The topics of the free online games from the internet are very diversified. You can find both games for boys and girls, for both kids and adults. But most of the games can be played by anyone, no matter the age or gender. Some of the games are really silly and funny, while others are more serious and educative. Some will require just a few simple skills of controlling the mouse or keyboard, but others will require some intelligence and concentration. The most famous games that are made to stimulate your mind are the puzzle games.

There are many types of online puzzle games, and  they not refer just to the classical puzzle game (the real one, where you have to combine pieces to make a full image). Usually the online puzzle games require just a few simple clicks, which will trigger different actions. One type is the slide pictures puzzle game. A sliding puzzle game challenges the player to slide flat pieces along certain paths on a board, and to make a certain final configuration. There are different things that you can slide around, for example blocks with smaller images to make a final full image, or blocks with numbers on them, and you will have to arrange those numbers in a certain order.

But the most famous of them are the slide pictures puzzle games. You can find such a game on the famous miniclip.com site. The game is simply called “Click & Slide”. Here you have to place the pieces in the correct order to rebuild the original image. There are 20 cool images that you can choose from, and they include animal pictures (cat, dog, elephant, monkey etc), flower images and also some cool nature images and landscapes. You can also choose the size of your puzzle, between 3 x 3 to 6 x 6. The 3 x 3 is the simplest, with 3 blocks on each dimension and the 6 x 6 is the most difficult one to complete, with a total of 36 blocks. After choosing the desired image and size, all you have to do is click on the blocks to move them, until you have the image in the correct position. Try to complete the image as fast as possible and with as less moves as possible. In the left side of the image you will see your time, the number of moves that you made and also the percentage that you completed so far from the image.



You can also find some nice slide picture puzzle games on huskerspot.com. There are three games of this type on the site, and they are all featuring some nice images with the Huskers American football team. The first image shows a picture of a player from Huskers while he overtakes other players, the next one shows the Huskers stadium and the third shows the team’s mascot. First you will see the whole image, and after you click the “Start” button, the block will mix with each other. The game has a standard size of 5 x 5. Just click on the blocks to move them around, and try to make the image in the fastest time, with less moves. Your time will be shown in the right side of the screen, while the moves counter is in the left side.



There is even a game that allows you to make a slide puzzle game out of your own pictures! The games that we found is “Picture puzzle 2.1”, and it can be downloaded from this site: http://www.vsisystems.com/picturepuzzle.htm . Just download the first file and extract it to a folder and after that install the game. You will find the game pretty annoying, but the fact that you can make a puzzle game out of your own pictures is pretty cool. When entering the game, you will first be asked if you want do buy it or to play it for free. You can spend 10 dollars on it and get rid of all the troubles, but if you don’t want to spend money on it, just click on “Use it for free” button. A condition to play this game for free, is to change your homepage into the one that they want. So you can’t play the game unless you accept this. Of course after you play you can change your homepage back, but it will change again each time you will play the game. Another annoying thing are the pop-ups that will appear when you enter the game.



So after changing your homepage and closing the pop up windows, you can finally play the game. The image that comes from the game is a simple one, with a smiley face. You can play this one, but it’s more fun to play with an image from your computer. This is also a difficult and annoying task and you will see why. There is a browser, but it doesn’t even allow you to browse through all of your partitions…or at least we weren’t able to do this. So you will have to type the location of the picture manually. After writing it, click on the “Change picture button”. And now that image should appear in the game, and you can finally play it. You will first see the whole image, and you have to press the “Scrable” button so that the blocks will mix with each other. If you run out of moves, you can always press the “Hint” button, and you will see a number on each block, that will help you to solve the puzzle. And if you don’t want to play anymore you can press the “Put it back” button, and the image will be complete again, or you can choose another image from your computer. So after all it is an annoying game, but if you really want to play a puzzle game with any image from your computer, you can choose this one. Or maybe you know some other games that allow you to choose your own picture and then play a slide puzzle game with it…if you do, tell us about them too.

Every child and even adult has heard of Batman. Batman is a fictional character, and it first appeared as comic book superhero. It was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger and it first appeared in 1939 in DC Comics. So the character has a long history behind it, but most of the people don’t know Batman from the comic books, but from the movies. Seeing that people really liked this superhero, the creators made TV series with Batman, cartoons, movies for the cinema and also many video games.

In his secret identity, Batman is actually Bruce Wayne, who is a rich businessman from Gotham City. He uses the Batman suit to save the town from bad guys and to fight crime. Of course he doesn’t fight them just with his fists and legs, he has all sorts of weapons, shields, gadgets  and a cool looking car, called the Batmobile. When they need Batman, the authorities will launch the famous bat signal. This is a searchlight that lights the sky with a symbol of a bat.

Whenever he sees this in the sky, Batman will rush to defend the city from bad guys. Sometimes he can use the help of some sidekicks such as Robin or Batwoman. He also has famous enemies such as The Joker, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Cat woman and others.

But enough with the general information about Batman, now let’s play some Batman computer games. We will choose some games that are absolutely free and available to any person, and these are the free online games. There are sort of flash games, and many of them are inspired by comic books, movies or cartoons. So you will find many games inspired by the Batman series.

Let’s begin with a game called simply “Batman”, which can be found on funny-games.biz. In this game you will have to help Batman rescue Batwoman from the evil Penguin and his henchmen. So you will have to defeat all of them, and advance into the game. Use the arrow keys to move Batman, the CTRL key to punch, the up arrow key plus CTRL to punch and the space bar to use the batrope on gargoyles. The game can be really fun to play, especially if you are a fan of Batman.



If we are on this site, let’s play another Batman game from it, simply called “The Batman game”.  Here the Joker has blown up Gotham City’s Power Plant and plunged the city into darkness. Your objective is to help Batman defuse all of the bombs placed by the Joker, before time runs out and the bomb explodes. Each bomb has it’s own timer and some explode faster and some slower. Use the arrow keys to move Batman around, and the down key to defuse a bomb when you are standing close to it. When defusing a bomb you will gain extra seconds. Watch out for extra lives, because you will need them and be careful at the toxic chimneys, conveyor belts and cranes. The  Joker plants the bombs in the order in which they should be defused, so remember this to score big. The game can be quite difficult to play at the beginning, but after you get used with the controls and game-play it can be fun. Good luck!


Another nice Batman game is the “Batman Rock’em Sock’em”. It is a fighting game, and your goal is to defeat your opponent in the ring. You will have a few characters to choose from such as Batman, Robin, The penguin, The Joker and others. Use the left and right arrow keys to move, the A key to punch with the left hand, the S to punch with the right hand and the D to dodge the punches of opponents. The game is inspired by an older Batman movie, and when you choose your character, the pictures of them are taken right from the movie. But in the game they will look pretty funny, because they have a huge head and a small body. Too bad that this game can’t be played in two players, because it could have been really fun. Enjoy it!



There is even a site that contains only Batman games and this is www.batmangames.info . We mentioned before about the Batmobile, so let’s choose a game that involves this famous vehicle. We’ll take “Batman – the chase” game. Here you will have to follow the Joker through the city, using your Batmobile. You have to bump into his car and stop him. You can also pick up power boosts to do more damage to his car, and to slow him down faster. But be sure to avoid hitting obstacles and watch out for the Joker’s henchman that are looking to stop you. Use just the arrow keys to control the car. Use the radar to see where you are going, and follow the green light to find the Joker. Also collect the Joker cards dropped by The Joker, to gain extra points. Every person, from almost any country has heard of the Halloween. It is an annual holiday and it is celebrated on October 31. The holiday is quite old and it has roots in Christian and Celtic traditions from many years ago. (16-th century). The most famous symbol of Halloween are the carved pumpkin candles.

The Celtics were using carved turnips, but the custom of carved pumpkins appeared in the North America, because they are much larger than turnips so easier to be carved. People were making candles out of pumpkins, and giving them all sort of funny or scary faces, and placed them in front of their homes, or in the window, to scare away the bad spirits. The Halloween is a holiday associated with bad spirits, witches, skeletons etc…practically with all of the horror domain. Beside the custom of making candles out of  pumpkins, another famous activity for the Halloween is to dress as a scary character (a ghost, a monster, witch etc). Children dressed this way are moving from house to house, saying the famous “Trick or treat”. If the person that opens the door likes their costumes, they will give candies to the kids. They will go from one house to another to gain as many candies as possible. But Halloween is not a holiday just for the kids, and it has become an important business. It has become famous all over the world, and people are trying to profit as much as they can from this holiday. Even if their kids are not going for “trick or treat”, the adults can have a lot of fun in this night. There are special parties organized in bars, clubs or at people’s home, where they dress as monsters and have fun together. Another fun activity to do on Halloween’s night is to watch a horror movie. You can choose a regular horror movie, but there are also movies made especially for the Halloween night. There are also many haunted attractions that are making a lot of money on this holiday. But there is also another activity, that you can do both for Halloween or in any other day of the year, and this is to play a free online Halloween game.

You will find so many of them on the internet, and they are absolutely free. They are using the flash technology so it means they are easy to play, with a simple graphic and simple controls. It is not necessary for a game to contain the “Halloween” word, any game involving ghosts, skeletons or other monsters can be a Halloween word.



Now let’s take some random games, play them and discuss more about them. Let’s take for example the one called “Monster invasion”. In this one some wild Viking monsters are attacking London and you will have to stop them. Don’t let any monster get past you, because you will fail the game. It begins with an interesting introduction movie, but you can skip  it if you want. The action of the game takes place at  night, and you will have a few houses and blocks of London in front of you. The monsters will attack from the right side of the screen, and you will have to click on different items on the screen, to trigger actions to kill the monsters. Move fast, and don’t let any monster get to the left side of the screen. Good luck!



Now let’s play the scary game called Graveyard shift. Here you are working in the graveyard and you will have to shoot all the monsters that will appear. You will be moving from the left to the right, very slowly, and there will be all kinds of green and scary monsters appearing in front of you. You will have to shoot them before they get out of your sight. On each shoot there will be green blood coming out of the creatures, and some of them require two or more shots to die. There will be some creatures shooting back at you, and you will have to use the space bar to activate your shield. Just move the mouse button to target the monsters, click the left button to shoot, and move the mouse on the upcoming fire to defend yourself (while pressing the space bar). You will also find items that can give you health, so shoot them to restore your life. Have fun, and shoot all the ugly monsters! :)



Now let’s play a game that is specially made for the Halloween, for example the “Whack O Wheen”. In this game you must help Wendel, the wicked witch, to protect her prized pumpkins from those pesky ghosts. Also collect candies for extra points and potions for like or points. Move Wendel using the arrow keys, and be careful at how many pumpkins (lives) you have left.  Just move the witch around the screen, and when she gets close to a ghost, she will automatically hit her in the head with a broomstick. Be careful that when you get to one side of the screen, Wendel will go throw it and will appear on the other side of the screen, and this can be pretty annoying until you get used to it. But after that the game can be really fun.



If you are a fan of  skeleton games, one of them is the “Numbskull”. It is a puzzle game and you will have to solve the puzzles and get the skull safely back to his body. Just click and drag on the screen to make a box across the level. When you let go of the mouse button, everything inside will turn, and the skeleton head will fall. You will have to get the head on  the rest of the body, to make the skeleton complete, and also happy. You can turn just a few blocks at a time, or more, depending on how you want to move them. The first levels are simpler, but they will become more and more difficult as you advance in the game. The music is pretty nice, and the sound made by the skeleton when you complete a level is really funny, so this is a nice game that you can always play when you are bored and you are looking for some mental stimulation.



There are so many more Halloween games on the internet, but we just don’t have enough time to present them all. So we’ll play just one more , and we are leaving you the task to play as many as you can, and share your opinions with us. Now let’s play the one called “The creepy pong”.  It is a classic ping pong game, the difference is that you will play it against creepy monsters, in a graveyard. First you get to choose your bat. You can choose a classical one with the Miniclip logo, a bat with angel wings on it (representing heaven) and another one with flames on it (representing hell). After choosing the paddle you can play your first game. It seems like the first opponent is a random one, sometimes it can happen to play against a skeleton, other time against a zombie and so on.  In rest the rules and game play are exactly like a classic ping pong game. You only have to move in all the directions to control the paddle, and hit the ball making it go on the opponent’s field. The game lasts until someone reaches 11, and then you can move on the next opponent. As you advance in the game, the opponents will play better and better, making it hard for you to win the game. It is a really fun game, even more fun than a regular ping pong game. In most of the classic table tennis game you will play against a simple paddle, but here you play against all sort of monsters, in  a cool environment. Have fun!
