Online Logic Puzzle Games

Logic puzzles are puzzles deriving from the mathematics field of deduction. This branch was created by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, who is known under Lewis Caroll pseudonym, the one who wrote Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. In his book, "The Game of Logic", he introduced games to solve problems like "Hypothesis: some games are fun & every puzzle is a game. The question is if all puzzles are fun, and the answer is "not necessarily".

This kind of puzzles, where there is given a list of premises and then a question is asked about the things presented in the premises are known as syllogisms. The example mentioned in the previous paragraph is quite simple, because Dodgson constructed much more complex puzzles consisting up to 8 premises.

Later, in the second half of the 20th century, Raymond M. Smullyan has continued developing this branch of logic puzzles and the wrote books like "The Lday of the Tiger" and "To Mock a Mockingbird" and "Alice in Puzzle Land". He made "knights and knaves" puzzles popular; these games involve knights which always tell the truth and knaves, who always lie. There are also logic puzzles which are non-verbal. One popular example is Sudoku, which uses players' deduction skills to correctly fill the squares with numbers.

Another form of these logic puzzles, very popular also is a format in which the scenario is set-up and given, and the object too, and also clues. Then the reader fills out a matrix with all the given clues and attemps to find the solution. This type of puzzle is called "logic grid puzzle" and the most well known example is the Zebra Puzzle, which is called "Who Owned the Zebra?".

A very interesting logic puzzle is the one created by Einstein.Einstein wrote this test and said that 98% of the people can't solve it... Let's hope you are one of the remaining 2%. There's only one solution for this problem.
