Alive 4-ever is one of the best action games, for iPhone OS 3.0 (Tested), you could hope for. The current version is 1.0, released on August 26, 2009. The game is similar to resident evil franchise surrounding you, from the beginning, with hundreds of zombies. Alive 4-ever is a zombie shooting game (a good one). You can choose from for main characters (Steve Carter, Taza Thorpe, Anna Lenox, Wallace Milner) coming from different backgrounds and with different weapons and abilities. Your mission will be to rescue survivors from a town that was attacked by a deadly mutated virus which turns dead people into zombies.

Visually, the animation and graphics are very good and especially good enough to see the zombie blood pattern when you kill them. The music is chaotic and makes you feel the desperation. One of the best features, you can set the level of blood effects in the game.

After every mission you will be rewarded with points. With these points you can upgrade basic abilities. After the first upgrade you will be rewarded with ability points as well. Ability points will help you improve your character’s combat skills and weapons. Speaking about weapons, the game provides you with 16 different types of weapons. Tip: upgrade to the strongest weapon in order to save all the survivors. The weapons section is pretty good in terms of providing a good overview of each weapons power and ability to reload quickly. You can also try out your weapons of choice to see what’s more effective for you. During the game you can shuffle between multiple weapons, and in many cases, you’ll have access to more weapons you even knew.

The game provides with 30 missions for players, which includes eliminating a given amount of zombies, rescuing survivors in a given time frame, defeating the big boss or just getting vaccines. There is no way you could get bored (most likely your battery will run out of power before you’ll get bored). Remember that you can create every kind of heroes you wish for. One mission may have the objective of saving 30 survivors and acquiring 5 vaccines. Saving 30 survivors will complete the mission while acquiring 5 vaccines will deliver bonus piece equipment.

Alive 4-ever not only has the basic level passing requirements, but also challenging conditions so the player will be rewarded with special equipments after the challenge. New version 1.1 is expected (SURVIVAL mode).

Alive 4-ever’s dual control stick scheme is really one of the better set-ups on the App store because it works smoothly. The pad on the left controls movement and the right pad is for aiming and shooting. The accuracy is extremely tight and makes the game better.

The game play is fun and the missions themselves are challenging. In fights against the boss you should use a large variety of weapons in order to defeat him. You may need to re-play several completed levels in order to build cash reserves. The interesting feature about your enemy, zombies, is that they come in different shapes and sizes. Also some are faster than others. There are also zombie dogs (resident evil, anyone). In later missions you will need to save survivors, for that the game offers a handy yellow arrow that points in the direction where survivors are located. In replaying missions, the survivors hardly reappear in the same spot.

The game is basically flawless, maybe sometimes just a little repetitive. If you enjoy action shooter games and / or zombies then Alive 4-ever is for you.You can play it easily in the summer, when the heat doesn't allow you sitting outside or having outdoor fun.
