to get to the dinner, but TN Games has another view of the subject - they simply designed a gaming helmet to help you feel blows to the head!

The TN Games gaming helmet is a great addition to their gaming vests, compatible with over 20 games and built using 8 pneumatic impact cells, 4 of them to make you feel frontal hits, and the remaining 4, to kick you in the back... while the HTX gaming helmet from TN Games <-180x150 Small Rectangle - right->is still a few steps away from becoming available, but there's a funny description on the official page of the product:

"The HTX Helmet is the next product in development for TN Games using its 3rd Space™ technology.

The HTX Helmet is worn in conjuction with the 3rd Space™ Gaming Vest and delivers blows to the head when you are fired upon.

Feel bullets whizzing by your helmet or the impact of getting shot in the head.

The helmet will communicates with compatible games to give precise, 3 dimensionally accurate impacts where it happens, as it happens.

Release date 2009
"

Great! Now, I hope the product is much better than the description above, because if it's not, those headshots in the game may even kill you in the real life! Bonus question: how many errors did you find in the excerpt above?

PlayStation Home, Countdown Over!

Last night, a big event took place. This time, it's more than just a game - it's an entire world. No, we won't be able to run and destroy another planet, evading the mess mankind has thrown itself into, but PlayStation 3 owners will be able to enjoy Sony's virtual world simply called "Home."

So, the PlayStation Home countdown is over, but what can you get from this new virtual world? After all, this could be a great idea, or "just another failure," as it happens these days with a lot of interesting projects.

"I am so very happy to announce that PlayStation Home has now officially entered into Open Beta. <-180x150 Small Rectangle - right->Restart your PlayStation 3, and you will see the PlayStation Home icon under the PlayStation Network column of the XMB. Click on the icon, and you are in," Home director Jack Buser wrote on the PlayStation blog, so this is settled - PlayStation Home countdown is over for those who enjoy trying out "Beta" stuff, while for the others, the wait will be only a bit longer.

"For those of you that are new to PlayStation Home, be sure to plug in a USB keyboard (or pair your Bluetooth headset) and start meeting your fellow PS3 owners. And remember, even with all the spaces, rewards, items, and activities available today, what you see now is just the beginning. Home will grow, change, and evolve very quickly – and it is all based on your feedback. This is your community, and we are listening," Buser concluded.

Any impressions? Did you manage to enter "Home" just yet? I am looking forward to find out more from all of those PlayStation freaks out there, so be sure not to disappoint me! ;)

Digital Content Distribution - The Future!?!

I don't know about you, but I would really like to be able to give my family and friends CDs and DVDs as gifts. Unfortunately, things are not headed in the right direction, and this is not the first time we're talking about digital content distribution taking over everything in the future...

According to Atari president Phil Harrison, who spoke to Edge, "There's a generation of kids being born today and probably already alive who I'm pretty confident will never buy a physical media product. They will never buy a DVD, they will never buy a CD, and they will never <-125x125 Button - right->buy a game in a box."

Yeah, isn't that just great? Maybe that generation of kids won't even read a book, know how a chicken looks, and probably they will all be robots! Leaving aside Sci-Fi stories, I think boxed games should never die. Why?

Digital content distribution won't be ever able to replace the feeling of holding the real thing in your hands, and grabbing the game manual for the first time, that's why! I may be old school, but I know I am not the only one.

So, this is the very short story about digital content distribution, but... what do you think? Are you for digital content distribution, or do you still miss old school boxed games, like me?
