just installed l4d2, updated with steam. loaded it, monitor goes blue and i can hear everything fine. I have l4d1 playing just fine. same system requirements on sequel game, except pixel shader 2b required on video card. thought it was video card driver, so I updated that. still no luck, blue screen. opened l4d1 again, plays fine. don't know if my video card supports pixel shader 2.0b.

my sys specs:
512mb nvidia geforce 210 video card.
HP a6120n. intel duo core 2 (2ghzx2) , 2gb ram. Vista 32-bit.

I keep getting these notifications on my email and I'm getting so frustrated at how no one is paying attention to the minimum system requirements for this game!
To Adrian:
You need at least 2gb of RAM; your cpu processor should be over 3.0GHz for the Pentium 4; your vid card is out-dated.
As for your harddrive it doesn't really matter if your system itself is outdated.

To everyone else asking why their systems aren't working, please take time to look at l4d's website and click on "min. requirements."

Please Help!

Ace,

Alfred is right, you need the right patch for your game. there are many patches out there but there's only one set of patch that worked for me. Let me know if you found it. I'll try to see if i can get you a link.

Good luck Ace..
