Nintendo games enjoy a unique repute and fame among all the video games on the face of the earth.

Old and Classic Nintendo Games

Nintendo games are an all time favorite of those who love video games. Even if, many of these games are now old but their craze is not lessened. People still love them the way when these games were newly introduced. Some of the old Nintendo games that are now among the classic games as well are-

Why Old Nintendo Games are Popular?

The greatest games made so far were made for the NES. Games like the Mario Bros. and Kirby Adventures were model hits for the NES. Truly, the video game industry wouldn’t be enjoying its current position if there was no NES. These games are so likeable and popular because of the following reasons-
1.	Simple Gameplay: Consoles of today have controllers with several different buttons, resulting in complex game play. The complex game play can really turn old at a fast pace having to consider so much whilst playing a game. At times it is nice to have a more basic controller like that of the NES.
2.	More Playing -Less Thinking: Nintendo games need more reactionary game play rather than thinking. While playing these old Nintendo games, you need not think about what to do next. You can spend hours immersed in fun, high-pace levels and putting your reflexes to the ordeal. Many people consider this type of game play to be actually much better than over-thinking everything you have to do.
3.	Replay Value: The best thing about the old Nintendo games is that they never seem old and you are never bored of playing them. Nintendo games have a grand replay value because of their ease and simplicity. Several of them have numerous bonus levels and items in order to make them more fun the next time you play them.

Old Nintendo games are loved in every home since the time they came to light till date. Whether it was the Mario Brothers or it were sports games, there was one or the other Nintendo game that fascinated you. If this account has geared you up to play these games right now, don’t wait, just start playing.

Nintendo DS emulator is a program which you run on your computer. It allows you to run other programs that are meant for a different computer, video game console or a different operating system. Free emulators are there for SNES, MS-DOS, SEGA Genesis old Apple II, N64, Timex ZX81s, Commodore C64 and even for numerous more game devices. The Nintendo DS is the most modern handheld system which Nintendo developed. The year 2004 witnessed its release. It was the first handheld system that featured dual screens. More information about Nintendo DS emulator is harmonized in the following piece of writing. </p

Nintendo DS Emulation

Emulation of the Nintendo DS is unluckily still at an early stage. No emulator yet exists which can play a majority of games as they should be. This means that the current focus of emulator authors is about making their emulators more precise. In turn, it means that optimization has less precedence. Due to this fact, even if you can enjoy playing a game, its speed may be very slow, even on the fastest PCs that are available today.

Best Nintendo DS Emulators

The best Nintendo DS Emulators are mentioned here-
1. NO$GBA

NO$GBA commenced as a Gameboy Advance debugger. Later it was released as a standard emulator (version 1.9). The first gameboy advance emulator to prop up multiplayer games on the same PC is NO$GBA. Later versions provided support for the NintendoDS portable console. It was last released on 23rd January, 2008. It has Windows as its platform.
2. DeSmuME

The first Nintendo DS emulator capable to run some profitable games at a playable level is DeSmuMF. It was last released on 1st February, 2011. Linux, Windows and Mac OS are its platforms.
3. iDeaS

A great Nintendo DS emulator is iDeas. With every release the compatibility rate of this emulator is growing. At the same time, it runs a few commercial games as well. It was last released on 17th February, 2011. Windows and Linux are its platforms.
4. NeonDS

NeonDS is a NintendoDS emulator able to play some commercial games. It was last released on 13th July, 2008. It has Windows as its platform.
5. DSemu

The credit of writing the emulator- DSemu goes to Imran Nazar. This is an emulator which will ultimately emulate a Nintendo DS on several platforms. Since information about the DS on public release is very meager. This is a Gameboy Advance emulator for Windows.
6. Dualis

This is a plug-in-based DS emulator for x86/Win32 computers. It is on paper in x86 assembly and C++. It was last released on 27th May, 2007. Its platform is Windows.
7. Ensata

Ensata is an executive emulator offered to developers in Nintendo DS development kits. The ARM7 and ARM9 dual screen processor are emulated by it. The touch screen is emulated with a cursor and works with a keyboard. Ensata is designed for testing games which are under development, and not for universal gameplay.

The above account has thrown a good deal of information regarding Nintendo DS Emulator. Now, get indulged in the charm of the gameplay.

Nintendo is one of the biggest producers of gaming consoles in the world. It has a lot of history and experience behind, and the first game console was launched back in 1985. It was simply called Nintendo Entertainment System and it was composed out of the console, and 2 or more joysticks for the players to use. The console was connected to a TV, so you would see the game on the TV while playing it.

<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->

Nintendo continued to develop and to bring new innovations to the Entertainment System, and it also made a new type of gaming device, much much smaller, which was the Game Boy. This device had been designed in the size of a joystick and had an integrated display. The company continued to develop, bringing better and better products and more advanced games thus gaining a lot of popularity all over the world.

If you were a child in the 80’s or early 90’s you would definitely recognize the specific gaming console. If you don’t recognize it, here are just some of the titles of games that were available for the Nintendo console: Super Mario Bros., Ninja Turtles, Tetris, Zelda, Bomberman, Dr. Mario, Excite Bike, Duck Tales, Mega Man, The Simpsons, Ghost Busters, Metal Gear, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Back to the Future, Yoshi, Tennis and many many more. Just by reading all of these titles you will definitely remember the good old times when you were a child spending all day playing Nintendo.

It is really difficult to find an original game console from the 90’s because most of them are already broken…but how would you like to play all these cool games from your childhood right from your own computer? Yes…you heard it correctly! This is possible today, thanks to the free online Nintendo games. So you will visit many sites offering free games, that are just the exact version of the ones from your old Nintendo diskettes.

We’ll save you from all the searching and we’ll give you a site. This is : http://www.nintendo8.com/toplist/more/. Here you can find all of the games we mentioned before, and many more others. You can play them directly from your internet browser, so you won’t need to download or install anything. (Well, actually you might need to install the Java software, if you don’t have it already!)

Now let’s choose some of these amazing games, play them and then discuss more about each one. We’ll begin with the game that is probably the most famous of all: the default game for many video consoles not only for the Nintendo. And this is the classic Super Mario Bros.

As you may already know, the joystick of the Nintendo had 8 buttons. Four of them were the arrows to move left, right, up and down, the two from the middle were the Start and Select keys, and the two round ones from the right side were the A and B key. Here on these games, each of those controls are replaced with controls from the keyboard. So the arrow keys from the joystick correspond with the arrow keys from your keyboard, the Start button will be the Enter key, the Select button will be the CTRL key, and the A and B buttons correspond with the X and Z keys from the keyboard.

These controls are the same for each of the games found on this site. So now let’s talk about the Mario game. Mario is a small man, that can be helped by his brother Luigi in his quest to save the princess from the bad dragon. For this he will have to make his way through all of the levels and defeat the enemies found on the way. You can destroy an enemy creature by jumping on it or by shooting it. But to shoot you will have to eat some mushrooms first. The first mushroom you eat will make you grow bigger. And when eating the next one (or when taking the flower), you will be able to shoot.

These items will also help you with your lives. If you are small and you get hit by an enemy, you will die and lose one of the 3 lives you have. But if you are bigger, then you will be first reduced to the original size, and only then you will die. It’s the same when you shoot, so practically you will have one or 2 extra lives. Just make your way across the levels, avoid the enemies and the carnivore plants and also collect coins to have more points. If we remember well, when you will gain 100 coins you will get an extra life. You can jump on the birds, and other creatures to kill them, but be careful because you can’t jump on a carnivore plant.

You must shoot it to kill it, or simply avoid it. You can also go in some of the tunnels, and when being underground you will find bonus rooms, with a lot of coins. You will complete a level when getting to its end, to the castle. Actually each 4 levels are a part of bigger level. A level will be called like this : 1-2, 2-4, 4-2 and so on. On the 4th sub-level of each level, you will be in the castle, and you will have to defeat one dragon. Avoid the flames thrown by the dragon and also the spinning fire bars. When getting to the dragon shoot him or simply jump over him if you get the chance. There are so many more things to be said about the Mario Bros game, but this is all for now, and we’ll move on to another fun game.

There are so many of them, and each one is so nice, so we just don’t know which one to choose. Another game that is really famous, that is still played today by many people and that has so many versions is the Tetris. The rules are simple, try to place the pieces on the screen, in such a way to make horizontal lines. Each line made will disappear and will bring you points. There will be many types of pieces coming, and you can rotate each one as you like. In this online version you must use the left and right arrow keys to move the piece, the down arrow key to rotate it and the X key to make a piece drop faster. You can also pause the game by hitting the Enter key. So good luck!

Another famous game, that has had many upgrades and versions along the years, is Bomber Man. The rules of this game are also simple: you must destroy all the enemies from a level using your bombs, to move on to the next level. Just walk on the map and place bombs to destroy the bricks and get to the monsters. By destroying the brick walls you will also reveal useful items. Just place a bomb, and wait for it to blow. But don’t forget to step away from the bomb, otherwise it can kill you too. And also don’t get in touch with any of the enemies, because this way you also die. The levels will become more and more difficult and there will also be many more types of enemies as you advance. Have fun!

Another nice game that I liked to play as a child is the Excite Bike. This is a motor bike racing game, where you have to make your way to the end of each level, avoid oil ponds and other obstacles, and jump high over the ramps, and also land safely. There are a lot of different tracks, and you can even build your own track. Just press the Z key to accelerate and the arrow keys to steer the bike. Watch out for the temperature of the engine! As you accelerate the bike will go faster, but the temperature will also rise. So be careful at the red bar, and when it gets full, stop the acceleration otherwise your engine will blow. Just press on the X key to accelerate at a slower rate, while the engine cools off. Also avoid the oil ponds because they will slow you down.

‘Enter Sting Entertainment’ after a long period of development has released for DS the newest series installment called “Knights in the Nightmare”. The originality of this game consists in that it combines the RPG genre with a dose of hardcore shooter gameplay in an intricate plot set on a wisp, which is a spirit that wanders in an abandoned church. Castle Aventheim has suffered a defeat and the knights who fought for it are still laying dead on the battlefield. The wisp has the capacity to bring them back to life, in this way replaying the story of what happened and what is he supposed to be. The game unfolds itself in a series of cinematic pieces that move forward up to the present showing gradually what happened till the very day of the epic conflict.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The battlefield is displayed as an isometric grid which discovers enemies all over together with ally troops that are located on different points around the stage. At the beginning the troops are only in the form of a spirit, but as the wisp is hovering around, it can give them back their lives in order to face the enemies’ attacks. Each troop is provided with different ways of attacking, but at the same time they can not move freely around the battlefield. The way the enemies are attacking is also different; they release some colored bullets that do not destroy the wisp but in its turn it has to dodge them, and this takes time (a timer is set to 60 seconds for a turn). You can play a number of turns but if they end and you haven’t done your job, then the game is over. The dexterity of the maneuvers around the colored bullets is very demanding and full of commitment, adding the game a plus of excitement.

Achieving a battle’s victory is displayed in an interesting mode: each defeated enemy fills in a slot on the existing grid called Enemy Matrix, and winning a battle draws a line across the Enemy Matrix, and your interest is to draw the line carefully choosing which enemies to kill. The troop equipment contains lots of items and weapons that enable your troops to perform different attacks and having at the same time lots of skills. Your top skill is that you can always bring back to life the fallen troopers, and this enables you to use them at your own will.

The game provides also an expanded tutorial system that eases you the exploring of the game at your own pace. The game offers a deep approach to its complexities and this is what makes it be so appreciated, that, of course, depending on what kind of gameplayer you are and what do you expect from a game. You can also be very surprised at the sight of user’s interface which is visually unique; the audio is a feature that stands out among the best of the system. Its intricacy will definitely make the game “Knights in the Nightmare” a legend to be referred to.

Although Nintendo experimented in the area of the camera-based motin-sensing technology they had abandonded the project in favour of the accelerometer. Satoru Iwata, Nintendo president, declared that they had found better results in that area, being ready to release the next iteration of that technology – Wii MotionPlus. He expressed his desire to see how the devices of Sony and Microsoft worked out, hoping that they would turn out to be different.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
Nintendo’s president said that the results they got with the accelerometers were better, in this way they would be the next Nintendo’s choice for Wii MotionPlus. Mr. Iwata’s declaration challenges the Nintendo’s rivals as they announced motion-sensing controllers with camera-based technology to catch up with sales performed by Wii. The innovation that made Wii a sensation three years ago has turned into an industry standard., while the companies that had declared that motion-sensing wouldn’t work they were now going in the favour of motion sensors.

The catch of Wii feature is that the built-in accelerometer incorporated into Wii’s controller translates the motion into game commands. An upgrade consists in detecting subtler movements, and it would be a new Nintendo’ release. The Sony’s new controller, that is to be released next spring, is using a camera to detect the movements of a wand.

The president of Sony Computer Ent., Kazuo Hirai, said it was a better way to track motion directed to the screen, the PlayStation 3 doing that without any time delay. With the add of a camera and depth sensor, the new Microsoft’s controller will detect more accurately every motion of the player’s body. The results were demonstrated to the analysts, gamers and game designers, who saw it as highly innovative and one step behind what Wii had done till now.

Opinions on the Nintendo Wii MotionPlus differ; some players say that there is not much precision added to the moves reflected on the screen and the abstraction level, the one that define the distance between player’s actions and what happens on the screen; doen’s seem to offer a great feeling or satisfaction. Others say that they felt completely in control with the moves they made, the mimicking being displayed perfectly. The thumb up opinion comes also from the satisfatcion of the players that see the Nintendo’s software in MotionPlus as the masterpiece of its technology.

But mostly, the precision of the moves, their physics while simple yet completely naturally reproduced, are seen as satisfactory by the gamers, offering them a great experience, iNntendo’s choice for Wii MotionPlus being a definite win, both for the producers and the ardent players.
