More BioShocks for Big Daddy
BioShock just hit the shelves and already some believe they have a real goldmine on their hands and a classic of the gaming scene to boot. After hitting the mother load with the Grand Theft Auto series, Take-Two has yet another title that surpasses every expectation. Sales numbers are yet unknown but Take-Two Interactive Chairman Strauss Zelnick related that over 1.5 million copies have already been sent to stores worldwide. In fact, he feels so good about it that Bioshock is planed to develop into a franchise and thrill us some more in the coming years. The game is quickly reaching cult status due to his catchy atmosphere, great original plot, stunning soundtrack and audio effects.

There are plans to get a development cycle going, not unlike Grand Theft Auto. "I would say probably roughly an every three year schedule would be optimal. ... I expect we would apply roughly the same strategy to Bioshock, because Bioshock is shaping up to be a very important franchise. I don't was to say more than that about Bioshock because I certainly don't want to jinx it, but I feel awfully good about where that is going", Zelnick explained. So be ready to see more merchandise coming your way, in an effort to promote Bioshock on a more varied market.

BioShock takes place during 60ies in Rapture, an underwater city built on the mid-Atlantic seabed and constructed in the late ‘46 by industrialist Andrew Ryan. Its Orwellian reality is inescapable and complements very well the gameplay and combat system, in a dark fight for survival. Once the Rapture scientists discovered ADAM, a mutagenic factor that gives humans super powers and the ability to genetically alter themselves, nothing has ever been the same. You are an intruder in this grey world, one of the few that can actually save this world or doom it. With help from the inside, one thing is certain; you will become the God of ADAM.
