Team Fortress 2 Updates

Team Fortress 2 needs no introduction, but if you missed it so far, it's enough to say "team work," "cartoon style" and "shooter." I know this is not enough, because I wouldn't become suddenly interested in a game after hearing a few keywords, so I think you should better go and read the Team Fortress 2 review we have here, on PlayerzBlog. These being said, let's move on and see what should one expect from the Pyro Update for the PC Team Fortress 2, all right?
Team Fortress 2 PyroAccording to Valve, the long-awaited Pyro Update features no less than 35 new achievements, as well as 3 new unlockable weapons. All these will become available on Thursday, but there's even more, because 2 user-created maps, yet unknown, are also going to arrive as an additional bonus, to "highlight the great work being done in the community and distribute those works to all TF2 players."

For those already having the game, here's the list of achievements to be added:

Hot on Your Heels: Kill 50 enemies with your flamethrower, from behind.
Next of Kindling: Ignite an enemy, and the Medic healing him.
Second Degree Burn: Kill a burning enemy who was ignited by another Pyro.
Weenie Roast: Have 2 enemy Scouts on fire at the same time.
Baptism by Fire: Force 10 burning enemies to jump into water.
Fire and Forget: Kill 15 players while you're dead.
I Fry: Ignite 10 disguised Spies.
OMGWTFBBQ: Kill an enemy with a taunt.
Got A Light? : Ignite an enemy Spy while he's flicking a cigarette.
BarbeQueQ: Cause a dominated player to leave the server.
Dance Dance Immolation: Kill 3 enemies while they're taunting.
Hotshot: Kill a Soldier with a reflected critical rocket.
Firefighter: Kill 500 enemies.
Fire Chief: Kill 1000 enemies
Attention Getter: Ignite 100 enemies with the flare gun.
Pyromancer: Do 1 million points of total fire damage.
Hot Potato: Reflect 100 projectiles with your compressed air blast.

Since this is a free update to a game that - obviously - requires you to pay for it, Valve will host another Free Weekend starting on Friday at 11AM PDT, allowing newbies to try the game via Steam.

Space Station Sim

Simulating the real world in a game gets more and more interesting, because the processing power games can use these days allows much more than just amazing graphics. The sad part is that most realistic simulations don't take full advantage of this, trying to focus on numbers and AI and leaving graphics aside. Exactly the same seems to happen with Space Station Sim, a game expected to arrive in a few days, that tries to place you inside the International Space Station...

Space Station Sim

Developed and tested together with NASA personnel by Avanques Software Publishing, Space Station Sim will be launched across the United Kingdom later this month. What is this all about? Here's what the official press release says:
"Space Station Sim challenges players to embark on a new age for man amongst the stars as they build a home 240 miles high, while flying at 17,500 miles per hour." Not just "another simulation," don't you think?

Even more interesting, it may be possible that NASA will use the game for "future mission planning." If you play well, who knows...maybe you end up as a space mission manager!

"The game begins in the Mission Control Centre, where the player launches new modules and components, recruits crew members, organises supply missions and manages the project budget."

Priced at £19.99, Space Station Sim will arrive to PC World, Amazon and Play.com, as well as to Avanquest.co.uk later this month.

Mabinogi Pets

If you don't like pets, you must know someone who does, but if you don't like computer games, you surely got here by mistake, but don't go yet! What if...what if you like pets, but you don't like computer games? Well, I am sure we can work something out! For example, you should go ahead and try Mabinogi, a fantasy MMORPG released by South Korean Game Distributing Company Nexon and inspired by Celtic mythology, because a pet system and new magic skills have just been added!

Mabinogi Pets

I won't get deeper into the game, because I am sure you can do this by yourselves, so let's see what's new in this fully featured MMORPG that managed to gain huge popularity while avoiding to be just "another MMO."

The pets available are a dog, two cats, a fox, and a wolf, which can be purchased through the Nexon Cash Shop, and will surely enhance your gaming experience. Each pet has its own appearance and skills, and apart from the "firepower" provided, you will also be able to take advantage of their inventory to store more items than before.

Next to the first five pets, there will be an additional five ones added on the 25th of June, as well as a new boss monster, dungeon, and the chance to learn and use a new high level magic spell, the Thunder. At last, once the 25th of June update arrives, it would be an idea to look out for Fleta, a new roving merchant having some unique items for sale.

Oh! One more thing - if you want to play Mabinogi but you're worried about the costs, you should know that this game is free to download and play, but some items require real money to be obtained.
