Solataire Card Games

The Solitaire card games refer to the games which are to be played by a single person, just as the name suggests. The Solitaire games can be pretty interesting even if you play them by yourself. They are a great mean of passing time, and to tell you the truth they can be quite challenging. There are various types of Solitaire games.

Many people make the mistake of believing that there is a single solitaire game, the one that can be found for example in the Windows operating system, and that is the game that they call Solitaire. In reality, the name of that Solitaire game is Klondike, and it is the most popular Solitaire game in the world. In this game the player has to shuffle the deck and then create seven piles of faced-down cards. The first pile will contain a single card, the second one two, and so on, all the way to the seventh pile which contains seven cards.

The top card from each pile is turned faced up. Once this is done, the player can move each card which has a lower value on a card with a higher value than that card and of a different colored suit. For example he can move the 6 of spades on the 7 of hearts, or he can move the King of diamonds on the Ace of cubs. When an Ace is discovered, it is moved on a different column. Each Ace has its own column and the main aim of the game is to fill each column in the order of the ranks of the cards.

Spider Solitaire is another popular Solitaire game. In this game the player will have to use two decks of cards which he has to shuffle. Afterwards he has to make 10 columns of cards, each column having faced-up card. Each top card can be moved on another card as long as it has the same suit and as long as it is one higher. If the top card has been moved, the next one will be turned up. The aim of the game is to set two copies of all four suits aside by having a complete suit of cards ranked successively from king to ace.

The Golf solitaire is another popular type of Solitaire game, in which you have to lay out seven piles of five cards each, face-up. Then you will have to take another card from the deck and set it as a foundation. The aim of the game is to place all the cards from the foundation before you have depleted the remaining cards from the deck. These are the most popular solitaire card games and the most fun to play.
