If you would like to play basketball online there are different choices you can make. There are two games which have the license for the National Basketball Association, this being the ones from 2K and the ones from EA, and there is also a basketball game which features the NCAA license, also produced by EA Sports. Just like in the case of the other sports series such as Madden, FIFA, or NHL, MLB, produced by these two companies with the exception of Madden, the NBA games are released each year. This means that if you would like to play online basketball games this year you have to choose between NBA Live 10, NBA 2K10, and NCAA Basketball 10.

Each of these games have different features and in what follows I am going to present you the NBA 2k10 game. I should tell you that this game is the best of the three, as it is able to offer a very realistic experience when it comes to the players and as well with the gameplay. One of the most interesting game modes is My Player Mode. This mode is similar to the My Player mode in the FIFA series or Superstar mode in Madden. In this mode you will have to create a player, pick the position, allow him some points in various domains and off you go. You should know that the path to the NBA is not an easy one, as you first start in the Summer Circuit in which you have to play five games and get as best grades as possible. Every move you make will be analyzed: perform an assist, you will get a plus, allow your man to score, you will get a minus, and so on.

If you have managed to obtain high grades in the Summer Circuit you will be invited to a training camp where once again you have to prove yourself. If you perform well you will make it to the NBA, otherwise you will go to the D-league until you get better grades. You should know that once you are in the NBA you will have to bring your A-game. The dribbling has been improved and the defense animations have been improved as well.

The Create-A-Player mode has been improved as well, as you now have the opportunity of creating his physique in great detail, you can choose the facial hair, shoes, tattoos, and so on. Now you can even choose such things as dunk packages, signature learners, post moves, dribble packages, and floaters. These things do not make a difference in game play but the realism will be improved. In my opinion playing NBA 2K10 is the best way of playing online basketball games.
