Poker card games
In this article I am going to present you some information about different poker card games. Since the popularity of poker is on a rise thanks to the Texas Hold’em game I thought that I should give you some information about the other poker variants as well. Texas Hold’em is by far the most popular type of poker game because is played worldwide both in casinos for large amount of money or for no money amongst friends. The World Series of Poker tournament offers the largest sum of money at the Texas Hold’em tournament and that is the prize which every poker player wants to get. This poker card game can be played by a minimum number of two players, and by a maximum number of 10 players.
You should know that there are three different categories of poker games: stud poker, draw poker, and community card poker, each having different rules and characteristics. Texas Hold’em and Omaha Hold’em are two of the most popular poker games which belong to the community card poker. In the community card poker all the player get to see a certain number of cards which are placed faced up on the table and all the players will be able to use those cards in combination to the cards that they hold in their hand. The number of community cards ranges from game to game; for example in Texas Hold’em each player has 2 faced down cards and 5 community cards whereas in Omaha the players receive four faced down cards. The cards ranking is exactly the same as in the case of any type of poker.

One of the most popular draw poker games is the five card draw. This is the game which was the most popular before Texas Hold’em; this is the game that is featured in most of the old Western movies. The draw card poker games are very easy to play. Each player receives five cards and he has the possibility of replacing up to 3 of them. For example if he has A, A, 2, 4, 8, he can choose to keep only the Aces. The cards ranking is exactly the same as in the case of any type of poker.<

A very popular stud card poker game is the Seven-card stud. In the stud poker games each payer will receive a certain number of faced down and faced up cards, but you should keep in mind that the faced up cards are not community cards. Even if everyone can see those cards, only the player who owns the cards can use them. In Seven-card stud the players will first receive three cards (two downcards and one upcard) then three upcards and then a downcard. The cards ranking is exactly the same as in the case of any type of poker.
