Funcom Loses
To be honest, I was extremely close to grabbing Age of Conan off the shelf more than just once, but something kept me from doing that. Oh, yeah, I was thinking about how many beers was it worth, and - most of all - I am not really into MMOS. Now, WoW proves I am one of the few not into this kind of games, but Blizzard's product also shows there can be only one...

...and that one won't be Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, unfortunately. Why? Well, fourth quarter's financial results revealed a very ugly truth, with an operating loss of no less than $23.3 million, and now the CFO is jumping off the Funcom boat.
Olav Sandnes, now the former Funcom Chief Financial Officer, said "Funcom is a company with a substantial potential based on a unique combination of skill sets in a fast growing global market. I wish Trond Aas and the rest of the organization all the best in realizing the full potential of the company."
Now, he may be right about the potential part, but "fast growing global market" may not be that accurate. Anyway, now we're talking about around 100,000 subscribers, and the chance to see Age of Conan being launched in Poland and Russia.
I don't know what to say, it would really be a pity to see Age of Conan going down, especially now, when it should be taking off, considering all the efforts that pushed it so far...
