Fun Action Games
The name "CAPCOM" is an abbreviation of capsule computer. CAPCOM Co., Ltd. it's a leading international developer and publisher of video games. Its headquarters is in Osaka. One of their great games is Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan), a survival horror shooter, released on the first generation of game consoles, PlayStation. On July 12, 2009 CAPCOM Co., Ltd released Resident Evil 4, version 1.00.00, for the iPhone OS 3.0.
This is a completely different game based off the console version ported from a version developed for mobile phones. Resident Evil 4 for iPhone OS 3.0 wasn't ported form the console version. The iPhone version of the game is not as good as the game from the console versions because: levels are shorter, graphics is mediocre, video scenes were replaced by pictures and plain text. Even if there it has drawbacks, Resident Evil 4 is still one of the best games on the App Store. It's a pretty cool and fun action game.
The story line is different than the one from the game console. Six years after the destruction of Raccoon City, Leon Kennedy, former cop in the Raccoon City Police Department, currently US agent, takes a top secret mission, to rescue the President's daughter. Leon travels to a village in Europe where he encounters zombie-like villagers who pledge their souls to a demonic cult that was involved in the President's daughter kidnapping.

Special features like 3rd person perspective camera for a perfect view of the action, new location based damage, realistic action movements like climbing ladders or jumping out of a window make you keep your attention to the game only. The graphics are arguably good for an iPhone game. There are not a lot of details but the whole atmosphere is good. If you play your iPod / iPhone games with your headphones on then you are going to enjoy both sound and music (forget about listening to your playlist, it won't work). Because they were both released close one to another, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Degeneration share game plays (on screen stick, buttons to use your weapons). It's not very easy to get used to the controls but it's possible. You can change your weapons through a menu.

The game has 12 levels. There will be three at least three important fights against Dr. Salvador, El Gigante and Verdugo. You also get the "boss" levels. The levels are done well; the story runs fluidly (no gaps in the story line). The gore elements from the console game are left out in the iPhone OS 3.0 because of Apple's violence policy. However there is some blood when you kill your enemy. Even if this game is for iPhone OS it still should have been more difficult. The game ends at about 1/3 od the console game so there should be upgrades on the way. This version of Resident Evil 4 does add some of the things left out in Resident Evil Degeneration, but the last one has a better story to tell. Resident Evil 4 (iPhone OS 3.0) is a good action shooter game.
It beats many other action games from the App Store. However this game is not Resident Evil 4, it's a completely different game designed for mobile phones. If you are looking for a fun action game, or a mobile Resident Evil game, this is the best one you'll be able to find on the App Store. It's even more attractive because of the new price of only $ 2.99 (60% off the listing price).
