Do not, buy, from Best Buy. I used to work for a company that delt directly with Best Buy, and I handled a lot of "information." You can find whatever you're going to buy at Best Buy, at wal mart, for a better price. Even if the price isnt better, fucking buy it at wal mart. GOD HELP YOU if you buy an Insignia, or Dynex. These are Best Buy store brands. Hope you like spending money for electronics that WILL break within the first year of owning them. And no there is no factory warranty. Yeah you can buy one..but you're literally giving them hundreds of dollars for NO reason. The warranty's they sell for computers, digital cameras, cell phones, appliances, absolutely EVERYTHING that they sell in store, are complete, crap. They have seriously INSTRUCTED geek squad members to try and convince you to only buy a one year warranty. Do you know why? Because the piece of technology you just bought, whether it's a computer or digital camera, already COMES with a FREE one year Manufacturer warranty. And i promise you. When you call in with your PSP (product service plan) number, to get your new battery, under the warranty you BOUGHT for two hundred dollars, because the battery you got was faulty? That goes right out the window. It's replaced under your factory warranty. The warranty you bought, for one year, is overturned by the factory warranty. So..why buy a one year warranty, when it already comes with one? But, in an effort to throw off the scent, Best Buy offers warranty's longer than one year. These warranty's, literally cover nothing.

They cover absolutely nothing. There is no accidental-damage plan, there is no replace-your-parts plan, nothing. They cover absolutely, positively, nothing. They tell you it's covered, but when you call in, your service representative, sitting on their butt playing games on armor.com, will kindly tell you to fuck off.

Dont ever buy any type of warranty from best buy. EVER.

Sorry. I havent worked for that company in years, and still to this day when i read something about them, or someone mentions them, it sparks this firey hatred inside of me that i cant contain.

All of this amuses me greatly. This seems to have become the par for course, the ESRB and so many other organizations becoming the 'hand holders' for children because parents don't want to do their job. However, the MOST ironic part of this, is the fact that the majority of these 'kid friendly interest groups' that want the government and other organizations to do all the work of monitoring what their kids watch/play/etc., are the same assholes that keep whining about too much government. SRSLY? WTF? Behold the power of hypocrites. I greatly miss the days where kids were allowed to be kids, and to do the things that they are going to be naturally curious about. Playing violent video games, watching R rated films, listening to aggressive music, and generally being their typical rebellious selves. And then they grow out of it (for the most part :P) I grew up in the 80's and 90's and no one would bat an eye if I decided to take myself out to an R-rated movie even when I was still a pre-teen. Nor if I decided to go binge on Mortal Kombat. And, lo and behold, despite this level of freedom that I was allotted, I grew up quite fine, contrary to what these activists would have you believe happens to kids. The behaviors that we instill in our children keeping everything at arms length is what's causing harm. Nowadays everyone treats children like they're some precious commodity that is far to delicate to see/taste/feel/interact with the real world. And, thus, they learn, and quite quickly, that the only ways that they will be able to acquire the things they want is to approach them in an underhanded manner. This endless coddling has got to fucking stop. The government, and all these special interest groups need to go get bent, and parents need to assume the responsibility that comes with being a parent. Teach your kids how to make the right choices, without overburdening them and chances are good, they'll turn out just fine. And, gasp, you won't have to deal with such absurd bullshit the next time you go through line. Anyways, that's enough banter out of me for 6 a.m...... You want change folks, be proactive, and let's start getting rid of some of these silly regulations before we're stuck so far under the thumb that we can no longer breathe for ourselves.

The people at that best buy were at the wrong. It is legal for someone of age to buy a game that is M rated for someone younger. At least i work at walmart and this was acceptable.

If it's the US, there isn't even a law stating that retailers have to enforce the recommended ages. It's simply supposed to be voluntary enforcement. I can see this with alcohol but not with video games. The thing is that people who bring a younger person with them are probably not buying it for someone else.
