EA’s Half-Blood Prince

I am not crazy about games based on movies, because in most cases, they are completely messed up, but this time, I will leave my opinion aside, especially since the Harry Potter franchise sells a lot of products, and EA Games already released pretty successful games based on it. Now, EA and Warner Bros. announced the launch of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game later this year, at the same time with the new Harry Potter movie...

Harry Potter game

"We believe that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game represents a milestone in the movie tie-in genre. Building on the technological advancements of previous games in the series and with a particular focus on the unique control system of Nintendo's Wii, the team here is working closely with the filmmakers to create an immersive interactive experience that captures the story, the action, the excitement and, above all, the fun of the film," says Harvey Elliott, Head of EA Bright Light studio in the UK, where the Harry Potter franchise has its home.

Humm...we should live and see it! Doesn't really sound like my kind of thing, but since Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scheduled for release on the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS, Windows PC, Macintosh and mobile devices, I guess virtually everyone should be able to play it, no matter their favorite gaming device...as long as they are crazy about such games, of course!

Age Of Conan Is Ready

Age of Conan - Hyborian Adventures is one of those MMORPGs that hordes of gamers are waiting to get their hands on, especially those that didn't manage to take part in the Beta stage. Well, it seems there are only a few more weeks to wait, just enough to upgrade your computers, if you haven't done it already. Today, Funcom and Eidos announced the game has gone gold, so everyone will finally get this game who spent no less than four years in the making!

The release is scheduled for 20th of May, but it seems Age of Conan won't pass by like other games do. Why? It's all about advertising, and a recent investor update shows Eidos and Funcom willing to spent over 10 percent of their anticipated gross revenues to promote this game!

If we look at the prices, and considering all the hype around this game, I guess Eidos and Funcom should get their money back... Check this: $59.99 USD in North America, 49.99 Euro in European markets for the retail package, and with a subscription fee of $14.99 to US participants, and 12.99 Euro fee to European players.

Considering the screenshots and movies available, as well as the feedback of the Beta users, I guess we'll get a lot for our money. If only money could also buy us some time for playing, that would be really awesome!
