Need for Speed: Undercover PC

My heart is broken, but I have to do this. The world needs to know the truth about Need for Speed: Undercover, and that's what I am going to give you - the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, but first of all, let's take a look into my Need for Speed-related past, shall we?

When I saw the original Need for Speed, around 1995-1996, if I recall it well, I was simply stunned. It was love at first sight, and despite the fact Need for Speed II got away from the impressive realism of the first game in the series, I spent countless hours playing split screen matches with a friend of mine.

Although Need for Speed III and IV, subtitled Hot Pursuit and High Stakes, came with various new things, the big step - and the apex reached by the Need for Speed franchise was Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, released almost a decade ago, in 2000. Since this is not today's topic, I will only say this: I loved it from first second, I love it, and I will always love that game!

Next, came along the beginning of the end - Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, saved by the presence of a BMW in the car list(I loved that car). After that, the tuning madness started with Need for Speed: Underground, and old fans started to wait. The wait for a real Need for Speed game, and we're still waiting now, in 2008, after 12 games in the series, including Need for Speed: Undercover...

..but let's leave the past where it belongs now, and move on to what you've been waiting for, the one and only PlayerzBlog...

Need for Speed: Undercover PC Review

Just look at this - Need for Speed: Undercover is available for an amazing range of platforms, probably more than the cars available in the first Need for Speed game: PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Wii, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation Portable, iPod Touch, iPhone, N-Gage 2.0! Anyway, that doesn't necessarily make it better, it only gives it better chances to be purchased and played by more people, and that's all. These being said, let's check the plot, graphics, gameplay, and the amazing things I discovered in the time I spent with this game...

Need for Speed: Undercover - The Plot

Some people enjoyed ProStreet simply because that game didn't have any silly plot, but this time things have changed - you're UNDERCOVER! Yeah, right, just think about this - you're a cop, and you have to infiltrate the street racing gangs in Tri-City, but once you're inside the first gang...you have to "take out" your team mates, because "you don't have to raise suspicions." I don't know exactly where did they see this, but I missed that movie where the cop infiltrates a gang and starts killing all members, just to avoid being uncovered!

Anyway, if you think the above sucks, think once again - did you see "The Transporter?" Watch it if you have the chance, it's a great action movie, and I am sure those into Need for Speed: Undercover also saw it, since you will end up facing some missions from a mysterious customer, asking you to deliver some packages here and there.

OK, "The Transporter" is one thing, but what about "Gone in Sixty Seconds?" Yeah, I know, the blonde Angelina Jolie is totally smokin' in there, but think about the plot of that movie, and the part of the game here where you have to steal "six cars within 48 hours." Expensive exotics, of course. Nothing in common, right? Suuuuure...

The people involved in those useless movie scenes intended to keep you connected to the "story" include international movie star Maggie Q, as detective Chase Linh, your hot high heels contact, American television actor David Rees Snell(the big, bad wolf) and Christina Milian, as Carmen Mendez, a hot chick that you get to race a few times and even save her from the bad guys.

All in all, the plot and those cutscenes are nothing more but money and time diverted from things that really matter, like graphics and gameplay, as we're going to see right away...

Need for Speed: Undercover - The Graphics

"Look, mom, I discovered a new Pixel Shader function, it's called Blurrrrr!," said the little programmer, and its poor drawings, once animated, started to look better... that's exactly what happens in Need for Speed: Undercover.

The environment lacks detail, colors lack any trace of life, and cars are EXTREMELY UGLY, as you can see in the screenshots around here - those in ProStreet were done much better, and I am not the only one to say this. After enabling 6X AA, the cars still have jagged edges, which is absolutely incredible!

Since I ran the game using an older Radeon X1950 Pro video card, I could say that performance was decent, although I was amazed to find that, after enabling antialiasing and anisotropic filtering, my framerate increased. Well, that's not the only unbelievable part of Need for Speed: Undercover, but we'll talk about unbelievable stuff in the game a bit later...

For now, just let me conclude that the graphics are outdated and ugly. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 looked better, honestly! I think "disaster" is best word to describe Undercover's graphics, but wait and see what's next...

Need for Speed: Undercover - The Gameplay

In Undercover, you start off with a highway chase, and once you evade the cops, a boring introductory cutscene tries to tell you more about what's going to happen. In fact, it tells nothing, because you'll basically play around a lot of races in the different game modes available, and sometimes receive "special missions," most of them without any introductory cutscene.

When talking about game modes, it's not my pleasure to tell you that the Drift and Drag races are gone, leaving us only with Circuit, Sprint, Highway Battle(similar to "Canyon Duel" from Need for Speed: Carbon, only that this time you're on a highway with heavy traffic), Cost to State and Evade, two modes where you should do some damage and evade cops, or simply evade.

Last part worth being mentioned when talking about gameplay is that your driver gains levels, these levels giving you various (random) skill bonuses, and unlocking new cars and parts. Basically, you get to play a lot of repetitive races, and it all gets boring pretty quick, if you're not into wasting time tuning your car and posting photos online... but let's get to the really amazing parts of the game - you'll love them, but fiiirst...

...here's what PC gamers who will dare to buy and play Need for Speed: Undercover are losing: Criminal Scramble (Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable only) and Chase Down (PlayStation Portable only) are two game modes not available
for PC users, allowing you to play as the cop, chase and bust criminals.

Need for Speed: Undercover - The Incredible Stories

I could have named this section "bugs," "lamest parts of a silly game," or something similar, but let's leave it this way. If I could rename this game, I would call it Need for Speed: Unreal, and here's why...

First story - I just stole a Bugatti Veyron - the fastest production car on Earth, as we know it. The cops are somewhere behind me, and I am cruising on the highway at 361km/h. Officially, this car could go faster, but in the game, it stops here. So far, so good, but hear this - suddenly, two police SUVs overtake me with over 400km/h, and since they were a few hundred meters behind only second ago...probably some F-16 plane was pushing them, I have no idea!

Second incredible story, although it happened more than once. I am cruisin', and suddenly I see a car being lifted a few meters in the air, and thrown away. Once, it happened with a bus! Poltergeist?!?

Needless to say, damage is as "realistic" as usual - after losing my wing, the car still remains in control at over 300 km/h, and once you see your Porsche taking 90 degrees turns at 250 km/h, there's only one thing remaining for you to do, but I'll keep that on hold for now.

One more, then I'll go... what about being busted? I know, it's not a pleasant situation, but take a closer look at the whole scene. Did you get it? OK, let me tell you about it...

I am being chased by the cops. It all happens on the highway. I manage to go through a few Pursuit Breakers and take down some of them, but they finally get me. On the highway, in the sun. Then, I get a CGI cutscene, with troopers jumping on me...in a parking lot! And when you think this happens in the 12th installment of a notorious racing game, all you want to do is draw...

Need for Speed: Undercover - The Conclusion

I guess someone will be glad to receive my copy of the game as a gift. Unfortunately, my hamster can't use a computer. Hmmm...and I think he would also find his wheel more interesting than EA's disaster... ehem, "game."

If I had to award some scores, here's what I would gladly award to Need for Speed: Undercover these -

Story: 0/10
Graphics: 2/10
Sound: 4/10
Gameplay: 2/10
Originality: 0/10
Tilt Factor: 5/10
Overall: 2/10

The soundtrack, pretty good, as usual, the wide range of cars and parts, as well as those BMWs I really enjoyed seeing included can't save Need for Speed: Undercover from being nothing more than an abysmal title. I am sure that its name will help it sell too many copies once again, when compared to the fun provided for your money, but let's hope this will happen for the last time.

Not even Jesus can save Need for Speed: Undercover, and the only thing remaining to be done I mentioned a bit earlier is this - go to Control Panel, enter Add/Remove Programs, and uninstall it. Take the DVD carefully, order some gift packaging, and send it to your worst enemy... but don't forget to drop a comment below and share with the rest of us your opinion about this so-called "game."

well that is a bummer

my favourite is still nfsu2

Posted by Aaron 11/28/2008 3:38 am

EA had better get their act together and give us a good game.. the only reason i even played this was because it was available on thepiratebay

Posted by Neel 11/28/2008 9:23 am

First thing I want to say is....
YOU SUCK!!!!
you liked prostreet bcoz there was no silly story....do u know why you were playing the game??
you say that you hav to race same races again and again and it gets boring......and u love nfs's earlier version..well i didnt know that those games were capable of making new type of races everytime you play them....or probably there were thousands of types of racings.....
and you seriously think graphics of hot pursuit 2 were better than this game....Seriously get your eyes checked...
The only sensible thing in this blog is how the suvs overtake a buggati......
you knoe what consider me your worst enemy and send me the dvd....

Posted by Nistor Codrut 11/28/2008 10:28 am

Well, here you have my answers...

1. Yeah, I know, some of my friends say that I suck, too, and even my wife, so you're not the first one to say it. I usually have no answer to that - it's your opinion, and as long as that opinion doesn't leave any scars & bruises, I accept it.

2. I said ProStreet has much better graphics, I didn't say I really liked it - but it was less annoying than Undercover, for sure! Why race? Just for the sake of it! That's why racing games exist, to allow you have fun driving some cars; if you want a story, play some RPG/adventure game, or go see a movie!

3. I love NFS Porsche. The "Test Driver" mode in that one was the most challenging racing mode ever added in a game of the NFSU franchise, and you had to constantly upgrade your car to beat the competition, not go way in front of a Pagani Zonda driving a Nissan 240SX!

4. Hot Pursuit 2 was much better for its day, and had less flaws than this one.

Leaving the SUVs taking on the Bugatti, what about those flying cars? Oh, and you can call "story" something that really makes sense! ;)

Unfortunately for you, you're still far from being my worst enemy...

Undercover sux.

whats up with this crap their givin us?

Posted by david 11/29/2008 1:45 am

"go to Control Panel, enter Add/Remove Programs, and uninstall it."

probably the best piece of advice I have read about this pseudo-game.

The total "install-try-delete" process took me less than 1 hour.

I just HATE the fact they called this game NFS. Pro Street was a pretty bad copy of Race Driver: GRID but at least it had the graphics.
This one is.... just a waste of time.

you fuck''

u said that i love the older versions. then why u hated this one.

Posted by Rileysnotz 11/30/2008 9:54 am

hey Krishna,

I'm not quite sure what you meant but it did seem like you're upset about something. I gather that you're unhappy with the review. Well like you said (I think you said) everyone has a right to his/her opinion. I still think NFS undercover sucked. But hey that's my opinion. And mebbe all YOU are looking for is driving a car around in a totally crappy game with no gameplay value whatsoever but I think the rest of us are looking for more game for our green and not the other way round. Peace :)

PS : And there is no need to get abusive bro!

Posted by SoLo 11/30/2008 9:01 pm

You seem a bit agitated or something. Take the stick out of your ass and get some glasses, then create a respectable review rather than rant about what is not good.

NFS: Porsche Unleashed WAS a great game but to modern standard the graphics suck big time. ProStreet was a good concept but overdone on the graphics and underdone on challenge.

I totally agree with the police catching up. The problem is people tend to forget the basis of NFS, user playability. I like the game, not love it though. Disappointed in the lacking of challenge mostly, I dominated the first 10 or 15 races the first time playing which should not happen. Myabe I am just THAT GOOD or the AI code is THAT BAD. I also dislike the dirty tricks when racing, cars will block you or PIT you at 200MPH.

I am just not sure what you expect from a driving game. I expect to be able to drive. The physics model in Undercover is pretty good. Some of the action is unrealistic, but it needs to be for playability purposes. One thing I WOULD LOVE for EA to do is have an open world, no dumb-ass static-route driving. I would love to see my car go over the barrier and tumble into oblivion after bailing off a ramp at 200 MPH. I would also like to see the aftermath of rear-ending a bus during the Highway Battle where the screen turns grey (this disappointed me greatly to not see my car get totaled).

Overall this is what I think should change, with graphic and computing capabilities this should be simple:

Open world driving (off-road, over barriers - NO LIMITATION like Grand theft auto basically)

Real-world mode: Accidents hurt and your car is not unrealistically sturdy. No spoiler should be less traction, missing front facia should have consequences. Maybe some dynamics of NOS failure or engine troubles and such; something real.

Overall I think EA needs some new programmers and original thinkers. The performance is shitty in Undercover for what little is ACTUALLY going on in the game when compared to games like GTA-IV and RACE-07. Race 07 is a good model for realistic multi-opponent driving action, very difficult and requires actual skills to win.

EA has disappointed numerous times from gameplay to support in the past year or more. They need better programmers, artists, fresh ideas and less hollywood.

My rating for Undercover: 4/10 Overall. Good effort, failed result.

carbon was better

Posted by Codrut Nistor 12/04/2008 7:21 pm

Wow, we have quite a few comments unanswered here, so let's take them step by step(I will skip those saying the same thing as I said in the review, I am sure you will understand... thank you for your comments anyway, guys)

@krishna: try to learn some English, then write a comment that makes sense. Maybe NFS, as it looks now, is a great game for a 10-year old, but not for serious gamers. Btw - how old are you?

@SoLo: if you were talking to me about being agitated, I was not. In fact, the only part of your comment I don't agree with is the one about the physics model, since all cars come to a sudden stop if you drive ~30mph or slower, and that's way off the real thing. Of course, there's more, but I won't review the game again... Left 4 Dead is waiting! :)

Posted by @lien 12/05/2008 4:02 pm

Wow...
So many comments but not a word on the infamous Crash-To-Desktop?!
Or was it just me that's having this sh*tty issue?

Overall, it s*cks if you are going to/already paid money for this... in my opinion.

Everything except for the "story" of this title, is basically bits and pieces "collected" from the last few NFS series.

Some great cars in it, but too bad I'm getting the stupid CTD every now and then while customizing any of my ride.

Quite agree with author's opinion, except for the rating;
I think the Graphics shoulda better than 2/10, like 5/10...

Posted by krishna 12/05/2008 4:24 pm

ya i'm looser girl. u say correct. In last week i told to u my opinions, but right now i think my opinions r loose sory guys al of u

ya i completed the nfs undercover

it's too be same old story like nfs pro street same graphics, same story, same challeng, etc

in last week i buy new 1gb graphic card for nfs undercover only, but right now that one is to be waste

i hope nfs they need better programers, designers, and good idea's wanted

once again i'm sory guys who hurt my last mesge

Posted by Codrut Nistor 12/05/2008 4:27 pm

It seems crashes are random, and most people who dropped comments here were lucky...
krishna - I played it well on a 256MB card, so unless you have a 27" monitor, you wasted the money anyway. Well, there are plenty of titles worth playing around anyway, so you should forget about NFSU and move on!

Posted by krishna 12/05/2008 4:34 pm

at last one thing. i told to u

al of u who r the great fan of nfs

nfs is going to be best in next series. when compared to other games

i think i'm saying correct its going to be rock in next series

watch al of u

Posted by krishna 12/05/2008 4:40 pm

ya u say correct

but 1gb graphic card maybe help to next series u known

just think it

Posted by Rileysnotz 12/05/2008 11:25 pm

Interesting about the CTD. I faced seemingly random crashes. Sheesh and I thought it was my system. :(

All The Need For Speed Titles Were Good. Some Were Better Then Others. The Modern Day Era Games, Underground 2, MW, Carbon, PS, and today's Undercover are good games, Some People need to relize you can make a game better, and then someone can also suck as well. I admit, undercover is good, but i have to say i kinda like Midnight Club Los Angelas better, but thats me. You all get mad, at each other and argue over a game, dang its like your fighting over what brand of car is better. Maybe, the Next NFS series will be true open world and better graphics and cop chase. And about GTA i like San Andreas the better, the new GTA IV is as good. Games improve, so are made worst, its life.

any one know registration codes for Need for speed undercover,.

by nick

Posted by Bakayoko 12/15/2008 1:29 am

I totally agreed what u say there... I was looking forward to play undercover for so long... I bought it on ps3 the first date it released... but I was disappointed...

I like prostreet graphic better, at least not blurry... I am just a video game player, not an artist, so give me a break there. I like prostreet with my G25 racing wheel better too, it makes me feel connected to the road. For undercover... it doesn't even worth to describe how bad it is...

I know two games develop by two different teams... I am waiting for the prostreet team to come up something big next...

Posted by kunal 12/16/2008 6:27 pm

Buy the game, and you will get a registration code. PlayerzBlog does not support warez!

Posted by kunal 12/16/2008 7:07 pm

but its not lunched here in india thats why plz if u hav give me no i hav downloaded the game from net plzzzzzzzz

Posted by Codrut Nistor 12/16/2008 10:56 pm

If it's not l(a)unched yet, I am sure you can place a preorder on a local game store, or get it off eBay for a good price. If you simply "downloaded" it from some obscure website, then let me tell you that's theft, and although you will get away with it, it may kill the chance to see a new game in the series... if you understand what I mean.

Posted by wes.c 12/21/2008 10:28 am

i need the damn code people

Thanks

Guys i juss wanna know which is the best car in undercover, pls don tell me Bugatti, a good car in the sense good wid handling good wid acceleration and good speed i mean a choice of pro gamers.. i don think tht pro gamers are gonna prefer a Bugatti so if any pro gamer here pls help me..

Posted by Nistor Codrut 12/28/2008 9:14 pm

Pro gamers will stop playing Undercover after 2 minutes. The Lamborghinis or the Porsches have good acceleration and unreal turn rates, so if you enjoy going in and out of a 180 tight turn with over 150mph, grab them. :)

Posted by Spork 01/01/2009 7:49 am

All in all, I loved this game. I have been playing it for the past 10 hours and can't get enough of it. The graphics are acctually really good.. not like you were saying at all, then again I am running 2 x 3780 with a Qcore running at 3Ghz and 8GB of ram... 16x AA, no lagg no glitching.

I have to say that I do not play games all for the realism of things, the fact that I can plow into things and not explode makes me laugh, not at the game but at the fun I am having.

People slate games far too easily and if you system can't handle the game play on full settings, get a new one before becoming a guru of games.. because it does not work.

This game is good if you just want to speed around and not have a care in the world, this game is for true gamers who can see the bright side of things and can have this installed to have a laugh now and again. When i say true gamers, i don't mean chavs who just play shite football games and racing games, I mean people with an open mind and acctually try things and think for themselves.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if you are trying to de-suade others from trying out things for themselves... i would shut up

Posted by Fizzy fizz 01/03/2009 3:50 pm

i think this is a fair comment, i was disapionted in this need for speed as there were no drags or drifts, the most fun events,, it was in the light which i hate and the driving was was unrealisted as u didnt even have to brake for corners:O i have had every need for speed since underground and undercover and most wanted are the worst ones!!

Posted by Alex 01/06/2009 3:04 pm

where can i find the registration code for NFS Undercover?please can you tell me?

Posted by Codrut Nistor 01/06/2009 3:41 pm

Inside the cover of your original game DVD, of course! ;)

Posted by SoLo 01/10/2009 4:51 am

I agree with most of what you say Spork.

I think if people want a "realistic" driving game they should look into driving simulators. One of my favorites is Race 07, takes a bit of learning after play NFS though since no braking means bashing into a barrier with penalty of car performance and handling.

My PC specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.6Ghz
2GB PC5300 Memory
1GB (2 x 512) MB NVidia 8500GT w/ SLI turned on

My biggest disappointment with UnderCover is the graphics speed, with a system far beyond the recommendation this game should perform better than it does. GRID is way faster, at higher resolution, and smoother than NFS UC. With GRID, using 16XBCC or some crap anti-aliasing at 1280x1024, I get around 30 FPS but lesser settings with NFS this drops to under 10FPS.

Posted by krishna 01/10/2009 2:27 pm

mr.codrut nistor i'm warning to u.

sometimes u say's nfs suck again and later u say's buy the game, why did u tel that one.

so remember the last time what u say to me..... if you understand what I mean.

Posted by Codrut Nistor 01/10/2009 2:47 pm

No need for warnings, krishna. For me, NFS: Undercover is one of the greatest failures of 2008 when it comes to racing games, and I only said "buy it" to those asking for serial numbers here, that's all.

Better study some more English, so we can understand each other properly, instead of throwing away a few words here - after all, dirty language is the first part of a foreign language everybody usually gets acquainted to...

Posted by MRMAYBE 01/12/2009 8:55 am

Undercover SUCKS!!!. Its Boring As Hell The Cop Chase Are The Only Thing good, But The Races Themselves Are To Damn Easy. I Like midnight club LA better. because the racing is more funner

Posted by Pandion 01/17/2009 8:28 pm

EA really dropped the ball on this one. The game has so many predecessors you would think that they could have taken them all and wrapped it up into one nice BIG package. I was highly disappointed in by every aspect of this "game". My favorite still stands to be, NFSU2 =) If only NFSU2 had similar graphics as Pro Street and more cars.... Hint Hint...

Posted by sam 01/26/2009 10:06 pm

i totaly agree with you. at first i was tempted to purchase the game just because of the damn trailler.

the game could be better.

now let's switch to evil hater bastard anti-EA games comment:

i hate EA games, its like every series they get out they just make them sucks so much so that they just focus on marketing and the ammont of game actually purchased. no wonder i was unable to get my hand on a legit copy. stores never had one, until by extreme luck i find 2 on a future shop.

and to my great dissapointment."internet connection required to intall the game". here we go. didn't they learned from they're stupid mistakes?? guess not. comon super securom to the rescue.

if anyone played burnout paradise...... you will vomit playing nfs uc.

the god damn traffic in nfs uc are the same god damn traffic graphics as the one in burnout paradise.

matter of fact: nfs uc is a burnout paradise mod that just did not get any serious attention to detail. wow, they got good testers!!!!

EA would have made more money getting burnout paradise for pc instead of wasting money on a crap like that.

"it could be a damn good game". listen EA. DO NOT REALESE GAMES IN DEVELOPMENT.

EA started tio suck eversince 1998. the year they purchased Westwood studios. and they ran it out of buisness in 2003.

im so glad i just waisted time and bandwidth for this game. i told my slef i will never be supporting EA anymore. since all they care about is getting your money no matter what.

if anyone tell me that i should be ashame of having downloaded the game instead of purchasing it.

well, now i know for sure this game was a funking joke.

il use my 50$ for something else. like eating.

joke of the day:

back to best buy. i know why i just couldn't get any of nfs uc.

not because they were sold out. because best buy knew it would be bad publicity for them. so they decided to make this game really hard to get your hands on. not for any reason.

and you know why.

LOL @ krishna & nistor

anyway, i already played NFS:UC (private tracker copy... with keygen :P), and i find it okay with the graphics set at medium (considering i'm running it on socket 478 3.0 HT, 2 gb 400 mhz RAM and 7600 GT AGP, looks like MW to me). I'm not really particular with the "driving realisms" and graphics although every game I encountered, I'm setting them to high settings the first time they run into my system. :D. Now, I know that this is way off-topic but you see, I don't mind running the game in medium or low or high settings, the real fun every game has really starts with the gameplay, the challenges, the replayability, the multiplayability. Sure, Crysis has a very awesome graphics, but we're talking about the present, much like that the Galaga and Mario were a hit in their FamCom days. Believe me, every game's graphics will be outdated in what? 6 months time? Anyway, to get things over with... I'm still playing Silent Hunter 3 & 4, and also landing a Boeing 747 in the LAX. You see, what I considered as "true gamers" are those that can shoot people and animals=FPS including HUNTING SIMULATIONS, Whack Monsters=FANTASY RPG's and the likes, take-off and land with helicopters, fighterjets and commercial airlines=COMBAT AND FLIGHT SIMULATORS, command an army to their oblivion=RTS (Turn based or Realtime), build a city and manage the income=SIMS series, jump, roll, punch, kick=FIGHTING GAMES and the best of them all, command a battleship or a submarine, be it Virginia, FFG, DD, 688, Seawolf or a U-Boat), THAT... is what I'm calling "a true gamer". But still, it is just a piece of my mind, it depends upon you to like your games, my advice is that, read reviews first or download a demo of the game before buying the full, that way, it can save you time and money, and if the full game eventually bores you, just go to Control Panel, enter Add/Remove Programs, and uninstall it. Take the DVD carefully, order some gift packaging, and send it to your worst enemy... but don't forget to drop a comment below and share with the rest of us your opinion about this so-called "game." Hurhurhur. :D

I must agree! This game really sucks... especially when you compare it with EA's best NFS games such as Need for Speed 1, 3 and Porsche Unleashed (2000).

I just read something I believe is wrong though, you said "I just stole a Bugatti Veyron - the fastest production car on Earth, as we know it. The cops are somewhere behind me, and I am cruising on the highway at 361km/h. Officially, this car could go faster, but in the game, it stops here."

Well actually, that is not truly correct I'd say since I watched a youtube video where a guy got it up to over 400 km/h. Here's the link -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ-l0Mo-WvU

That guy got it up to 429 km/h (and I'm pretty sure he didn't use any glitches or cheats) :)

Well that's it I guess...

Regards,
Chris

I thought the game was good to be honest. I also did wonder about going well over 200mph and some damn SUV cop car was freaking catching me. There are a few things that suck about the game (like cop car SUV's that can go over 200mph) I think it's a pretty good game =/

Chris, that guy on YouTube wasn't doin' the mission where you have to steal the bugatti, so I guess he had it in the garage and maxxed out.

Okay my bad, since I'm not so much into this new NFS game I don't really know if I have a clue about what it is that I'm talking about ;)

But I got your point anyhow.

where can i find the registration code for NFS Undercover?please can you tell me? I Lost Mine And I've Tried Like 3 of Them So Far.....

Try calling EA support and see if they can help. If you still have the barcode or receipt you got when purchasing the game, you could probably get a serial from them.

The best game (it will be very nice) is the hybrid between NFSU2, Most Wanted and Atari's Test Drive Unlimited...the best graphic in Most Wanted.. the gameplay in NFSU2... but EA is orientate to make a stupid games for childrens. This NFS Undercover is disaster... like Carbon and Pro Street.... painted unreal bulshit, and this new NFS Shift is a mistake....!

undercover theme and its story isn`t good, and seriously nfs most wanted, carbon, prostreet graphics are much better than this game.. i m a nfs all series lover since nfs2 released

I fuckin hate this slow POS game I lost my car half way thru the game by getting ramed by like 7 or 8 cops at once now I got no cash no car other than a pink slip car, the AUDI --- the slowest one. Now WONDEFULLY I have to try and race aginst a viper and all these other stage 2 cars I almost broke my keyboard once or twice and that = A shit eating game to me. And did I say I have yet to figure out a way to make money, get this when you win a race ITS GONE FOR EVER WTF, I dont know maybe there is a way to race again for some money but I havent found it yet. Now that I cant win even one race, I did EVERY cop challeng cuz I was pissed and it made me feel better I am screwed. right now I am trying to figure out how to restart my game but I guess they didnt make this game easy to use or something.
I am with you on the graphics carbon looks better than this POS I mean why put a game out for a PS3 useing PS2 graphics they need to layoff what ever they are smoking, and its not tires after playing this game. I just wanted to vent cuz I have found the first NFS I fuckulating hate.
On a last note the best is NFS (SE) I could not get enugh of the Viper, NFS2 (SE) Here is another fact that has been pissing me off WHERE THE HELL DID MY Farraries go WTF and my inside view of the sweet interior, FORD GT or F1 was awsome too. 3 was ok, just cuz of the what was it el nino the car that I am guessing had no real make or model. Hot pursuit was ok but I did enjoy mostwanted the most out of the COP ones. And what ever happend the online MMO NFS that was a sweet one around the time of the unleashed on.

Any way thanks for reading about underground or I mean Undercover, man they like to use Under a little too much I think thats the key dont ever buy a NFS starting with the word Under cuz everything in it is under expectations.

listen people.....from my P.O.V i would say that this game is great in many ways... except the police way :P cuz in need for speed Mostwanted wich was the number 1 for NFS fans the police where stupid! u could ram at least 30 of them in a single pursuit, not mentioning the fact that u gotta work ur way up the Blk list ..so it was awesome and im sure if they made a NFS:MW2 everybody will run of buying those... but the most important thing is that u play to perfect the game not to be a jackass submitting posts about how awful the game is just so u could get attention... i finished the game 2 times ...1 full American and 1 full jap..now its full eruo for me... so go ahead enjoy the game...don't let anyone lie and say it sucks...

i got no problems with my pc since i was playing the nfs underground 1 and 2. I'm finished my new custom build desktop with q9300 x64 bit intel processor, 8gb ram, 650w psu, asus p5q-e mobo and radeon hd3870 graphics and the game is quiet working well. but i really liked the nfs underground 1 and 2 a lot. one thing that i don't like with nfs undercover is that there are always a chase with the cops and there are no drifting and drag.

I rather play crysis in most of my playing times than this.....

Personaly , i think this NFS game was a lesser game,
then the other series , graphics wise , i don't realy give a shit , if it's good or bad , that seems , too be the only topic in game's these days ,

well sure i do appriciate good graphics , and sutch , but we can't complain about the bug's in the game , becourse all game's has shitty bug's

yes i find , a bugatti getting overtaken by a Suv , rather , well FACK'D

And cop car's suddently going high wire , when they are on another side off a wall .

so here's my negative's whit this game ,

Can't do any crusing around , and exploring , due to cops going high wire , after what 30sec's time , and hell i ain't driving 60 to 80 KM/H around to avoid them .

Bugatti overtaken by Suv copper's
Seeing me from the other side off a huge cement wall , yeah right .

oh yeah and the very limited stuff to do on the car's where buggin me a bit . but yeat , that's the fun part off the game , forming the dream raceing bucket .

Positive's
Customising the car's
and making my Stingray endup on the roof , doing small thight turns , ( Stock suspension ) (=

My favorite , NFS game is Underground 2 , where there was a crap load off stuff you could put on the car's ,
wish we could do that once again . that whould be nice

and add a few more veteran car's ,
and boy racer bucket's
Sierra's , Fiesta's , 56 'Bel Air's and sutch ,

my overall rating for this game , is a 4/10 .Total

Posted by Vertias 06/14/2009 8:41 am

Game only get's real ennoying when copper's keep catching up , whit you , driving at ridiculus speed's ,

But challenge is Challenge , and fun is fun .
and im a Elite when it come's to racing game's

have all the NFS game's
Grand Turismo game's
Some rally game's
Even a golden Oldie
Street legal Redline Racing , witch was very fun .
whitc my racing experience from these game's , copper's ain't a huge deal in this game , the just a Blimp in the rear wiev mirror .
( =

Facking COPPER'S SODD OFF , ( =

My 5c for what it's worth:

I have all of the NFS games since Porsche 2000 (which I love - still on my pc and I play it regularly). Undercover is definately a big disappointment for me though.
There didn't seem to be any structure or flow to the story-line which left me feeling like there was just a big collection of races to be completed - at least in MW and Carbon there was a discernable path to follow and in PS, Ryo's little comments were at least entertaining. I finished UC with over 50 races still on my GPS screen.
I have to agree with the comments about the PD SUVs - they overtook me in the F1, Zonda, GT40 and Bugatti and that is just....well.....no!!
I loved the world in UC - I enjoyed that we are driving in daylight again too. Those highways go on for forever - wicked!
Imagine a game with UC's world, PS's tuning and car parts, Carbon's drifting and canyon races, the engine from any of the previous three NFS titles, the length of MW and had the range of cars from UC.
I'd smile at that!!

Okay so I loaded the game on XP after getting the wii version
The wii version had like half the list of cars as all other versions. Not sure why, but that totally sucks.

So although I am running from an integrated chipset, but that doesn't stop the graphics from being super jagged even at 1280x720 (native screen resolution). In case you are wondering why I am running this thing on a integrated chipset, I must say that I AM going to buy a new desktop right after the exams but mainly wanted to sneak a peek in the controls to see if has manual transmission (again I must say, the wii version is stuck to automatic) because I am also planning to buy an old G25 wheel from ebay.

All in all, the graphics were extremely disappointing. I never thought it would be worse than my wii, but hey, the realism, animation, AND model texture is worse than the wii version, which, by the way, is strictly set to 640x480. An oh, by the way, I was comparing this with my PC version set to 1280x720.

So for a 640x480 graphics to be less jagged than a 1280x720 resolution? That is just sad.
