In a world so stressful and full of worries, a few days that we get to spend somewhere far away from this consuming existence are like a trip to heaven. Camping is the best choice in an attempt of staying close to nature and it also has the major advantage of bringing people close together. Therefore, if you are planning an escape with your family, here are some ideas of funny games to make your experience even better.

Stories on campfire
There is no camping without a campfire. But why not trying to make the best of the situation by leaving aside the old fashioned stories? If there’s someone with a guitar hanging around, playing all sorts of songs, eventually one by one to check all the participants if they know the lyrics of a popular song, might be interesting. In addition, you can combine this moment with an invented story. It will solicit everyone’s imagination and creativity since one person will propose a beginning and the others will have to continue the idea. Remember that the spookier the story will be the more unforgettable will be the evening. Do not forget about the fearful children who might not enjoy this so much…

Shadow games
These will be the joy of the little people. Gather all the children inside a tent, after dark. Two adults will have to stay outside. One will light the tent with a source of light – a flashlight. The other one will make all sorts of shapes or gestures with his hands while the kids will do their best to guess what is all about. Even parents can enjoy it, since is another fantasy competition and an inventiveness test.

Popping crazy
You need balloons, some pieces of paper, a pen, a music player and lots of joyful participants. Someone will have to write down on those papers ideas of crazy actions like “try a step dance”, “jump fifty times in one foot”, “do the chicken cluck” and so far. Every note will be squeezed inside the balloons. Blow them up, gather all the participants to form a circle, start a lively song and let everyone send balloons to each other. When you stop the music, everyone will catch one and sit on it for a specific period of time that you have previously announced. Those who pop the balloons will have to accomplish the tasks inside inscribed. Then you start all over, until there will be nothing left to pop.

Statues in the night
For this game to be really interesting you will need at least five participants. So feel free to invite some camping neighbors. Only one flashlight will be necessary and total darkness. While two persons will play the curator and the visitor’s role, all the others will be statues. The curator will present to the visitor the land with the help of the light source while the statues will move only through the dark. If one statue is spot in move will be out of game. The game will end up when all the statues were caught.

Where are the grapes?
This game can turn very messy, since it involves eating grapes without using your hands. All the players will gather around a large table, with plates in front of everyone, to contain grapes covered with a lot of whipped cream. Only with the help of their mouth, the contestants will need to uncover the grapes and then eat them all, in a race against time. Make sure you have enough tissues for the end of the contest…
