Frontlines: Fuel of War Built on Unreal 3 Game Engine

In 2008 we’ll have the pleasure to try a new first person shooter built on the Unreal 3 game engine, with a gameplay based on the frontline central mechanic.

The action is placed in the year 2024, during a global energy crisis, when oil and gas supplies are vanishing together with the diplomatic relationships between the East and West, this leading to the formation of new alliances: Western Coalition of United States and the European Union, and the Red Star Alliance of Russia and the Republic of China.

The war starts and since this moment the objectives are focused together on the battlefield.

In the frontline players can move back and forth across the battlefield, and can earn bonuses or lose equipment or weapon.
Also, they can use tactics like choosing objectives.

An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) will have its role in the gameplay, collecting important information from the battlefield.
An UAV is an aircraft controlled remotely by a programmed flight plan.
The aircraft without pilot will send information on the player’s HUD and map about the enemies located behind walls, unable to be seen with the eye, but visible for the powerful UAV.
It can be also used as a kamikaze weapon.

Besides this UAV, there will be an Assault Drone, Mortar Drone and the RC drone, each with different capabilities for mass destroys; 60 vehicles and weapons, helicopters, tanks and Airstrikes.
The 6 unit classes are: Assault class, the Heavy Assault class, the Sniper class, the Anti-Vehicle class, the Special Ops class, and the Close Combat class; while the 4 roles available are: Ground Support, EMP tech, Drone Tech, and Air Support.
Frontlines: Fuel of War will come out in versions for, PlayStation 3 and PC.
It is developed by Kaos Studios, formerly the Trauma Studios and published by THQ.

Kaos Studios said that for the console version there will be up to 32 players supported in the multiplayer mode, and 64 online players for the PCs.
