Cities XL Announced
I don't know about the others, but I have a secret passion related to city building games. Sometimes, they can get pretty boring, but it's more about the feeling you are doing something right, and it's always better to see a city rising high due to your thinking, rather than just selecting some building options, as it happens in most RTS games. Anyway, if I say Monte Cristo...

...you may think about Cities Unlimited, the game that was supposed to continue what City Life started. Well, now it seems the name has changed, and it all became official - Cities XL is the next city building coming from the Paris, France-based computer game developer and publisher Monte Cristo!
Jérôme Gastaldi, COO of Monte Cristo, said "We believe that the level of detail and realism brought to Cities XL answers the needs of city-builder fans. We believe fans of the genre will definitely enjoy Cities XL and many of those fans have provided us with feedback on our development so far. We are really proud to have such a cool and proactive community."
Scheduled to ship in 2009, Cities XL allows gamers to develop cities on realistic 3D maps using an incredible collection of unique structures and monuments based on American, Asian and European-influenced architectural styles, and it may become the most accurate and captivating city building game so far. For more details, feel free to check the official Cities XL website.
