Fun Downloadable Games

2K Games is a developer and a marketer of interactive software games. It was founded on January 25, 2005. 2K Games is headquartered in Manhattan. 2K Games is a subsidiary of Take – Two Interactive ( best known for the Grand Theft Auto series ). The games released by 2K Games are available for a wide variety of console, and they offer also a lot of fun downloadable games.

In August 2009, 2K Games released Civilization Revolution for iPod Touch or iPhone owners. Anyone who played a Civilization game before (Civilization IV, 2005, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Civilization IV: Warlords, 2006, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword, 2007, Microsoft Windows, Civilization IV: Colonization, 2008, Microsoft Windows, Civilization Revolution, 2008, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) knows that this is going to be a great purchase for your iPod or iPhone.

Build. Discover. Conquer. Rule the World!

The game plan is like any other Civilization game. You lead your civilization through all the ages. If you wanted to be a leader in real life but you never quite succeeded then you really have to play this game. You will wage wars, conduct diplomacy, discover all sort of new technology, choose your nation path and build your own empire. You choose how your empire will look. You can choose from four paths: military, cultural, scientific or economic, either way you can win (the easiest way to win is the scientific path). Don’t forget, there are 16 civilizations and four paths that mean at least 64 victories without repeating any game. You can choose to triple tour strength by combining up to three units into one powerful army and destroy your enemies. Then again you can have a peaceful alliance with all of the other civilizations if you choose so. You also have multiple difficulty levels and an integrated tutorial. So conquer the world whenever you want, wherever you want (from your not so leader position in your real life). Save whenever you want and don’t worry about getting a phone call while you play (the game has auto save feature).

It is a great rendition of Civilization Revolution ported over from the DS to the iPod or iPhone. The game runs relatively smooth on the iPod Touch 2nd generation, but the graphics and animations are not really too great. The game offers two game modules, Random map and Scenario. If you like the unknown than you should choose the Random map modulo. Scenario offers 10 different situations with different parameters. Civilization Revolution will not allow you to create your own map. There are five levels of difficulty: Chieftain, Warlord, King, Emperor and Diety. From here you will select a leader from 16 different history civilizations. The game is about managing your civilization. You will have to take many decisions. Civilization is about strategy. You should try to win the game using all the paths. During the game you will have conversations with your optional trade adviser or other leaders (it’s a good feature that survived the PC to iPod modifications). You can grow faster if you accept different alliances, but you can also be double – crossed. You will easily learn to play the game on the touch screen. Any complains you should know about? Well sometimes the game crashes, but then again, many iPod or iPhone games do.

Civilization Revolution is a very good downloadable game and arguably one of the best strategy games for iPods or iPhones. It may be lacking the deep micromanagement like the PC version, but overall is a good purchase for your entertainment.
